Very disappointed in this Veteran ran business the owner Dave said he had 22 years of experience…read morehowever he never measured my attic, he assumed I was uneducated he stated I needed almost 3000 sq ft of materials for my 1900 sq ft home, not knowing I already had my attic measured (approx 1100 sq ft attic) the quote was $5000 for a radiant barrier which would be at $5/sq ft however he said he charges $1.65/sq ft I told him that his unmeasured sq footage was wrong he then adjusted the price to the proper calculation 1st red flag he missed the initial appointment, 2nd red flag he didn't measure the attic, final red flag was that he says he has experience so he should have been able to have an idea of the real cost of the job before he sat on my couch to over charge me. He brags about how much money he makes clearly due to scamming hard working Americans out of there money, he says he a Marine same as my father fought and died for this country and he had no respect for a daughter of a veteran who's father raised her to get more than one quote. Koala Insulation of Atlanta - Second Application

Koala was the first company I called and I didn't know much about how spray foam worked. Austin…read morewas very helpful in explaining the concept and spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me. He event gave me a rough estimate over the phone. After calling a couple of other companies who never responded I had him come out to see the house in person in order to confirm his quote and make sure all the attics were accessible and spray foam would work. After seeing the house he confirmed the quote and we eventually scheduled a date. Before the installation day I asked him for a written estimate/contract. We boarded our dogs and I had my wife and son stay in a hotel for the 2 installation days. First day (removal) the guys showed up about an hour late. They worked hard all day but still weren't quite finished when I had to leave for the day. They said they would come back the next morning to finish in time for the installation. But then they also wanted to leave a giant bag of insulation in my garage for several days until they could get around to it. Said they had to get to their next job. Told them no, they needed to take it. Have to finish 1 job before you can move on. A little late the next day but they showed up and finished the removal. Now I will say, I have high expectations for any work done to my house. The removals guys were nice and cleaned up after themselves but some of the work in the attic could have been a little better. Left some of the removed items. Installer showed up and i showed him everything and he got started. Estimate said the insulation would be 5.5" thick (nominal average) on the ceiling and 3.5" on the walls. This made complete sense as that is the depth of the bays created by the 2x6 and 2x4 lumber so my expectation based on that and other installations I had looked at online were that the bays would be filled with the variation coming in to play on the expansion of the foam. The R value of this foam is 3.8 / inch. When he was done and went and looked and found that the coverage was no where near filling the bays. Generally it was about 2.5-3.5 inches over about 95% of the ceiling and in very few areas was it even close to 5.5. I brought this to the installers attention and asked if it was done expanding. He said yes and when I showed him what I was talking about, he said he had been doing it for 13 years and this was how he always did it. He had me talk to the owner (Austin who did the estimate). He kept telling me it was nominal average and because they did 8-10 inches at the soffits it made up for it. That's not the way averages work and it's not the way insulation works. We went back and forth and I told him i simply wasn't happy and it needed to be fixed to match the contract. Paid most of the cost, but held back 20% until it was done. They came out this week and the installer was still telling me it was thicker than i thought. Said I should stick a ruler in there to see. Well, I happened to have a 6" steel ruler handy (because I had already done that) and proceeded to show him the 1-3 inch measurements. He resprayed a second coat over the entire are and it ended up being the way it should have been in the beginning. My guess is he either underestimated it (he made a comment about using more product than he planned, not my fault) or they really just do always do the installations like this (which is not the way it should be done) and people either don't look, or don't know what they are looking for and just take their word for it, or just let it go not realizing they are not getting the same insulation properties they paid for (5.5 inches gives you about R-20, the 2.5-3.5 I got would have been about R-9 to R-13). I did post a message in an online spray foam forum where every response confirmed that the initial application was not adequate and also spoke to a rep from the manufacturer who agreed that it should be 5.5" minimum. Despite the difficulties getting it all done correctly I am extremely happy with how much it has changed my attic temperatures. They went from 115-120 to about 80-85 the next day. It had already cooled down outside by the time they did the second application so I am very curious to see how it does next year when it gets hot again. As far as getting spray foam, I can absolutely 100% recommend it. Just not sure if I would use the same company again.

I found Reliable online and they had a call out fee of $89, which I know is basically my personal penalty for not knowing anything about plumbing. I set up an appointment for Saturday afternoon, knowing that I would be home. I received a courtesy call from Joe when he was on his way over. Joe was professional, friendly and knowledgeable, and helped me understand the problem. He was in and out of my home in less than 15 minutes, and I kind of learned how to address these types of issues in the future so I am very grateful. Thank you to Joe for making my problems go away quickly. Now I can address them since I was able to learn why my drain was bad, and not keep tossing drain cleaner down and wasting money. I'm noting Reliable for any needs moving forward!

Unfortunately I found their service to be very poor. Several times their technicians installed the wrong size filters in my units, left the filter access doors open, and frequently they had to come out several times to fix a problem. I have tried to cancel my service contracts several times and they keep charging me. You have to call them several time to get the monthly charges stopped.
