I needed flex office space for six months when opening the New York office of our business and…read moreBevmax was absolutely perfect! I spent a few weeks scouting out shared locations, but was disappointed to find that much of the competition offered incredibly high prices for small or under-equipped spaces. We are a growing company, so I didn't want to spend money on unnecessary coffee bars, pool tables, and other features that were common in other spaces. In addition, I spend much of the day on the phone or video conferences, so needed a truly private and quiet space, which many competitors simply don't offer. Fortunately, Bevmax offered very competitive rates and flexible terms, along with everything we needed as a company. The Columbus Circle location was perfect for me and offered very attractive spaces to host clients and hold meetings. I had a private office with generous space, all at rates below what competitors were charging. The secretary is very professional, and the kitchen, meeting spaces, and photocopiers are all exactly what I needed. I highly recommend that anyone who is looking to save money on an exceptional office space strongly consider Bevmax!

The 2nd floor bathroom looks like something no woman would ever want to use with its ugly, exposed pipes. It completely killed my interest in wanting to be there. Most interesting is the fact that no one from management is there full time. (This would never be tolerated downtown. Ever.) Well, not exactly no one. Some guy named Akex called after i personally visited and some one let me in. I had to wait hours for a returned phone call and it seems you must show up when it's convenient for them. There are a few members if that's what they're called, but the space is largely empty. Their rates, attitude of the management, gaping hole in the plaster in the upstairs bathroom make this an extremely hard sell. They'll have to do better than this. Much better.

Workville changed the game for me since leaving NYC due to COVID…read more My company office is in NYC but has been shut down since March and I ended up moving back to California, but my team is still in NYC. What am I going to do when traveling back to NYC and have no office to work from? Cue Workville and boy did they deliver. The location in mid-town is central to anywhere I need to travel to in NYC. Plenty of food options around and safety is paramount at Workville. Hand sanitizer is available throughout, counters are wiped down constantly, Workville residents respect mask-wearing in public areas. Most importantly, support is on hand at all times with Sue, Sabrina, and DJ. If you ask nice enough, they will even let you play your own personal Spotify playlist so you play DJ for your office mates. I love Workville not just for their office layout, nor the wrap-around outdoor deck from the 21st floor, or the free coffee... it's a vibe. A vibe that I need and crave when I visit NYC. As "Ahnuld" said it best, "I'll be back!"

Also, they've recently expanded to take up two floors of the 1412 Broadway building, so there's plenty of room! Oh, and one of the best amenities of all are the balconies that look over the Manhattan skyline. You can sit out there to do a bit of work, have a call, or eat lunch... what a breathtaking view! As you might guess, Workville has many of the amenities you would expect from a coworking site--from complimentary coffee and espressos to private call rooms for escaping noise during business calls. Note that I'm still trying to talk them into free bubbly and vodka after work hours... but one of these days. =) Drop by Workville if you're looking for a new office space. Sue and/or DJ are super friendly and will show you around and give you all the deets. Once you see the space and talk to members of the community, you'll be hooked!

The office space itself is ok, but don't expect to get your security deposit back. Plus at one…read morepoint they experienced flooding from the ceiling which made several offices unusable including mine, and I was forced to still pay for it even though I couldn't use it, and not only that they made me stay at least another month due to their 30 day cancellation policy, which obviously should only apply if you can actually use the office, not if they've failed to provide usable space. Surprise, surprise, come the coronavirus pandemic it turns out they are doing something similar on mass scales, keeping everyone's security deposits to pay for extra months after cancellations. Obviously its an unusual time, but its keeping in line with their existing policies. They steal whatever they think they can get. If you are considering renting office pace in the future when they reopen, remember how they treated people during an emergency, many of whom are out of work and now unreasonably forced to forego security deposits and charged for months after their cancellations. This is not a business that deserves to survive. UPDATE: Just over a year after I stopped doing business with them, I received a random email thanking me for "my payment" and saw a corresponding $700 charge on my credit card. I called them up and apparently they have some sort of error where their system has suddenly charged all their former members and (the person that I spoke to claimed) also making extra charges to current members. Before I left I had made a point of removing my credit card from their system, and the man I just spoke to on the phone said I do not have a payment method on file, but maybe there is an "archived" payment method. Well, there must be something since the charge showed up in my credit card account. So not only does this company make random charges, but they do not remove your payment methods when you ask them to. I had to cancel the card to avoid this happening again, but this place has just become the most scammy business I've ever encountered. If this error were the only time, it could be a genuine mistake, but as this is now the *third* time they've tried to scam money from me it's an obvious pattern. Like I said, they try to find any way to steal your money they can. You'll notice the only positive reviews for this company are from long ago and generally about the building itself (which is the only reason it doesn't get 0 stars, the company itself is as bad as a company can be), I think the company must have been going downhill since even before the pandemic and since then they just gave up any pretense of being a legitimate business. Avoid this company at all costs. You will regret doing business with them.

The Cons - The private offices are very small, especially relative to the price. In a private office, a person gets space for their desk and themselves, but not much beyond that. - The noise level is high because the walls are thin and there's lots of old building clanking noises.

Disappointing experience with The Farm Soho. My concern was not with having policies or…read moreexpectations, it was with the lack of clear, written guidance and how the situation was handled. I contacted Ray and later Samuel Poku regarding a policy issue and requested a copy or reference to the specific written policy being applied. Instead of providing the requested policy language, I was told that a separate detailed policy was not required and that the general rule applied. If a coworking space is going to issue warnings or threaten to terminate a member's access, the standards being enforced should be clearly defined and available in writing. Additionally, when a space advertises 24/7 access, using the amount of time a member spends in the workspace as a point of concern creates confusion unless there are clearly stated limits or guidelines. The back-and-forth communication took significant time away from the purpose of having a workspace. I ultimately decided the membership was not the right fit for my needs and canceled. I would expect a professional coworking space to provide clear policies, transparent communication, and consistent expectations for its members.

After a half-dozen visits I'm not prepared to give more stars, but mad kudos for caring about your business and how it appears to the general public. Initial review: No toilet paper, no way to wash or dry your hands in multiple bathrooms, no tea, no sugar, the most disgusting microwave I've ever seen, bad lighting, thin walls, uncomfy desks and chairs.
