Located right in the center of town, you'll find a variety of fish available for export, taking home and on the spot at Coastal Cold Storage. The locals seem to really frequent the place and often stop by for lunch, or to meet friends over a bite. You will find, at a premium price, excellent cuts of cod, salmon, halibut and crab in their freezers. Pacific Cod Fish and Chips: I found the cod to be absolutely fresh, knowing very well that it was caught in local waters. Three pieces were served up with fries and two plastic containers of tartar sauce. I was absolutely full and happy with the fish, despite the outside lacking a crispy texture. Why? Because it was the freshest fried fish I had in a while. The fries were a little too salty for my liking, but they were nice and warm for a cold day in Petersburg. Their hours are restricted, closing up around 2:30pm in the day, so you may want to see this as your lunch spot. It is connected to the fish processing place, which is their bread and butter and secondly a place to eat. Do not bring fish here for processing... wasn't told a price per pound when fish was dropped off and then when I picked up my 37lbs of rock fish... 215 bucks!!! NOT WORTH IT!!! Take your business down the road to Tonka. 2.50 per lb. read more

The fish and chips were outstanding and very fresh. The customer service is really good and friendly. We were next door having drinks and they brought our food to us in the bar. If you find yourself in Petersburg, Alaska, I am gonna assume you like fresh seafood. If you do, this place had been around for 100 years, originally processing fish, they also now package your catch, and for us foodies, they cook that fresh fish in a small deli-like atmosphere with tables inside and outside. I had been dealing with Coastal for 6 years and had 0 issues. This year we dealt with "Tom" and he has lost our annual business. He stated he "wanted the fish brought in whole. He said it cost us more money that way then proceeded to tell him it was more work for him to do it the way we had for 6 years. He was very unprofessional and rude. It was the first bad experience I have had from any business in 6 years in Petersburg. I would suggest looking elsewhere for business until the management issue is corrected. read more

My favorite part of this establishment was eating lunch here. The food was very good. The other part I liked about this place is after a day of fishing, Doug the manager, was waiting for us at the dock where he took our Halibut catch to Coastal Cold Storage to process for shipping back to Nebraska. While here for summer work this place has made me fall in love with their shrimpys. Imagine a shrimp Mcmuffin but I'll always order two because one just wasn't enough. They do walk up deliveries if you don't plan on eating in their restaurant but next door over inside the Harbor bar which was very convenient. I also enjoyed their shrimp burgers because its also filling. Inside they have premade sandwiches, salads, drinks and smoked salmon to grab from their fridge. If you are more than of fan of this place they also offer merchandise such as sweaters and beanies as souvenirs to sport. read more

I was in Petersburg for a few days and had a chance to eat here a few times. Everything I ate was great (the burger, ruben and biscuits and gravy), if you only had time for one meal I recommend the ruben hands down. read more

Good food, good coffee, and free Internet! What more do you need? Well, a little more seating would be nice and would have got them 5 stars from me. This place is very popular in the morning for breakfast so it was busy every time I went there. Other than the library, it is one of the only places in town to use the Internet. This is important for visiting boaters. The library doesn't open until noon either. read more

Always grab breakfast here when I'm in Petersburg but never checked in as it is listed as a Seafood market. It does sell an impressive array of frozen seafood, but it's the best spot in town for breakfast as well. read more

I can't say anything bad here. Food was very good. Ate there 3 times in 4 days. The halibut beer bits and halibut parmesan sandwich were fantastic also halibut tacos. Very nice staff. Busy place- lots of the processors get stuff to go from them. They processed our catch to take home very professionaly. I highly recommend them. read more
