Had a good time tasting wine and beer with my wife in here last night. Arick was super friendly and was super chill to talk to. We had a really good time in here and will definitely come back! read more

Great service and better wine! My group had a fantastic time. It was the highlight of our trip!

Trish set up a romantic experience for my girlfriend with a custom wine bottle with our picture on it, cheese & charcuterie and helped surprise her while I couldn't be there. Thank you for arranging everything and making me look like a rockstar! read more

My boyfriend and I had a date night here last week and it was so much fun! We each had 6 tastings, which were nice sizes (I think 50mL) and order a cheese board. The wine was great, food was great, atmosphere was incredible, and price wasn't bad - I think we spent about $100 total. I definitely recommend! read more

My husband hosted my birthday party here last night and it was fantastic! Carrie covered every detail from the delicious appetizers; tortellini caprese skewers, Butch's sausages, stuffed mushrooms, goat cheese with marmalade, meatballs, and so much more! The selection of local wines and brews was excellent, and the staff was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Carrie, Nate, Stevie, and Eric, thank you for helping me turn 60 with family and friends in a comfortable, awesome environment! Cheers! read more

Interesting wines, not much for the atmosphere or service. It felt a little strange- just the vibe. Our server didn't recommend or explain much. We got the pairing with small plates which was set in front of us and something like "left to right on the wines and counterclockwise on the food" was a bit confusing but luckily I had the menu in front of me to reference which went with which. The test tubes are cute. They do have some small plates that looked good- artichoke dip, cheeses etc. the large tv played a loop of nature images- strange. Music was like, oldies. Just didn't get the vibe here. read more

HAVE TO TRY THE BLEND YOUR OWN WINE! It's 96$ for two people, you pick 4 winds to blend into your own concoction, while slowly tasting you just get drunker and drunker, and at the end pick your favorite mix to bottle and take home with you! So worth the experience and money. Thanks to the great staff who helped us out with this one! read more

Fabulous. Good wines in a fun sampling selection, fabulous food (we had the baked Brie - Yum!!) and fantastically friendly service!!

Courteous staff, good location and loved Berry wheat Hazy IPA beer which to me tasted like blend of wine and beer.

We were staying in the hotel across the street and thought it would be fun to do some wine tasting. After entering we went to look at the wines and menu. After 5 minutes no one came out from the back...odd. Then a blonde gal comes out whom was very blah and ask what will we have. My partner asked a bit about the wines and she said well they are wines so what do you want to know. I got the just she was not happy in general but we order a flight. A gentleman worker came in after whom was upbeat and seemed to be having a better day. We finished our flights and headed out for another spot. Vibe 2 stars. Customer service meh! read more

It's a great place. Try the wine mixing experience. We had a great corporate event here.

A cool wine tasting room with good servers and ambiance, but the acoustics are such that it can get annoying loud with echo, plus the whole "taste" premise of mixing wines seems a little silly to me- like making a "suicide soda". And the white wine wasn't even chilled. Not cool. Literally. read more

This is such a unique and quaint place to enjoy a glass or tasting with yummy bar bites. I love their wine on tap. The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Great place to blend a bottle for yourself or as a gift. I stayed at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa which is adjoining Wine Experience. Though it can get crowded depending on the hour, walk-ins are accommodated. read more

The Wine Experience - Wine Bars Near Me - Monterey, California

We live here now. Wine selection makes choosing easy. Lots of places have extensive lists and you have to hope you pick a good one. Here, they're curated by people you can trust. And the food menu is concise but thorough- it'll meet your needs and leave you begging for recipes. Which you'll get, but forget... And then just order in the form of a cookbook written by one of the early founders. We'll be back for the wine blending course. Our own custom blend and label? Merry Christmas, Everyone We Know. read more

Very laid back. The Brie and flatbread appetizers were delicious. We went at happy hour as they were prepping for a large group. Very knowledgeable. Was a bigger fan of the food then the wine but I'm super particular about my wine not a fan of oak whereas my husband enjoyed the wine. read more

I visited The Wine Experience this last weekend, the decor was very nice and the atmosphere was pleasant. The Wine bar had a nice view of all of the wines on tap. The only wines I notice poured out of a bottle were the ports. The staff was nice and seemed knowledgeable. I purchased a few whites and also was given the opportunity to make my own bottle of wine using what was available. They allow you to design the label and everything. I had a meat and cheese platter that was yummy as well as one of their flat bread pizzas which was also delightful. Overall a nice time. Tasting flight of 4 was about $14 and they offer a port flight of 3 at 2oz pours for $20. * industry visitors tasting fee and discounts are waived/given on owners discretion. I was given 2 discounts. A percentage off and an amount off of a 3 bottle purchase. These are not guaranteed. read more

We found this little spot near our hotel because it was the only wine tasting spot open after 7pm. It wasn't worth it. I'm not a wine tasting master, but I've done enough to know that this wine was not good. We tried 8 wines and 3 of them we had to toss. They were sour and seemed like they weren't ready to drink, or they were just cheap. The cheeses on the cheese platter were overshadowed by their jelly and honey. They packed it over the cheese so I couldn't even know how the cheese tastes on its own, or how it reacts with the wine. I'm sure they'll get there, but I wouldn't recommend wine tasting here. read more

Ask for Joshua he is very knowledgeable and friendly. The happy hour menu is a great way to go if it fits your schedule. The Peter B's Porter is fantastic if you like dark Beer. The Mad Otter is a great light beer. Overall this little place has great customer service and you will not be disappointed. read more

Love this place. Great wine. Fun atmosphere. Stays open later and the servers are so much fun!

We went to The Wine Experience on Christmas Eve, not expecting to get in since we arrived at closing time. The gentleman host, Nate, let us in and treated us to some of the best personalized service we have ever experienced. He was a consummate professional and made us feel welcome for a while after, not to mention his exquisite wine and chocolate pairing suggestions, which he let us sample for free! Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town! read more

Walked past this place and decided to give it a try because my group wanted to do some wine tasting. The inside is pretty small, but it's cozy and casual. We got a flight and picked from the flight menu. The wines came in these glass test tubes that I used to use in my chemistry classes, which was kind of cool. Then you had to pour out the wine in another glass. There were two people working that day and they did an okay job. I'm not sure if either of them really knew much about the wines, or if they just memorized what was written on the bottles. I've found that if you get your entire flight at once, there isn't much explanation but more of an assumption that you know what you should be tasting. At other wine tastings, sometimes they bring you the wine one glass at a time and will explain the 'notes' and 'bouquet' and that kind of thing. We also got the cheese platter. It was your standard assortment of cheese and crackers, nothing to go crazy over. If you're looking for a standard wine tasting near cannery row that's casual, I would try this place. It was good, service was good, food was good. read more

Had a great time here. Most wines are the central valley and don't really compare to napa or just wine country wines in general. I did enjoy the violeta port the most out of all of the reds I tried. It's a red dessert wine, so you should have it last. Staff persons were great. Chocolates were fabulous. They let you blend your own wine with reservation made and create your own labels. They also have jenga and chess available as well as go and pick-up sticks. read more

It's a nice "hole in the wall" location, with good ambiance, wine and cheeses. The staff is very friendly and the service is good. Overall I really enjoyed this place. Planned on getting a glass of wine, and ended up having 6 (don't judge me :-)) read more

Was having a me-cation and stopped in for wine tasting. Built my own flight and sat at the bar. The bartender was beyond nice and helpful with my choices. I also had the baked brie while I sipped and I could have licked the plate clean. They have a thing where you can make your own wine blend and I will definitely be doing the drive from SF again, but this time will bring friends. read more

First time trying this place out. My GF and I wanted to try out some wines from the Monterey county and saw this place while walking to Cannery Row. The service was great and the wine selection was good. I would give this place a shot for anyone who wants to try some great wines from Monterey county. read more

Went on a Sunday afternoon, had a great time. Nate was amazing. Did the wine and chocolate pairing, 6 wine flight, toasted almonds, and bread and olive, olive oil board. The wine flights weren't pre-selected so you can pick your own! They do special events throughout the week, would definitely come back to check them out. The wines were fine, but the experience was more than worth it. read more

The bartender was extremely friendly and took time to discuss the wines and offer recommendations. We tried four different wines that's were all amazing read more

This place is a hidden Gem! Arick made the best playlist and was such a sweet guy. He took care of us and made the most of a Tuesday!

Arick was very helpful and recommended a great tasting flight. Also played great music

After a long morning fighting the crowds at the aquarium my BF and I took a nap at the Monterey Plaza Hotel fire pit area... we woke up from our nap dazed and confused and decided to trek further along cannery row. I saw a sign for The Wine Experience across the street and I wanted to check it out. We stopped by and shared a $14 flight which came with 4 pours of whatever wine we wanted. We tried the Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel. All were great except for the Zin... a little strange aftertaste imo, but I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. They have a few small bites on the menu that looked promising, but we weren't hungry enough to order anything. Cute little find on cannery row, definitely worth stopping by again next time. read more

Service was awesome. Stevie was great and went above and beyond. Definitely a great stop for a tasting!!

Great spot with a unique wine experience with good local feel. Wine flights or can mix and match. Arick is the best!

Good happy hour selection as well as beers. The brie appetizer and flatbread are good and this is a nice little break spot along the cannery row. read more

This place is amazing! We had the wine and sausage pairing and it was great! Such a fun atmosphere! They have this really neat thing where you can customs make your own blend of wine! We got a custom label made for the special moment! It was a great atmosphere and so relaxed exactly how a wine bar should be! Staff was friendly, helpful, and not pushy at all! It was all about our experience and it was phenomenal! read more

My husband and I had such a nice experience here! The staff were fun, knowledgeable and friendly. One guy even chatted with us about local things to do and recommended a place for dinner. They had a moderate selection of wine- but surely something for every palette. We shared a tasting flight of 8- and then each had a glass of our favorite. My only regret is not opting for the chocolate pairing flight. We will have to go back and try! read more

We happened upon this wine tasting venue because it was across the street from our hotel. It has a trendy appearance that I assumed I would enjoy. It's a neat concept where you taste or make your own wine. However, the gentleman who waited on us was offensive, condescending, and rude. He made repeated smart aleck comments and even insulted my wedding venue. I have never been so angry by someone. If he thought, I would spend a dime then he is crazy. Our group did a flight but we quickly left after all of the comments. I had hoped to like this place but I was so disappointed. read more

Came in during a visit to Monterey and absolutely loved this place. The wine is amazing, the service is incredible and the experience was awesome. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone! Sarah was super sweet, gave the best recommendations and made our visit totally memorable. And Arick's flatbreads looked amazing and were hands down the best in town!! Not to mention, he's such a crazy good singer (find him on YouTube: Arzadon). This place is an absolute MUST if you're in the area!!! read more

Excellent service, friendly waitress gave perfect service. I think her name was Brianne. They helped me pick a wine, which ended up being a port. It was delicious. The almonds were amazing too. Flatbreads looked great but I didn't order because I wasn't that hungry. read more

Not impressed with customer service, accuracy of order or quality of wine. Won't go back1 overpriced.
