He did say I could call for an MRI if things didn't get better in a week, so I took him up on that. It was difficult to reach them to get clearance for an MRI and after having the MRI, I've had a rough time getting results, which the imaging center promised in 24-48 hours. I received a phone call last Thursday (48 hours after the MRI) from the office but they didn't leave a message. I called last Friday morning and asked for my results and was told the doctor would call me right back. I never received a call so I called back that afternoon. I was told the doctor had left for the weekend and a PA would call me back with my results in about 5 minutes. I'm sure you're shocked but that call never came. I called back Monday and was told Dr. Summerville was out all week on vacation, leaving me hanging without results. When I said that was unacceptable and that I was told I would have the results in 24-48 hours, they said a PA would call me that afternoon. I bet you know where this is going... It's now Tuesday. I made my now-daily call to IBJ asking for my results. A PA is "calling me back this afternoon." I'm not terribly optimistic about this actually happening and am looking forward to calling them again tomorrow morning so we can continue the dance.

Lower back pain is a condition that I have suffered with for years. A couple of weeks ago I was…read moreexperiencing pain that was a 9 vs the 1 or 2 that is typical for me. Owner Zubin T. greeted me with a look of concern and asked how I was doing and I told him that I was experiencing very bad back pain. He told me to give him a call to schedule an appointment. This I did only expecting a consultation to schedule future treatment sessions. This was not the case. Rubin performed a full evaluation through which he determined that I have some muscle weaknesses that contribute to my lower back pain. He told me that his goal was to give me the knowledge and exercises so that I would not need regular treatment. He patiently took the time to instruct me on exercises to strength my core and even video taped them for me as a reference. My first provider was Dr. Omar, who cared for me until her passing. I then continued my care with Kelly Vinson, they have always been wonderful--attentive, understanding, and professional. I've never felt like just a name on a chart with either of them. They truly listened and made sure that any treatment or medication was thoughtful and necessary. This level of care is the reason I've remained loyal to your practice for so long. Unfortunately, today's experience left me feeling deeply disappointed. I called to ask about a walk-in was told there were no walk-ins only appointments were available, but when I expressed that my reason for the visit was private, the tone of the conversation shifted. I was put on hold and then informed that there were no more appointments left. It felt dismissive and, frankly, like I was being penalized for not sharing personal medical details with the front desk. I've never had to explain my symptoms to a receptionist before booking an appointment, and I don't think patients should be required to do so--especially when the matter is private. I understand policies evolve, but this kind of interaction does not reflect the care and respect I've come to associate with your office. I'm concerned that the quality of service is changing, especially with Kelly going on leave, and it's disheartening. Please consider this as feedback from a long-term patient who truly values the exceptional care your providers have given over the years. Each therapist heard my concerns- we worked as a team. My therapist gave me printouts of exercises to do at home. The therapists continually let me know what to expect throughout my recovery, prior to my surgery they explained my expected mobility and limitations from week to week after the procedure. I feel thankful as the surgeon told me very little. The staff here have positive attitudes which of course left me feeling happy and uplifted after each session. If you require physical therapy consider this particular Athletico- the staff is exceptional. They will work with you to meet your goals. And if you can exceed those goals they'll let you know.

It is nice to support local businesses too! IBJ and Athletico need to get dedicated staff like Colletti's. I have had another injury and back at physical therapy. Melanie has left but I have had two very qualified and excellent therapists. Jen and Jessica have led me through a difficult diagnosis, a frozen shoulder. I got injured at work, broke my back, wrist, etc. Michelle helped me gain some mobility back with my shattered wrist and brought back some strength. She is the nicest and sweetest person as well. Mike and Julie helped me gain the ability to walk normally again. Both are very knowledgeable and kind. My favorite part is they not only helped me physically but also mentally. Their attitudes and actions made me look forward to coming to therapy and getting better. The front desk agent Jen was always punctual kind and informative. Bee always kept the building extremely neat and tidy. Occasionally decorating for the season to make it more comfortable. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
