I'm very impressed with the quick service I received for the engraving portion of my purchase. However, I do think they should advertise how much the engravings cost per item. I did not shop at this particular location. I bought a wedding gift for my employer at the "Things Remembered" located at the Staten Island Mall. I purchased a beautiful clock with glass sides and etching with a heart pendulum. Engraved on a plaque was the couple's names and wedding date. It took the staff only 20 minutes to make the engraving. Obviously the bride and groom loved the gift. Online Shopping at Things Remembered. Please just be aware when you placing an order. They have the worse customer service. I had to call and followed up at least 5 times for 1 order and no one was able to help me in the end. I have called to make changes for the order, I was promised that I will received a call back within 24 hours. I waited and called, one of the representatives told me that I must wait for the same person to resolve my issue, she was out and will call me back. I then waited another day, and called received the same answer. Guess what? I received an email from Things Remembered that my item has been shipped and here is the tracking. What is the use of having a customer service line? to help the customer I assumed? Very disappointed. Just be aware when before you place an order, because you cannot change it at all even it was only after 1 hour of placing your order & poor customer service. If I can't make changes just tell me over the phone, don't made me wait and trying to call back so many times. Waste of time. Be aware! read more

Passive Aggressive Jerk that works there or is the Manager not sure. I went there on 6/11/21 with my late Father-in-Laws watch. All I wanted was his initials engraved on the back of the watch in his memory. When the guy asked how much the watch is worth I said around $400. He said on no, we won't touch it. I was like really? I said I will sign a waiver and if it doesn't work out, no biggie it will be on me. He was like Noo, we need a receipt and was rude in a very passive aggressive way. It was like he didn't want to explain it and pretty much just was dismissing me. I was very surprised how rude he was and the old me would have probably started arguing with him, but I decided to not let jerks like this get the best of me. So in closing, all I will do is give this store and bad review for hiring such a passive aggressive idiot. He did know that I was brining in my late father-in-laws watch and he did not even show any sort of empathy or compassion either. A real classless act! Right after that I went to Bandstand Watches in the same Mall and he treated me like he really cared about his customer and the price was even less with a much shorter wait time. read more

Been here a few times never really brought anything from here lol the reason is because of the price each word u put of the product is like five to ten bucks and the products that are sold in there are like 30-40 bucks. Even though it can be pricy I still like walking in there and look at the stuff and the engraveings read more

I hate going into this store. I made the mistake & went during Christmas to get my Grandmother a personalized picture frame. The girl helping me couldn't even count the letters properly to tell me how much it would be. Then she made a comment "don't mind me, I haven't been to school in awhile." Are we kidding? I don't even know who would say that. I just think they're VERY overpriced. If they're going to charge per letter on an item, they should make the items a little cheaper. read more

Things remembered..... AND then forgotten fast when the item breaks. I bought a few things here years ago.. and they all didn't last very long. When I 1st started dating my girlfriend, a few years ago, and I was working an hourly wage job, not really making much money at the time, I came in here to buy a gift for my girlfriend. At the time, it was cute and all I guess. I bought my girlfriend a heart bracelet here, and a heart necklace, both with our names and date engraved on it. At the time, this was a cute gift, and my girlfriend loved it. I paid about $40 each for the items, so I spend about $80 at the time, which back then, was nearly a weeks salary (lol!!) Within a month, both items broke. I give this place 2 stars, because the bracelet broke 1st, so when I called the store, they were nice enough to make me a second bracelet the same way, free of charge, and I didn't have a receipt or anything to show them, just a broken item. So Now I had the original broken item, and the replacement bracelet for my girlfriend. The necklace wound up breaking soon after, and the other bracelet my gf didn't wear as much, because it wasn't the original one I gave her. Now both those items, sit in a jewelry box I bought my girlfriend, as a sentimental reminder..but never again worn.. and the sad thing is, out of all the jewelry I bought my girlfriend, these 2 items, were the first gifts I ever bought my girlfriend, as soon as we started dating, so now years later, its a shame that these are the items she can't wear anymore. read more

I was passing the store in the SI Mall, on Feb 21, and saw the 'Everything Must Go' sign in the window. My friend and I decided to take a look. Well, it turns out that out of over 400 stores, the corporation sold off more than half of them!! Everything was 50 to 90% off!! To say the least we walked out with tons of beautiful items (engraving was extra but soooo worth it). My 5 star rating goes to all of the sales girls at this location. Even with the knowledge that they may be out of a job (there was no notice of which stores were staying open) they were courteous and extremely helpful. The engravers were soooo busy, yet still conscious of making sure each piece was done correctly. I bought so many items, that I left a bag at the store. My friend went back today to pick it up for me and was told that the store was staying open and the girls will keep their jobs! YAY!! PS - in all the confusion, everything was still kept neat and orderly. More kudos for a great staff and beautiful products. read more

At a recent outing to the Staten Island Mall, I discovered Things Remembered was closing numerous stores across the country. The store was a mad house. Customers were grabbing quality merchandise, having it engraved and, with a limited staff, the lines were long. I was amazed at the work ethic of the staff. It was February 21, the didn't know it their store was going to be one of the nationwide stores to be closed and they were hustling as if it was the Christmas rush and they had a sales quota to meet. They were obviously on edge since they prospect of unemployment was near but that didn't deter them from helping customers and keeping the store tidy amidst the crowds. They are to be commended. I was truly impressed. As a side note, I went back to pick up a package I mistakenly left behind the next day and discovered that the Staten Island store was spared the cutting block. It couldn't have happened to a better staff!!! read more

So most of these reviews are bad and I wish I would have researched before going to things remembered for a purchase. I went in the past and had no issue until recently. I'm not one to complain but for the rude attitude one of the employees gave me I really wish I had said something. I went to Staten Island mall location. I brought a frame my boyfriend had asked for. To make it special I decided to engrave it. As I asked the lady to help me put my order in she was immediately rude. I was also with my friend who asked me what her problem was.( so she noticed too) In the middle of filling out the paper she walked away to help someone else. The manager ended up taking over the order and told me to come back in an hour. When I got back the employee who originally helped me handed me a frame engraved with a huge scratch across it. ( I'm guessing they did it with the stylist) I was very calm saying that there was a scratch and she responded trying to tell me it was my fault and that I brought her a scratched frame. I had told her that I checked the frame right in front of her to make sure and that is why I handed her a half open picture frame box. I'm sorry but not only did this lady Jennifer start off rude from helping me in the beginning, she tried to hand me a scratched frame and blame me for her mistake. She called the manager over to ask if it happened here and the manager responded yes. ( so reality they both tried to hand me a frame they ruined hoping I didn't notice because I look young) Jennifer also made some snooty remarks and laughed at my gift choice and commented in a rude tone rolling her eyes " I got my boyfriend a frame but he didn't want it." I then responded my boyfriend had asked for a picture of me and him to put in his room and for it to be cherry wood. ( you could sense the jealously in her voice with every comment she made) My friend who was with me also engraved a frame and of course Jen the employee made another comment that we both got an engraved frame. This was all right in front of the manager. I really wish I would have complained about the frame in the store instead of taking it with the pencil fill in they did. In regular lighting the frame is now ruined. I will not be buying anything else from this place. I ended up buying a seal to fill in the scratch on the frame they ruined. I asked friends and family many opinions of the story I had told them of what happened and everyone responded with they should have reimbursed me for their mess up. For looking young they had taken advantage hoping I wouldn't say anything but of course not one to complain they were lucky. I would love it go back and tell Jennifer that maybe if she was a nice person her boyfriend would actually appreciate a picture of her. I'm sure karma will do its job. read more

Terrible service. Went to pick up an order for my mother and the amount of back and forth with customer service was so frustrating. The manager seemed bothered with everything I asked her, and I engraved an item and they didn't tell me it was going to be an extra 31 dollars. Unbelievable. read more
