When I was six years old, I went to Dr. Ted's office to get a cavity filled. When I got to the back room, the assistant told me they were going to use this fun thing called the "Butterfly Wrap." I quickly found that the Butterfly Wrap was a heavy, restraint-jacket-like wrap that held my arms at my side and kept me from moving. I suffer from claustrophobia, so I quickly started to hyperventilate and cry. Instead of asking what was wrong or telling me that I was okay, he told me to stop crying and continued to operate. I still have nightmares about it ten years later.
This isn't an isolated incident. One of the last times I went there, I was nervous to get a cavity filled. I asked if I could use the bathroom to wash my face and try to get my thoughts straight, and he said okay. While I was in the bathroom, my nose started bleeding. We tried to get to stop, but couldn't. Dr. Ted then yelled at me for stalling and blamed me for why I couldn't get the procedure that day. He gave me a perscription that would make me, in his own words, "Gumby."
To anybody who is considering taking their kids to Dr. Croll, I would not only recommend you not to take them to him, I would beg you not to for their sake. If you already take your kids to him or have in the past, feel free to ask them about their experience, excluding the gold dollar you would get at the end of an appointment. read more
