The secretary at Amwell dental heard my symptoms and made time for me straight away. Throughout my visit, I was met with such wonderful, competent, professional and friendly staff. Special thanks to Dr Jacob, who was incredibly skilled and patient, and took time to explain everything to me in detail. Lisa, the hygienist, made me feel at ease, and did a great job as well. I love the hygienists here too (and I've seen 3-4 now). I have never found any of the staff to be rude; they have all taken care of me quickly and kindly. I don't think I've ever waited past 10 minutes either. I usually do show up to my appointments a few minutes early so I'm usually seen on time. This dentist office has a great teeth whitening program too - one time $99 fee (to get a mold of your teeth for custom trays) and whitening gel as long every time you show up for your routine cleaning - it's a super good deal!! This dentist office was recommended to me and I'll continue recommending them as well!

They tried to convince me to stay by saying, "it's not covered but you only need to pay a 'in-network rate'," even though they couldn't estimate the cost of the surgery. When I was on the operating table a month later, they informed me that I only needed to pay $630. I was already seated; what can I do now? At that time, I paid in full. That being said, a year later, I received a bill informing me that I needed to pay an extra $288 to make up the difference between the insurance payment. I would now be paying more than $900 in total. The procedure would only have cost Horizon BCBS $350 out of pocket if they had simply told me to leave and find another dentist. Update: The manager, Arianna, called me, and we walked through everything. I consider the issue solved, as we both did what we can in this situation.

We were due to leave town the next day, so we needed to get into someone ASAP. I called around town. Unfortunately the pediatric dentist wasn't open and the first people to get an appointment for my son was Lapinski Dental. We saw Dr. Robert that morning. My son is special needs and has a lot of anxiety. He had a tooth infection and needed to be numbed. When my son saw that needle he became very scared and started to cry. That sent Dr. Robert into a tailspin and he began yelling at my son. He yelled "stop crying right now!" "You did this to yourself! I didn't do it! I should be the one crying!" He then threatened to make me leave the room if he didn't stop crying. I guess Dr. Robert thought that would work, but it only made my already terrified son cry harder. I felt awful for him. We felt thoroughly humiliated and I just wanted to apologize profusely to my son for making him see that man. The good news is that Dr. Robert did temporarily fix my son's tooth until we could get into the pediatric dentist for a permanent fix. It was just a really awful experience getting there.

Lisa does a fantastic job! She is professional, pleasant and enjoyable, gentle and thorough, and gets everything done quickly. When I ask questions Lisa provides great information. Dr. Rago is also excellent. He is always professional and very pleasant, and checks to make sure all of my dental needs are addressed. When I have questions he explains everything clearly and understandably. I especially like that Dr. Rago doesn't do work unless it's needed - he keeps track of anything that looks like it could become an issue, and gives you the option of making choices that work best for you without undue pressure. The staff at Hillsborough Dental Center is also excellent. They are professional and conscientious. I can always reach someone when I need to, and when I leave messages they call back quickly.
