Tons of pubs and food options nearby make this a convenient spot. The hotel is a converted courthouse, and it has a lot of character. They play it up with the pictures in the walls, and the bar (which is in the old courtroom) has some of the nicest folks running it. Definitely an atmosphere here. A bit pricey for some of the drinks-- but it's convenient with quick service and open pretty much all the time from afternoon through evening. You get a small(ish) and clean, tidy room with super reliable service and friendly staff. Never had any issues here with getting in early after a long flight (at no charge!), which I deeply appreciate. We usually bundle in breakfast (which is cheaper if you pay in advance), and we've never had complaints. The food is fresh with a lot of variety, the coffee is hot and the cafe staff are friendly and responsive. We did afternoon tea so posting those pictures. It was delightful even though they had a few kitchen hiccups along the way that turned it into a bit of a lengthy experience. Having said that, I'd try it again!

The building was built in the early 1900's and served as a courthouse and jail before turning into a hotel. They have a very spacious posh lobby filled with art and a massive hanging chandelier that my daughter affectionately labeled the corndog light. (If you see it, you'll get it) The hotel is a Marriott property so checking in, service, amenities, etc. were all great as expected. They have an attached restaurant but we didn't eat there, so no report from me. We instead ventured out to explore nearby eateries and found some great gems within walking distance. We did however have a few nightcaps at the bar, and I can say service and selection were tip top. If you're looking for a clean modern hotel near many sites but not directly in the center of the hustle and bustle, you'll be happy with your stay here.

I book online the same way every time and have never had issues like I experienced at this location. I have encouraged all future clients to book elsewhere and will not book any Premier Inn locations again. I made the reservation for 2 clients who were visiting from America. Everything was paid in full and they had the email to prove it. On arrival they were told they owed an additional fee over £200. For that price difference they could have stayed at a 5 start resort in Knightsbridge. They paid the difference as they arrived late at night and were jet-lagged. I arrived in the morning and went to their room so they could show me what they had been given. It was disgusting. There was thick dust everywhere, badly painted walls, mold by the windows and we even found old peanuts under the bed! Absolutely disgusting and thankfully did not trigger one of their peanut allergies. I went to the front desk to discuss the issue and they were offered another room. Needless to say the second room wasn't much better. They had multiple key issues (and no they didn't keep their keys next to their phones), there was no phone in the room so they had to go down any time they had an issue. There was a broken fan in both bathrooms. The toilet seat was broken and coming off. There were also homeless people on the streets below one side of the hotel and they both said you could hear yelling late at night. Not ideal for a week long stay! I came back at the end of their trip to go through the additional charge with the front desk who themselves could not explain it properly. I finally got a manager and asked why my British father (who I booked into the same hotel) didn't received an additional fee but the others did. She didn't have an answer and just said "it's the price" even with me showing her the booking screenshot and confirmation email. After 2 months of dealing with their customer service team, they finally said "we can't discuss any further with you as it's not your name on the booking". So I forwarded all the information to my client and she is still awaiting an answer. At this point I have sent all communication evidence to her so she can dispute the extra charge with her bank. I made 2 reservations at Premier Inn in the same way and my white British friend didn't get charged any additional fees, but my black American clients did. I always aim to give people the benefit of the doubt but this can only be taken one way. Avoid at all costs, especially if you're a foreigner.

I stay here when I'm out for work functions or late weeknights rather than return to Southend just to traipse back into London for work the next day. It's south of the river, along Tower Bridge Road and apart from the Costcutter across the road from the hotel, there's not a lot of life in the immediate surrounding area. However, you're only a 15 minute walk from the heart of the City. Because it's such good value it gets booked up so best to check availability early if you want to get a clean, basic room for less than £100 a night.

Staff is friendly and very understanding : we had unintentionally booked a standard twin room - instead of a double room - and for our second night, we ended up with a double room + a complimentary upgrade. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable, well furbished, and overall quiet - maybe a few sounds from the streets during the day, but nothing to worry about. Prices are way under average in London : we paid around 100 pounds per night, so this is very good value for money. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a few nights stay in London !

This place has Free Wi-Fi, but i had a lot of issues trying to connect to it on the first night, after about 10 minutes trying to connect i gave up and used my 4G instead. On the second night it worked but it was pretty slow. The staff were all cheery and kind, the restaurant staff in particular were very lovely, happy to help and get you anything you might want or need, We had a continental breakfast included which was regularly topped up for us. Free coffee for all guests from 11am to 5pm. I was lucky to have a view of the Shard & London Eye which was a nice treat as being from Birmingham its not everyday you see a skyline like that, I'm not sure if all rooms are so lucky, but this was great view! Bermondsey is an interesting area I hadn't seen before, but the walking proximity to Borough Market and London Bridge/ the South Bank is reasonable, and you have a fantastic coffee shop just metres over the road, as well as a cinema, Sainsbury's local and a number of restaurants. The hotel is a dry hotel, meaning no alcohol is served, but this shouldn't be a problem for you as the Sainsbury's sells everything just over the road, and the staff will happily direct you should you require somewhere to find a drink or if you need glasses etc. Simply lovely, and would highly recommend

Review of London Bridge Hotel…read more I am compelled to write this review due to an unacceptable experience at the London Bridge Hotel, where safety concerns, poor service, and shocking levels of rudeness left a lasting negative impression. Our stay was marred by an incident where a member of our group slipped and fell on the poorly designed stairs. The steps are barely distinguishable, posing a clear hazard that has reportedly caused falls for both staff and guests. When we reported the incident to the duty manager, the situation was handled appallingly. The individual on duty--later identified as Alpay, the head receptionist--initially did not even seem to know who the duty manager was. After checking, Alpay confirmed it was indeed him during the incident but admitted he failed to act despite claiming to be present when the fall occurred. No first aid was offered, no basic care protocols were followed, and when asked to see the report that should have been logged, Alpay flatly refused. It was painfully clear that no report had been made, and his dismissive and rude attitude compounded an already unacceptable situation. His behavior in front of another receptionist was unprofessional, and his need to always have the last word, coupled with the unpleasant smell of cigarette breath, made the interaction even worse. This level of service is not only disappointing but also fails to meet the minimum standard of decency and care expected in the hospitality industry. The fact that someone like Alpay, who demonstrated dishonesty and rudeness, holds a position of responsibility as head receptionist reflects poorly on the management of this hotel. The experience at breakfast only reinforced the poor service culture. Staff were abrupt, and at 11 a.m. sharp, we were told we needed to leave, even if we hadn't finished. Room service was equally inconsistent, rounding out a series of service failures that made this stay intolerable. In the interests of being fair and balanced, there was one receptionist who was present at the time of the appalling interaction with Alpay, and he was kind and polite throughout the stay. Unfortunately, I cannot name him in this situation because I didn't catch his name. Alpay, however, should be reprimanded and given further training on basic customer service because he is not someone who should be leading the reception area and claiming to be a duty manager. These are titles that far exceed the communication and professionalism received from him. I do hope the general manager takes the time to review CCTV footage and address the serious concerns raised here. This review reflects my values and expectations for basic human decency and customer service--both of which were utterly lacking at the London Bridge Hotel. For these reasons, I cannot recommend staying here. Avoid it if you value safety, professionalism, and respect.

For my first visit to London, it was great to be so close to Waterloo Station. I booked the Premier Inn again for a trip with a friend in my most recent visit to London. And nostalgia for my initial London visit could not save this experience we had at The Premier Inn Waterloo. Aside from the great transportation option of being so close to Waterloo Station, it's also right in eyesight and walking distance to the London eye (5 mins), Westminster Bridge/Big Ben (10 mins), and County Hall (right across the street). The Premier Inn hotel is built right into a historical landmark, The "General Lying In" (maternity) Hospital. First off, the lobby is not in the best shape, with many broken check-in machines and furniture that has seen much better days. As a plus, though, there is a Starbucks in the County Hall plaza right across the street, which we visited often, on our most recent visit. The room was ok, but it seems way more cramped than on my first stay all those years ago. Our room did have a nice view out to County Hall with a semi-view of the Eye behind it, so that was nice - and the large window did let a lot of natural light in. The bathroom was ok sized but right next to one of the beds (if you do the two bedroom configuration), so you better be very close friends or spouses to stay in that type of room, because you'll be going to the bathroom right next to them with a thin little door between you. We also saw a tiny bug in the bathroom too, so that was not the best. Another issue we had was that we stayed for an entire week and were told by the front desk that they do not change any sheets or clean your room if you weren't staying there 10 days or more. My friend even had a womanly spotting issue with her sheets and they still would not change or clean them! I've never heard of anything like that and it made the entire visit very uncomfortable. The old phrase "location, location, location" does not save this one, because the location IS great but I don't think that alone was worth all the issues we ran into here.
