I've had 2 appointments with Dr. Soffer's office so far: a cleaning/consultation to see what needed…read morework, and a follow up to begin taking care of some problem areas. Both began only a couple minutes after the official start time, which was a nice surprise (I expected a longer wait). Further, in both cases someone checked in with me right at the start time to let me know I'd be up shortly. All of the staff were very friendly which went a long way toward putting me at ease. As someone who hadn't visited the dentist in 10 years, and had built up a pretty scary idea of what was waiting for me, I left both appointments feeling really good about my situation. Colleen did my first day cleaning and x-rays, and really could not have been sweeter. She explained everything as she went, and just had a wonderful bedside manner overall. Dr. Soffer introduced himself toward the end of this appointment and went over a couple things that needed attention, complete with hand drawn pictures to illustrate. Ken has a great, lightheartedness about him and really succeeded in putting me at ease as we talked through future treatments. For my second appointment, Dr. Soffer rebuilt an old cavity, and placed a temporary crown on an old root canal while the permanent crown is being created at the lab. There isn't much you can do while you're in the chair other than look at the ceiling, but Ken does a great job of checking in periodically to make sure you're comfortable and all is well. 90 minutes and all done. It's amazing how far dental technology has come. I know I shouldn't have waited so long to make it back to the dentist, but I am glad the waiting caused me to find Dr. Soffer's practice. It feels like a lie to even suggest this, but I'm actually looking forward to my next appointment to continue getting my teeth back in great shape.

Dr. Jester is a general dentist taking orthodontic courses at US dental institute, a place for general dentist to learn orthodontics to make more money. He did orthodontics works on me and it was such a bad job that I needed to go to real orthodontist to fix it few years later. The bite wasn't right and the back of my teeth were attached by a wire to keep them from moving and of course few years later the wire broke. He also did ortho works on one of my family members and it resulted in recessed gums that needs to be fixed by real orthodontist, again right? He also did some fillings on our family, Every time my family needed fillings, we always got numb, not sure it's necessary or not. I know that for every shot , he got more money. Please before you get a major work done by this dentist and his partner, get second opinion if you don't want to pay it in the long run. Sure, he captured me with using laser to do all of his work, but he's still a dentist! Seriously, he is one of only twenty one master's of the academy for laser dentistry in the world, the whole wide world! He is also one of the only dentists around who use the velscope which detects cancer under the surface of the mouth. He is into whitening programs, where he can do it for you or you can purchase supplies to do it at home. Unless you are a bad patient like I am, he will always use laser to clean your teeth and get rid of any signs of decay. If you are a good patient you will never hear the hums of those drills, feel the scraping for tartar and never have to spit blood again.
