Atomic Garage is an amazing vintage clothing and vintage store in the trendy area in Des Moines... the owner/manager is super chill and a fun person who takes her vintage clothes seriously. Their selection is awesome and reasonably priced for how rare some of it is. It's definitely a great place to stop in when you're in town... and an even better place to stop in when you need a badass outfit to go to a formal event with. It's super well organized and just an overall fun store to walk around. The only reason I took a star off is because some of the stuff isn't for sale. It's only for rent... and that disappointed me. I don't live in town, so I couldn't rent the incredible options of suits/tuxedos that they sell there.

The gown selection was one of the best I have seen, and they had a wide variety of sizes which I appreciated to really see how the gown will look in real life. The dresses are split up by price point, making it very easy to stay within your budget going into it. I cannot wait for my gown to come in! The person at the front was okay...but not very personable. The manager (I assume) came out a bit later and he was a little better. On site stock was low as far as the white dress uniform shirts. Not sure if this is the case with everything... The show room itself is pretty nice. The space is clean and the available stock in the front of the store is displayed well. The staff are UBER friendly and ridiculously helpful! I have been there a handful of times over the years and yesterday when I was there Cindy came up to me to tell me about the necklace brand that I like.
