I came here to see Dr. Gleb, the new owner, for a chronic issue I have. The clinic is completely redone from what it was years ago, and the setting is very clean, feels very new and professional. The team was very friendly, front desk was very helpful with figuring out what to do with my insurance and I appreciate that kind of customer service. The building is easy to find and there's parking around the neighborhood, the one con of businesses here are that I can't park in any parking lots for my appointments but that's to be expected for Riverdale area. Overall I highly recommend this clinic and was very impressed with all the changes they've made since I've been here last years ago with the previous owner. read more

Jerry Mann is the guy for you. Had the is frozen shoulder since Jan decided since I couldn't shave my armpits that it was time to see the orthopedic surgeon Dr Levine at Columbia . He suggested that I take naproxen amd receive PT right away. They gave me a list of PT and I'm so happy I got an appt scheduled very close to home. I got an appt right the next day and I'm on my 2nd session. Let me just say Jerry(Doc) is amazing. My shoulder already feels better. Can't wait for my next session! read more

This facility is irresponsible with Covid. They are not checking vaccine cards nor requiring masks. Employees are maskless, patients are in relatively confined spaces maskless. This is totally irresponsible, especially for a facility with a number of seniors as patients who are more susceptible to serious conditions from Covid. And I have not seen another medical facility without responsible Covid policies. Happy to remove this review once they change these irresponsible policies. read more

I came here recently after having low back pain, the new owners are great and have done a great job renovating the place. I felt better after my first visit, the therapists here are very attentive and my program is individualized to me, which I really appreciate. I had lower back pain, and went to a physical therapy facility that did not help me, so I went to Riverdale Physical Therapy and Jerry Mann worked his wonders and after one treatment I saw substantial relief. After two sessions I was totally symptom-free. I go now for reinforcement but spoke to Dr. Mann about leaving the practice. He concurred that I didn't need many more sessions but cautioned me to continue doing the stretching exercises he recommended me, many of which were new to me and very effective. read more

I came here for a compressed nerve on my left arm and swollen tendons. Jerry was kind and cooperative, listened to my concerns and explained to me how the exercises would help my discomfort. I went to Riverdale PT because it was covered by my insurance and was close to my home. I went twice to make sure my experience wasn't just a fluke and the second visit was just as bad. The front desk staff is hit or miss sometimes they are friendly sometimes I feel like I am doing them a great disservice by giving them my business. I was snapped at when I arrived and told to sit down. Twenty minutes after my appointment was supposed to start I was led to a room to wait for another 10-15 minutes before I was seen. Jerrold Mann (the owner) treated me the second time and he inspired no more confidence then the therapist I worked with the first time. Despite complaining of sharp pains the therapists continued to push my shoulder past where I thought it could go (and was in pain for days after). Dr. Mann was dismissive and did not seem to be paying attention to my injury or needs. After my one-on-one treatment I was led to the gym where each time the therapist would give limited directions to an intern or somebody to lead me through the gym process. The intern didn't seem to have a sound knowledge of the rehabilitation process as each question I had she had to disappear to ask to the doctor. I debated posting this - I just moved here and perhaps the service is different here then on the west coast but after my experience here I found another PT office nearby which was amazing...I will not be returning to Riverdale PT. read more

I recently recommended that a friend of mine go to Riverdale Physical Therapy for a knee problem. But after reading 'Will K's review of the facility,' my friend expressed doubts about getting treated there. So I felt obliged to post my own review. About two months ago, I finally decided to do something about the pain that I had been suffering in my lower back for quite sometime. I went to a surgeon who gave me two options: Surgery or physical therapy. I obviously choose the latter and ended up going to Riverdale PT because it was in my neighborhood. That said, I have a totally different take on my experience there... In the first place, I found the front desk staff to be extremely personable. But even it they weren't -- which, as I said, they were -- that's beside the point. I wasn't looking for a welcoming committee!! I'm was looking for efficiency and help for my back pain!! Both of which I got!! Yes, there was a short wait sometimes. But it is to their credit that they actually spend time with their patients, rather than give them the usual fifteen minutes that are normally allotted elsewhere. Dr. Mann said that I probably DID NOT need surgery -- and that I should come three times a week for six weeks. Each visit, I was given both manual therapy, specific exercises to do in the gym and also at-home exercises to augment my program. Did the treatment hurt? At times!! But manipulations -- and certainly stretching -- can be painful. Maybe I should have done more of that all along and I wouldn't have had a problem with my back to begin with. Besides, have you ever see an athlete going through physical therapy? It's brutal!! The trainer I worked with in the gym was so knowledgeable and professional that I was considering booking him for personal training sessions. And, on another visit, I actually appreciated the fact that the 'intern' asked the doctor questions!! Since every case is different, more specific instructions are sometimes needed!! At the end of the day, I am pain-free and didn't need surgery after all. And as far as I'm concerned, I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. read more

My dentist is still in Manhattan but I've moved all other medical issues to Riverdale/Montefiore. Services & doctor visits are on par or superior to what I've had for over 30 years in Manhattan. Have had 4 visits so far at Riverdale Physical Therapy and am extremely pleased with my progress. Of course, the staff is nice and professional. Most importantly, I'm getting excellent treatment and am pleased with the progress I've made in such a short time. read more

Dr. Mann and the trained staff at Riverdale Physical Therapy have helped me so much and I am so grateful to have found a truly experienced DOCTOR of physical therapy. I've been to therapists in the past that barely put their hands on me but rather relied on outdated, brief technology and treatment. I have had two back surgeries, a shoulder surgery and a partial knee replacement. If it wasn't for Dr. Mann and his staff I'm not sure I would be able to move and get around anywhere near as well as I do. I love when I go to the office and Dr. Mann is excited to show me a new piece of equipment he's purchased. The gym at Riverdale Physical Therapy has a wide range of equipment to work with all sorts of injuries. I'm especially grateful for all the years of experience Dr. Mann has in his field, he stretches and massages my muscles to give me the optimum pain relief and range of motion. I am so fortunate that a good friend of mine recommended this PT to me. Dr Mann really was such a help to me, and my frozen shoulder. I had put off doing something about this problem for months, and in the very first session I could see that Dr. Mann truly cares, and has a genuine warmth and ability to fix the problem. I'm lucky that I live right across the street. His front desk staff comprises of two women who make you feel welcome right away. When you go to a doctors office you want to be treated with respect and dignity. I would highly recommend this office to anyone needing a PT. I have been going to Riverdale Physical Therapy for the past month in treatment for compression in my neck causing a pinched nerve. I was in great pain all down my right shoulder and arm.
