The owner and her daughter don't appear to want new customers. When we visited during the summer they were sitting outside and didn't bother to come in or acknowledge my husband or me when we entered the store. They have a nicely curated collection but without any interest or assistance it is not a pleasant shopping experience. I'm sorry to say I'm a glutton for punishment. Have shopped there many times. Like to think the staff has warmed up to me a little...They carry a few brands that I love that aren't carried anywhere else in the valley so I usually stop there to see what they have. I found a great flannel top that was REALLY pricey...but I loved it so I bought it anyways. It was the only style of shirt left. Late last night I went to that brands e-commerce shop....Low and behold my shirt which I paid $695 in the store (regular price on vendor website was $495 and is now on sale for $346.50.) If I hadn't have worn it already I would have returned it and bought it directly from the vendor. I am more curious why it was marked up a whole $200 more than the MSRP?? Beautiful store, but if I could give zero stars I would. The fiancé and I walked in, by no means dressed head to toe in designer clothing but dressed for a day of shopping, casual but pulled together I like to think. The girl in the store didn't even acknowledge that we were there. She greeted a delivery person as we were walking in but never said a word to us. The store is lovely and really beautifully put together with a mix of high end labels. We walked around for a bit and still, not a word. Even as we walked toward the door taking time to look at a number of pieces, she continued to ignore us. I understand it may get frustrating working in a resort city as a number of shoppers are "just looking", but to not even give someone the preliminary hello to investigate their needs is just inappropriate. Even worse, we mentioned having a terrible customer service experience at another local business and they knew who we were speaking of before we even mentioned the name. It's sad to me that people think its ok to act like this regardless of the product they're providing. Even if I had the resources to buy everything in the store, I never would because customer service is worth so very much more than anything else in a shopping experience! read more

My friend- from San Francisco- and I tried to shop at Theodore's yesterday, but even though we were the only customers in the shop, we could not gain the attention of either of the employees. One sat next to a pile of jeans and continued to eat a salad while we looked at clothes. We asked her if she had other sizes in a top that was on a mannequin, and all she said was "No." No wonder there were no other people in the shop! I love Theodore, it's a beautiful store and carries my favorite brands. They have really great Italian brands and the best women's ski clothes in sun valley. I've been shopping here for over 10 years. The owner and her daughter always know what to dress me in and have helped me pick out great key pieces for my wardrobe. It's hard not to want everything in the store! It is pricey but so is Neiman Marcus, this is like a capsule collection in a boutique format of what's cool each season. read more

Two weeks ago I attempted to go into Theodore because the clothes in the window were some of the brands I love. The entry was semi- blocked by boxes of new merchandise being being unpacked by store employees, or owner. They looked me up and down and I guess decided I wasn't worthy of entering the store and made no attempt to clear a path for me. They didn't even acknowledge me. Unbelievable. read more

On top of the fact "salesperson" obviously had little interest despite no one else in the store, I realized lyrics of music being played contained the "f---" expletive several times. The markup at this store is insane. I found a gorgeous scarf around $700, checked it out on FarFetch and found it for $346. Don't buy anything here without checking online first, even all the AG jeans and Majestic shirts can all be found online for 30% less at full retail. The fact that they also no longer have price tags on any clothing is also extremely pretentious. I agree with the other reviewer. I walked in there after a manicure and not one of the sales staff acknowledged me. It reminded me of the scene in pretty woman, where she had tons of money to spend, but got the cold shoulder. Maybe the sales staff should have looked closer at my Celine bag, Solid gold Cartier watch instead of Lulu Lemon sweats. I can get the same stuff at Nordstrom, but without the attitude.. read more
