Proceed with extreme caution if considering any gynecological procedures here, especially hysterectomies. They skipped basic standard-of-care steps, like performing necessary imaging beforehand, which could have caught issues or confirmed the need for surgery. Instead, I felt medically gaslighted--my concerns were dismissed, and the full scope of the procedure wasn't transparently explained. Despite final pathology reports showing no cancer, tumors, disease, or any medical justification, (only clinical guesses) they removed my uterus and cervix without properly informing me in advance. This wasn't just an oversight; it feels like a loophole they've exploited, leading to irreversible damage including incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction that have drastically impacted my quality of life. The informed consent process was inadequate--doctors didn't clearly disclose that the cervix would be removed as part of a "total" hysterectomy, even when it wasn't warranted. Always, always get a second opinion from an independent provider before agreeing to anything. Request a witness or have someone present at all appointments and during consent discussions to ensure everything is documented accurately. The PCTs (Kele on the 16th floor) who checked in and advocated for us. The nurses who kept us informed, comfortable, educated, and on track with the care. Especially Chad (floor 16) who was our primary day nurse. He is exceptional! I gave 4 stars because I do think doctors and specialists could benefit from refresher on bedside manner. It is not what they say, it's how they say it. Patients are human beings who are doing their best and instead of going straight into lectures, how about seeking to understand them first.

He has more than once made himself available specially for me when something needed handling and schedules with travel or work were making it difficult. Working with Joshua feels like a genuine partnership on my health and he's helped talk me through concerns about certain medication types that I was hesitant to try but ultimately resulted in some of my health markers being better than they have ever been in my life. In person, she looks nothing like her profile picture on the Polyclinic site; she walked into the exam room with her colorful tattoos and a sundress, and I was immediately more comfortable. Normally my social anxiety around beautiful people would kick in, but she was super personable, and actually listened to me. A mentor of mine once told me that "if you listen to your patients, actually listen, they will give you the keys to the castle". She actually did, and she stated that I needed to get a diagnostic ultrasound, STAT. When that came back negative for what we were looking for, she even sent me back for another. Eventually we determined the diagnosis, and while there is no immediate solution to my issues, the understanding of what is going on with me has reduced my stress levels. Dr. Thompson is the kind of doctor I wish I knew outside of the doctor - patient relationship... wait, that sounds creepy! What i mean to say is that she's a great balance of "human" and "professional", and I'll choose her each time going forward. Find out something important I needed to inform them about and felt a 5 minute zoom call would get across what texting them wasn't and was basically told without being told by the ARNP (I never met "my doctor") that I was assigned that it was a waste of their time and needed to stick to MyChart. Wasn't happy but they're busy, I'm not at immediate risk so... Okay. That was in June or July when they scheduled me for a bunch of infusions to then do labs and see where things were at and how to go forward in September. And they did. But since September I've heard nothing. I had to send them a note to remind them I had an infusion they wanted coming up in October and no response except a scheduling call that was panicked and last minute on their end and get my October labs and infusion. No messages about the lab results or their plans going forward. No calls from scheduling. No infusion this month because I'm not their babysitter and it's clear they don't care. I'm sure reminders pop up in their system. So if you're really sick maybe you'll get adequate care and not be ghosted for 2 months and have to take over their scheduling reminders for them and if you end up in the infusion center you'll be treated really well. But honestly I wouldn't take the chance.

At that time we begged for surgery and radiation but they always refused because their results were indeterminate. They waited and waited until it was way too late to do anything. After the cancer had metastasized the oncologist admitted that their last biopsy was a fail, they did not take a big enough sample. They had no trials or anything else to offer her. They told us to go elsewhere. After that we tried MDAnderson and City of Hope, but they told us it was too late. I feel that had we went to a quality hospital first her chances would have been astronomically better.

At this point, I think we've seen all of the doctors and had excellent medical care. My concerns are listened to with kindness, empathy, and understanding. We've been there for colds, viruses, alllllll the Covid tests during the pandemic, broken bones, pneumonia, mental health concerns, and more complicated problems. There is an in-house xray machine, radiologist, bloodwood, vaccine clinic, and probably more. The front desk staff have been friendly. The lobby and medical rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is easy access and we love grabbing lunch or coffee after a doctor's appointment.

Thank God I had insurance. The whole process was seamless, and my share of the entire procedural costs was extremely reasonable, and I have no problems going here again or recommending them to anyone who needs hip replacement surgery or any other serious medical need. They really do care, and I saw nothing but patient-centered concern at every level. Even the food was delicious, and no, it's not served on a boot-camp style aluminum tray. They have their own restaurant, and you get to order off a real menu like you were eating out. I won't hesitate to go to Swedish again, and I know another surgery is coming up. The billing department is also very understandable and pleasant to deal with, which scores big points in my book when I happen to be down for the moment. But not forever!

He wouldn't prescribe a muscle relaxer as I had fallen and apparently he called it a muscular problem in the neck. The worse, upon arrival was my blood pressure 189/67. It was never checked again and they sent me home with these numbers...WHAT!!! Most of the time several hung out at there desks talking and laughing with no one every coming to see how i was doing!!! NEVER will I come to this ER again!!!
