Staff have been extraordinarily helpful via email to answer my 'I'm not a wood worker' questions about recycled lumber products for a table top I want to build. Prices are competitive, selection is great and they know what they are talking about. Would I return: Yes. Would I recommend: Yes.

It's a higher quality establishment, where you will pay for what you get, and be happy with the results. The service is good, and the staff is friendly and helpful. After looking and looking, going from hardware store to hardware store across the city, finding tiles that were not quite right, we finally caved in to come in and look at what these guys had to offer. I have to be honest though: at least one of the hardware stores told us the same thing they told us here - you couldn't walk away with the product; they had to order it in from somewhere else and it took time (a week or two, at most). So if you're laying tiles, take the time to plan for enough time to complete the work. Still, this establishment had some of the nicest displays we saw anywhere; it was well worth the trip out here. In our particular case, we brought a piece of the existing tile to compare with, so that we could find a complementary colour. This worked well for us.

The product is comparable to what you will find elsewhere, and there is nothing special about the…read morepricing. Buyers need to beware that they have a non-published 30-day return policy on any excess tile. The count for that 30 days is as soon as the tile arrives in their warehouse, not when you receive it. Customer service is horribly lacking and exceptionally short-sighted. I would not buy again. Many other choices in Ottawa that are more customer focused.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Used to be a Lowe's now a RONA+…read more Good for hardware and home improvement stuff. The plants in their garden centre aren't in the best shape :( The Long Version: I don't know the full history, but once upon a time, Lowe's, RONA and Home Depot were the big box home improvement stores in Canada. Then Lowe's bought RONA and converted some RONA stores into Lowe's stores, then Lowe's decided to pull out of Canada and sold its Canadian stores to a firm called Sycamore Partners so some Lowe's locations in Canada became RONA+ stores and the rest closed down. So there are still RONA stores around, but the ownership is different from the RONA of days past. This RONA location used to be a Lowe's. Home improvement/hardware stores are not my favourite types of stores, but my husband and father love these types of stores. However, I recently got into houseplants, so whenever my husband and I go to these types of stores to look for home improvement stuff, I go to the garden centre to check out the plants. When I went in March, the plant selection was small and they had some small succulents that were in really rough shape. All etiolated and some leaves were yellowing/browning really bad :( They had some larger succulents in better shape and some cacti that seemed to be doing well. Selection was small in general and in general the plants were in poorer shape here than at other big box stores. The rest of the store looked fine and my husband found what he was looking for. So overall I would say this location is good for home improvement stuff, but not indoor plants from my experience. Lots of free parking. Review #87 (2025)
