It came with a salad with my choice of dressing and another side of the typical choices (fries, baked potato, mashed potatoes, etc.). The salad was average. It had a few bits of wilted lettuce but the dressing was good. The mashed potatoes had the consistency of the boxed stuff, and the gravy was bland. Didn't quite hit the spot. I actually enjoyed the steak. It had a slight charbroiled smell and flavor which I like, and it was a bit on the rare side, which I also like. After finishing my meal my waitress still had not spoken a word to me, but she had conversed with other tables that seemed to be occupied by locals. "The usual, darling?" You know, that kind of talk. So at the end of my meal I decided to conduct an experiment: leave a sizeable tip visible to the waitress before leaving and see if her mood will change. Green curry chicken was also about average. They do have some weak points. The standard American breakfast items were underwhelming, not as good as you'd find at an average diner. The locals seem to really frequent the place and often stop by for lunch, or to meet friends over a bite. You will find, at a premium price, excellent cuts of cod, salmon, halibut and crab in their freezers. Pacific Cod Fish and Chips: I found the cod to be absolutely fresh, knowing very well that it was caught in local waters. Three pieces were served up with fries and two plastic containers of tartar sauce. I was absolutely full and happy with the fish, despite the outside lacking a crispy texture. Why? Because it was the freshest fried fish I had in a while. The fries were a little too salty for my liking, but they were nice and warm for a cold day in Petersburg. Their hours are restricted, closing up around 2:30pm in the day, so you may want to see this as your lunch spot. It is connected to the fish processing place, which is their bread and butter and secondly a place to eat.
