We enrolled our dog, Winnie, in the Day Training program to help build her confidence. We brought her home at 8 weeks old and quickly realized she was a very shy puppy who became nervous whenever she encountered something new. I did my best to work with her on my own, but when I found this program, I was excited for the opportunity to get additional support. One of my favorite parts of the experience was receiving the weekly videos and report cards. Katrin took the time to explain Winnie's body language and behaviors in a way that helped me better understand what Winnie was feeling and what signs to watch for myself. I learned so much throughout the process. The progress Winnie made was amazing. On her trial day, she was so nervous that she wouldn't take treats or engage in the larger training room. By her final day, she was confidently running around, playing, and showing her silly personality in the largest room at the facility. We are incredibly proud of how far she has come and excited to continue helping her build on that success. I also want to give a special shoutout to our trainer, Katrin. She was incredibly patient with Winnie and always encouraging throughout the entire journey. My little pittie mix and I had such a fun time taking classes here! We recently completed the 7-week foundations course with Logan. I was pleasantly surprised at how much we learned in the course. I'll admit I was a little disappointed at first since the class is a lot of lecturing, however, I see why it is set up the way it is. Even with a high energy dog, the breaks between exercises were needed. I did not realize how mentally exhausting the training can be for the dogs and owners. Apollo loved the classes, but was definitely ready for a nap when we got into the car. The first class and I think the fifth(?) are primarily lecture. The instructor informs the class of this in advance so you can plan accordingly. Due to the nature of the first class, dogs are optional. After each class they send a detailed review of the class along with homework exercises. Each week has a topic and the classes are organized well. Overall, we enjoyed this class and recommend their classes to others! read more

I have been taking my dog Milou to All Dogs Allowed since he was a puppy and I'm so happy I discovered it! They only use positive reinforcement methods which is really important to me, and I love how much they value the comfort and happiness of their dogs and humans. I've taken several different classes here and it's been amazing to see how much we've learned and how much I've grown as a handler. We are huge fans of All Dogs Allowed. Karen is the owner and trainer at All Dogs Allowed and she is fantastic. We have been to 5 different classes with Karen- Puppy Class, Step up, 12 weeks of Focus Fidoz/CGC and Tricks Class. The Puppy class was great- taught us all about crate training, nutrition, how to get a consistent sit and down on command, plus loose leash walking and much more. Step up is just has it says- it stepped up our game and introduced the three D's (distant, distractions and duration) into the mix: longer duration stays, distance & duration waits, recalls, etc. I never thought before the age of 1 my dog would know: sit, sit stay, down, down stay, wait, stand, come, roll over, play dead, pray, by me, spin, twist, paw, touch, target, loose leash walking and much more! The classes are rather small in size which is great because Karen can work one-on-one with you and your pup. They are also very reasonable in price. This class was great! I brought by 8 month old Gordon Setter to this class to get him started in the right direction for what seems will be a life long learning experience for him. We took a starter class and was given a huge amount of great information. I really enjoyed the class as something that we could learn from and move forward with. Unfortunately during the course of the class we were in the middle of planning a cross country move and could not devote as much time as we would have liked to Dexter's training. If there were different circumstances we would have definitely continued his education here and done some of the advanced classes. There are a few things that I didn't care for which was the way that we were rushed out of the class and the only way to ask questions to the teacher was to email which was frustrating. As well the owner of the business was a substitute for two of our classes and while it was great to have a different point of few for some of the problem dogs in our group it was frustrating with her constant pushing to continue to another class. Instead of answering question she would just say you need private training even after we explained that we were moving across the country and that it was not possible to attend other classes. I would highly recommend this class and this company to other people that are looking for a trainer as you learn so much and the handouts are very very helpful. Dexter Loved it!! read more

I had high hopes for this class And attended all the sessions. Overall, the class was disorganized and of very limited value. The instructor unexpectedly changed several times during the short intro course and their knowledge, communication skills, and teaching ability varied considerably. The staffing changes made it impossible for the trainer to get familiar with the dogs and their owners. One trainer spent the majority of the time lecturing quickly on a broad array of topics. The next trainer claimed that there was a common curriculum, ensuring that the class would stay on course regardless of who served as the instructor. A third came in for the final class and tried to offer value but did not know what had, or had not, been covered previously. The expected outcomes of the course, and those of the individual sessions, were vague. Weekly supplementary online materials (readings and videos) were slow to arrive and were never introduced or discussed in class. As the weeks passed, some participants began to question the value of the course due to the lack of actual training outcomes. read more

I've attended classes at All Dogs Allowed almost every week for five years now. Meagan and Lindsey, the trainers I've worked with the most, are knowledgeable, kind, and patient with both student and dog. Every class is focused on certain things, like agility, tricks, off leash play, etc. However, the instructors won't hesitate to modify each dog and handler's activities to ensure the pair is always set up for success and able to leave the class with a positive feeling. Their training methods are safe and gentle on the dog, using techniques backed up by science. Attending classes at ADA teaches you how to listen to your dog and understand when they need your guidance and when they need space. In addition to the classes, I also love the reactive dog and dog body language seminars I've attended at the center. ADA is a fantastic place to learn about your dog, with your dog. The​ instructor, Katie was extremely knowledgeable throughout the eight weeks in the Foundations class. Unprofessional. My experience with Karen has been a roller coaster ride. Because of the good reviews, I decided to try it out. I have never owned a dog, and neither had my family...I did not know what to expect. Our instructor for the first 6 weeks or so (not Karen) was ok, but it just didn't seem like I was getting the results I wanted. She seemed knowledgeable enough, but something just wasn't right. On her final week with us, Karen decided to sit in and review her and fired her after all. Evidently she had not previously checked in on her and only did so because of a complaint. When my class was voicing some concerns about their experience, she got very defensive and cold, saying it was our fault we had not come and told her about our instructor. Even as one classmate tried to calmly say she had assumed the curriculum was what Karen had put together (evidently it was not), Karen still was defensive. It is not the job of the customer to know the inner workings of a company. But I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt anyway. I came in for a makeup class and was 2 minutes late because of factors I could not control, and she sternly chastised me in front of the class. Ok, that was fine...I was late. But then for the next 30 minutes, she would mention over and over again how this lesson should have been more fun/gone more smoothly/been enjoyable if 'people' hasn't shown up late. Ok, beginning to get frustrating. And now to the finale. As she was demonstrating a technique on each dog, some of the dogs in the class seemed to get agitated and started barking at my puppy (probably because he was unfamiliar) and despite the fact that I was keeping my dog calm and keeping his face to the ground and away from those dogs. Karen got angry and basically told me that something was wrong with my dog and that I had to lock him in my car. She *kindly* offered to let me come back in and watch the other dogs while my dog sat in the car for the next 30 minutes! There was no need for so much unprofessionalism and rudeness on so many occasions. She may be ok at training a dog, but puppy classes are all about dealing with and teaching humans band that is not something she is skilled in. read more

In my short experience with Karen she has been unresponsive in the many emails where I am nearly begging to open the lines of communication about money that she owes me. I have never had/received any of her or her companies services and yet she refuses to give me any portion of my money back. I would think twice about paying for her classes when the moment you release your money no matter how satisfied or dissatisfied you are, you will never see it again. Secondly, her 'disclaimer' is extremely one sided. She provides no rights for her clients even (as it says in her disclaimer) when the fault could be entirely hers by allowing a dangerous dog in. Even in her negligence, you would still be at fault. Good business owners should know that their success balances carefully on customer service, of which I have had NONE from All Dogs. read more

All Dogs Allowed is AWESOME! The head trainer teaches you not only how to get your dog to do basic commands but how your dog thinks. She gives full explaination of why things work and don't work. We have had 1 dog in training with All Dogs Allowed for 2 years. He is now on his way to getting his AKC Rally Novice title. He got a qualifying score in his very first competition. We recently adopted a very shy/nervous dog who is very mistrustful of people. All Dogs Allowed has done wonders for us and her. When we first started classes she wouldn't even follow a lure. Now she can sit and stand on command in class. We recommend All Dogs Allowed to all of our friends who have new dogs or have issues with dogs they have had for a while. I love taking classes with Karen at All Dogs Allowed. When I started looking for classes to take with my dog, I knew that I could not just go anywhere as he has reactive issues that require a more knowledgeable and forgiving trainer. Most people shy away from those troubled dogs, but we were welcomed and treated no differently than any other students in the class (other than to give us extra space). She does not allow anyone to feel embarrassed or ashamed of the way that their dog behaves, only offers advice on how to make the situation better. We went through the beginning Foundation level, even though my dog had been through classes previously through a Pet store. I was hesitant at first that it would be too boring for us as we knew the basics, but I gave it a shot anyways thinking that worst case it was good socialization. We walked away from this class with way more than I had bargained for. Yes some of it was repeat, but the way that Karen teaches makes it easy for dogs of all levels to still learn something. We are now taking the second level of classes and have renewed for another round. Our goal is to be able to pass the CGC test, something that previously was out of reach but now I believe with hard work and time it can be done. Karen is a life saver and I highly recommend her classes to everyone. She has made me a better trainer and I can see a huge difference in my dog. read more

We have a lab puppy that is on the hyper side, that is, she is more hyper than the average hyper lab puppy tends to be. We have worked hard following Karen's instruction and we have been amazed how much both our puppy and we are learning. We are in the foundations class. This is not a cutsy, waste of time class. How many people do you know say they took their pup to classes and their dog still misbehaves constantly? That is not what happens w Karen. A the same time, Karen is all about positive reinforcement and gentle training technique. I feel like I,m attending a master's in canine education class with her, but the results speak for themselves. If you are considering a puppy training class, but you aren't concerned about the outcome, then, probably Karen,s class isn't for you. But if you need results and you want your pup to think the process is fun, then, this is your class. Btw, the class is only tough for the humans. The doggies have a ball. read more

I started taking my lab mix to All Dogs Allowed almost a year ago. He was found as a stray, so I had no idea of his history. He was an unruly embarrassment. He stole a chicken wing from a little boy's hand as we walked by. His way of saying hi, was a ninja leap right into your gut. Walking around a lake was impossible if there were ducks nearby - he would howl like I was beating him. He had no focus, no control. About the only thing he had going for him was that he was house broken. Only 6 weeks into Karen's class and my friends could see the difference. I could take him out to dinner and have him sit politely with my friends and I without worrying if he would visit the neighbor's table and steal food. After her Foundations class, we've moved into Focus Fidos and I'm planning to keep moving into her Pet Therapy class once he passes the CGC. Karen's classes are small and provide individualized help to perfect techniques. And her prices are so reasonable. I've been to other training classes with my other dogs and I love the way she explains the WHY along with the HOW! I can't wait for our next round to begin! read more

My wife and I were very much looking forward to starting our pup in Karen's classes as we have heard many good things about the business. After requesting a class change due to recent personal issues we were denied because of this small business's policy. I was deeply disappointed given there was room in the other class. We were not looking for a refund, simply trying to change our class schedule. Within 2 minutes of talking to Karen on the phone I was accused of being everything under the sun.
