I immediately scheduled an appointment with her pediatrician and once again it was confirmed Londyn has an impairment. I spoke with several speech pathologists in my area, however no one seemed to fit, whether it was scheduling flexibility price or personality. I was referred to Having Our Say by Londyns preschool. From our very first evaluation, Shontaye was very professional warm and welcoming. She identified all of Londyns deficiencies and devised a plan best suited for Londyn to succeed. Shontaye worked with Londyn 2-3 times weekly for over a year. Together they worked on reading exercises and making Londyn aware of which sounds come from throat or the roof of her mouth. Shontaye also reinforced positive techniques such as reminding Londyn to speak like a turtle (because she spoke very fast) so that she can be better understood. That is actually a technique that we still use to date and I've made her current teachers aware of. Shontaye created a solid foundation for Londyn to be conscientious of her pronunciation and speed in which she speaks. Londyn has developed confidence and is less frustrated when speaking in public. Londyn has had two speaking parts at her school in front of large audiences and I believe that is all attributed to Having Our Say. Thank you for time flexibility in schedule and efforts. They both have strong education backgrounds, and have been at LHMS for 5 + years, and recently bought the school from the sorta shady guy that previously owned the school. The school is set up in 2 large classrooms - the Acorn Room is set up for the the 2.5 y/os - 3 yr/0, and the Oak Room is for the 3-6 yr olds. It's a nice set up so the super young kids don't feel overwhelmed by the older kids, and the older kids have a sense of accomplishment moving on to the Big Room . There is a pretty nice, mulched playground out back for the kids can burn off some energy during the day. I knew nothing of the Montessori system when my first child started there, but it's really kinda cool. The students are given a lot of autonomy for such a young age -- they are gently guided through age-appropriate tasks & lessons, where they work independently or in small groups. Not only are they learning counting, letters, shapes, sizes etc--- the things you'd expect your kids to learn in preschool, but they are also learning to self-motivate, work independently and work in small groups --- all great life lessons. My older 2 children are thriving in public school in great part to the skills, confidence, independence and education they gathered at Long Hill Montessori. I highly recommend this school !

She started out in the Acorn room with the schools' youngest students, and like many of her peers, she was weary to leave her mommy at three years old. Her teachers showed her such compassion and patience that within a matter of days she was eager to get through the gate in the mornings and excited to tell me about her day when I came to pick her up each afternoon. Over the course of the three years she was enrolled in LHMS, our entire family noticed such a change in her! She went from clinging to my legs at family gatherings to confidently looking adults in the eye and playing with other children. I remember how quickly she learned the alphabet, the sounds each letter makes, counting, cultures from around the world, the environment, animals and their habitats - I mean, you name it - and I am so grateful for that strong foundation because she now does her homework with such ease, making the whole school experience so much more pleasant! My youngest child is now in the Acorn room and absolutely loves it! The teachers have a way of making school so fun, that he went from crying every morning to literally running to get in the car to see them. It's the personal touches - the way they patiently help him settle down to nap, the way they brush off an accident instead of dwelling or shaming, they even personalize the school's annual fundraiser so parents have an idea of which gifts would be best suited for their child in particular. A couple times I had some disciplinary issues and they took the time to help guide me through my kids' changing emotions, giving me advice and listening to concerns; I truly consider them like a co-parent! You can tell that the staff at LHMS really love what they do, they genuinely care for the kids, they're not just supervising them or teaching them, they're caring for them in a holistic way. Each day they're offered healthy snacks, guided through the work to make sure they're on track academically, and given the affection and attention each individual kid needs, and believe me, my kids can be a handful, they demand a LOT of attention! As my students thrived academically and socially my hard work did not go unseen by the parents, nor staff. However one staff member Ms. Jessica constantly would praise my efforts. Ms. Jessica ( program teacher leader) is one of the most patient, kindest understanding and inclusive leader that I have ever know. She will make you feel everyday appreciated and valued (and she respects all working mothers and the challenges that they face). Never have a worked at a job and a leader would tell me thank you everyday when I leave work. Therefore between Ms. Jessica ( leadership, and support), my co teacher Ms.M who always kept students, safe, engaged and came up with fun activities, and was her student's biggest educational cheer leader, and Ms, S always smiling, bringing use coffee and giving use food. I would say if you want to be happy , and valued going to a job every day springdale is the job for you. I enrolled my 2.5 year old child here and we had to pull out in a month's time due to negligence in many aspects. I am ok with that too but Regina, who runs the center, absolutely gives no value to your feedback ignoring everything you say. We are vegetarians and we explictly told not to share his food. To our surprise, they still let kids share food. I understand that it can happen with kids being kids. When we spoke to Regina, she absolutely ignored us. No parent will appreciate kids sharing food in daycare during COVID. There were multiple instances where kids did not wash hands after playing outside. Last Wednesday, my son came home compaining stomach ache which was followed by fever the very same night. We called doctor and they asked us to watch out till Friday but it did not improve. We went to Doc's office Saturday and got result Tuesday and turned out COVID positive. Nobody ever called us to check why my child was not coming to Daycare. Still, we called and informed daycare that my child was tested COVID positive. Next day, we checked with our friend whose child goes to same daycare but they did not inform them either to keep watch. If you are looking for daycare around East Brunswick, I suggest look for alternatives.

But I had such peace of mind leaving my one year old with the incredible staff at Lightbridge. The front office staff, teachers, and assistants were all the most lovely people and took such wonderful care of my baby. I loved that they had a well thought out curriculum and an excellent app where I could see updates about naps, feedings, diaper changes, photos, and videos. I also loved that they had a lunch option. It made my life so much easier to not worry about packing a lunch every day! They also had cute activities on some weekends, like "mommy and me" pictures. The center is very clean, and they take health and safety seriously. I'm so sad that we had to move and couldn't continue sending our daughter and any future children to this center.

If your child has been in daycare and basically a well behaved kids then you have no issues. But if your child has never been in a day care setting and me need time to assimilate, this place is not for you. They will blame your child for any negativity and not mention any positives to you. So I made the decision to withdraw my child. We only got here since other preferred schools we were on waiting list. It was an unfortunate experience.
