This new tea shop is originally from Marikina, where the main flagship store still stands. It's frequented by students and locals from the area over there, but here in the mall, it's quickly become a spot for small groups, barkadas, and solo diners looking for a place to hang out. If there's one thing lacking in this truly spartan mall, it's places to sit back with a simple drink where you can actually relax or do some work. There are no coffee shops, tea shops, whatsoever. So the arrival of Theolly is pretty advantageous! They'll have the market cornered if they play their cards right. They have an easy to spot location too: as soon as you go up the escalator/elevator on the west wing of the 3rd floor, there it is. The minimalist, somewhat industrial design, with grey walls, black tables & chairs, and wood accents are really quite attractive. Finally a place in this mall where you can sit with your laptop and enjoy your drink in peace.
It was a little disappointing to learn that it was a regular milk tea place (the ambience and the logo had me thinking it was a real tea shop). Although it's not on their menu, the girl at the counter said they could still serve me regular tea and remove the "milk" part of it, but it'll be charged the same price as the milk teas. Oh well. The bestseller was this Wintermelon thing, but I got the peppermint milk tea (yea, still with the milk), and it wasn't bad! At least it wasn't as frilly as those other milk teas. I can imagine it tasting even better as pure peppermint tea. Must try asking for that next time! read more
