I was really excited to begin my rehab journey at Function Enhancing PT (FEPT). My experience…read moredidn't seem to match those of other reviewers unfortunately though. The care itself I'd give an incomplete. I don't have anything bad to say as it seemed helpful while I was there. I did not finish out my rehab here so I'm honestly not sure how I would have ultimately fared if I had stayed. Administratively and communicatively speaking, this place is a mess. To outline some of the failures I experienced... 1.) I had an experience where one of the staff members was multitasking when I was trying to book my next appointment. I was given the day and time of my appointment. I wrote it in my calendar on the spot. Apparently, either the wrong date and time were recorded on their side or I was given the wrong info. I showed up on the day of the appointment and the office was completely closed. Mind you, getting to the establishment is 40 minutes round trip for me. When I reached out after to express disappointment, I was told by the staff I was called several times and that my appointment had been for the day before. Turns out, the number I provided on my first day was not recorded by the office correctly to begin with. FEPT did not try to charge me for the visit but there was an undertone of blame lodged which was unsettling. 2.) Upon initially reaching out to solicit care, the office staff plugged in my insurance info and informed me of my co-pay. Several weeks in, the staff asked if I had received any checks for services to my mailing address (I had not). They informed me they hadn't received any reimbursement and it was coming back as out of network. Puzzling given they ran my information before I began my rehabilitation and I was in-network. Out of fear I was going to get some surprise bill, I called my insurance and it turned out that the therapist FEPT originally submitted paperwork for was not the one who was servicing me. I don't know what the in-house structure is among the PTs, but either way, FEPT were submitting the claims wrong initially and this created yet another headache though this was ultimately resolved but not without time and effort on my part. 3.) I noticed after my initial PT sessions were approved, my insurance only approved 3 or 4 sessions at a time. Going twice a week, that meant my sessions were expiring every 10-14 days. This seemed unusual so I called up my insurance (again) and the reason I was given was that FEPT had failed to provide sufficient information to clearly indicate where my progress was and the insurance company was made to believe I was close to the end of my needed treatment. I was nowhere close to being finished. I'm not sure internally who was responsible for this, but clearly the insurance had not received what they needed to process more sessions at a time when more were needed. 4.) This brings me to my final issue and it's related to the above. As sessions were regularly running out, the staff did not stay on top of this. They would wait until I would finish my last session to seek authorization for additional ones. I would run out of sessions and then be told that I would need to wait a few extra days again before booking my next one so they could request more. This would mean in that week, I would not get in my normal needed treatment thus extending the timeline for my recovery. My insurance also informed me they do not require all sessions be used to seek authorization for additional ones. Once this happened the last time I was there, FEPT said they would call me back after they received authorization and would book my next appointment. They never called and needless to say, I never went back. I went elsewhere. I could nitpick about some overbookings or the fact that I could never get the same appointment time, but those were minor in comparison to the above. I hope my experience was an isolated one, but it sure seems like this place has a lot of work to do.

After injuring my ankle, I was uncertain if I would be able to run like I used to. I became increasing worried about this pain and decided to get it checked out. A friend recommended that I visit complete body physical therapy. This place is located in the financial district and it's a bit tucked away. When you enter the Complete Body gym, there's a juice bar and then you proceed downstairs into the main lobby. Don't worry about getting lost once inside because there is a huge physical therapy sign assuring that you have found the right place. Right away, I was struck by how Dr. Lee genuinely wanted me to get better, asking me questions and doing a thorough assessment. He joked that the goal was not to see him ever again after finishing the course of therapy. During my session, he helped remedy the scar tissue on my ankle and showed me the exercises I needed to do to improve. I also mentioned pain in my back and he helped relieve it with his adjustments. I have to admit, I was a little scared at first because you can tell he's a strong guy. But after turning my limbs and applying pressure, Omg did I feel relief.. I don't even need a chiropractor.The practice is very spacious and we also have use of the Pilates machine in the next room. In addition, I was able to get a complimentary membership during my course of therapy which is an added bonus. The gym is really nice including the locker rooms which has an amazing sauna and steam room. Most importantly, I was able to feel comfortable and after visiting a several times, my pain significantly subsided. I'm pretty confident I'll be able to run my next 10 mile run without any worries. There are a lot of physical therapists out there, but Dr. Lee stands out in his attitude, adjustments, and expertise.

From the first consult I knew she was the one. Dr. Frank came recommended from a family member who used her after a spinal fusion surgery. All I can say is she understands the injured body in a way none of my previous doctors or surgeons could. Her bedside manner and listening skills are something very uncommon in today's medicine. The Manipulation therapy coupled with her specified workout regimen are one of the main reasons I have the quality of life I have being partially disabled. I can truly say that Dr. Frank changed my life in a way no other doctor or medicine could and I am eternally grateful. When common methods don't work, they work hard to come up with new (and sometimes entertaining) ideas to help you get better. I have recommended multiple people come here. They have already helped me get back onto mat faster than anyone expected. I have another surgery coming up and I plan on going back there to recover. The only negative is that one of the women who works the front desk is a pain to deal with. But you don't go there to deal with the people at the front desk, you go there for therapy. And since the therapists Gene adn Steve are top notch, problem solved.

Sorry, but be more respectful to your customers and don't answer questions that you don't know the answers to.

I sought physical therapy when 9 months pregnant because of some SERIOUS pain I had in my pelvis…read morethat nobody could tell me what to do with. It was agonizing and prevented me from sleeping or walking. I found Brill Physical Therapy on Yelp and made an appointment with Peggy. Peggy was VERY knowledgable and immediately diagnosed me as having pubic symphysis. She gave me some exercises to do, manually realigned me, and gave me some ice. I slowly started seeing some small improvements and went back for about 6 sessions. The reason I stopped going - and the reason this review is less than stellar - is that I felt pretty swindled by the practice during one visit. I was getting my treatment and Peggy asked if I wanted acupuncture - DURING the treatment -- I still had 15 minutes to go of the session. I said "sure," imagining that she was offering as part of my session. As I was leaving, I am told that I owe more than $100 for the session because the acupuncture wasn't covered by my insurance. WHAT? I am really upset and ask to speak to Peggy, who all of the sudden "is too busy." When I express my upset to Eileen at the front desk, she tells me Peggy will call me, which of course she never does. I was very emotional, really pregnant, in lots of pain, and I think they took advantage of me. I never returned. So bottom line: PROS: Peggy is very bubbly and funny, very very knowledgeable and experienced, and it's a warm and cozy little office. I did see some improvement in my pain, although not a huge amount over the course of my 6 visits. It was covered by my insurance, and they have lots of offices for ease of subway. CONS: Be VERY careful and aware that ANY service or product they offer you WILL be charged separately. Also, Peggy works on 2-3 other patients at the SAME time, which can leave lots of dead time and the sense that you are wasting valuable time while she finishes with another client. It is also not a relaxing atmosphere at all, as the staff talk at loud volume to each other and to other clients - even during the parts of the session you are supposed to be relaxing.

I was looking for meaning where there wasn't any to convince myself these sessions were worth the cost. I became leery after repeated minor issues which I believe to be signs of something larger. Examples included my PT arriving late to a few sessions and telling me she would send me follow-up notes or exercises but never did until I followed-up to ask for them. I learned later that my therapist and the receptionist are siblings. Due to Covid, there was a natural break and I stopped going. To my surprise and skepticism of virtual appointments, I found a fantastic PT who made me realize I didn't know what I wasn't getting until I found it.

They were very painful and it hurt to run. Other PTs told me there wasn't much they could do and that I'd just have to live with the pain. I also went to see an orthopedist who recommended surgery. Before I decided to go that route I figured I'd give PT one last shot and luckily had Erica as a PT. She was able to fix my knee and now I no longer have pain and can even run without pain. She is someone I recommend to all of my friends.
