Holly was so chill and so nice, and my 3 year old son warmed to her instantly (which is a big deal). I never felt embarrassed having her get to see all my prolific clutter, or my weird storage situation, or all the times I realized I had no idea why I even owned X item or why it was where it was. She took charge where she could, while empowering me to purge, sort, and re-prioritize in a way that felt freeing, not at all judgmental or scary. The whole process was so motivating; she was here for not even 3 hours but we got SO MUCH DONE, in our front closet but also in our upstairs loft area that has been plaguing me for YEARS as I tried in vain to turn it into usable space. Now, any time I walk by it, I take a deep, satisfying breath and bask in the order. I can't wait to finish "moving in" to that space, now that I can see the big picture for how/where I can place everything. To his credit, the owner, Jef Forward, intervened to submit a revised proposal. He also had the entire garage slab replaced with new footings for the bathroom addition, along with the drywall and framing that the sinking slab had caused. Forward Design has put so much thought into their comprehensive approach from the initial meeting, throughout construction, and down to the final details. We not only love the results, but we were regularly impressed with how they handled every step and detail of the process. Organizationally, it is clear that there has been a high degree of intentionality and investment in the cultivation of their work place culture. This translates to clarity, open communication, and collaboration with the client. Each member of their team we worked with were talented, artistic, responsive, and skilled.
