Solid small business. I joined the growler club or whatever you want to call it for my wife because she loves wine. When you come in here, regardless of how many people are actually in the establishment you feel like you are given personal attention. Great place to sample and start out on your local wine trek. Located on cannery row so you can bike, drive, uber, lyft etc. without an issue. This is one of our Monterey staples! read more

We happened upon this wine tasting venue because it was across the street from our hotel. It has a trendy appearance that I assumed I would enjoy. It's a neat concept where you taste or make your own wine. However, the gentleman who waited on us was offensive, condescending, and rude. He made repeated smart aleck comments and even insulted my wedding venue. I have never been so angry by someone. If he thought, I would spend a dime then he is crazy. Our group did a flight but we quickly left after all of the comments. I had hoped to like this place but I was so disappointed. read more

Selection is mediocre, mostly due to their mark up, which I suspect is at least twice the cost of wine purchase at wineries. What a fun place! Not only can you taste wines and watch some games, but you can blend your own wine and put a custom label on it - so cool! The staff was so helpful and friendly, and was attentive as well. Only a year old, they also offer a MILITARY discount which is awesome! Great spot. For a Christmas gift our mom got us a gift certificate to do The Wine Blending Lab here at the Wine Experience for the 4 of us. It was by far one of the coolest gifts we've ever received! Brent, Founder/Owner, walked us through how to blend different wines to create our own bottle to take home. We even got to design our own labels with our favorite photos from our phones. Walked by this place and decided on a whim to go in because I'm a certified wine-o. Loved the price point, loved the atmosphere, and Cassandra was awesome! This place is small but I came on a Tuesday night and sat at the bar. There are a couple beers and bar bites as well. What really stood out was the option to blend your own wine so that was really special! Will definitely be back when I'm back in town! read more

Walked here after visiting the aquarium. When we arrived, my husband and I were the only ones there which was nice because it was nice and quiet. I chose this particular place because I can drink wine and my husband can drink beer. In our case, I don't drink beer and my husband doesn't drink wine. Ha! I ordered a wine flight and my husband got the beer flight. The woman behind the counter was very nice and informative about the wines. We sat down at a table and also ordered a flatbread pizza which was really yummy! I enjoyed one of the chardonnays so much that we got a bottle to take home. We were a little underwhelmed with the wine in general, although we did enjoy that it was all very local, but I did really enjoy the Zinfandel. The atmosphere and great customer service (and the chorizo on the meat plate) made the experience. We came in today at around 3:30 and there was only one young man working there. He was delightful. My husband and I stopped in hoping to find some decent wine. I am compelled to share our experience. The wine was honestly the worst I have had. It tasted like the wine has been in plastic containers. The wine bar server would pour the wine and then leave behind the wall. Poor wine and service. read more

However we sat with an empty glass and a ready to leave face for about 20m, at the bar, before they finally asked us if we were ready for dessert or something else. We visited the Wine Experience on Friday, April 8. The owner, Brent, gave us an awesome tour & shared how they offer great group training or celebration events. I could easily see this would be a fun place to bring my team for a great team building experience. Or wedding groups could make memorable labels on a unique, hand selected blend of wines. For this visit, we selected a flight of four wines & loved them all! We walked away with four bottles to take home. A very memorable evening. This is a very innovative, high tech wine bar. (They also have beer & yummy food). I will definitely go back next time I'm in Monterey! read more

Overall, this is a great new addition to Cannery Row. The atmosphere is comfortable, and in addition to (locally produced!) wine and beer tasting and glasses, they also offer a lovely selection of small plates. What sets them apart is their custom, on-site wine blending and label-making. Although I didn't try that service, it is a nice option for out of towners that want a custom gift or memorable gift from their visit. Lauren poured for me, and she was knowledgeable about all of the wines, as well as entertaining! I do wish they cycled through their wine list a bit more, but what they did have was enjoyable. read more

What a great find! After my husband and I experienced too many bad meals in Monterey, we thought we would just skip dinner. (We assume the restaurants there seem to cater to tourists and don't necessarily count on repeat business.) The Wine Experience was across from our hotel and decided to pop in. We each ordered a flight and with a cheese plate and flat bread. You can choose which wines you would like to try rather than just getting what the House serves. The wines were quite nice. The cheese platter was really good - quality cheeses served with house made pepper jam and honey. Flatbread topped with fresh ingredients although the bread itself was mediocre. The room had a great vibe to it as well. it was a welcome find after all the horrible touristy places. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Monterey bay for a weekend away. We had originally bought a groupon for the Taste of Monterey. But after going to redeem our voucher and to ours surprise and dismay we found that it had closed early. We were very disappointed, as we were excited to be going wine tasting. Our solutions was to look up another wine tasting room near by. The Wine Experience came up on our search. My boyfriend and I decided to go. Our experience was top notch. Not only did they stay open after there closing time, but the owner took her time to talk and teach us about her wines. We bought a couple of bottles of wine as thank you gift for my parents back home. The wine experience were able to do a custom label that gave the bottle a personal touch. Good wines, poor service. In my wine tasting experiences and in general going to places, customer service upbeat attitude makes a world of difference. Our pourer seemed to be going through the motions, didn't really give any input, just barely communicated with us and seemed to hate her job. We enjoyed ourselves as we normally do and didn't get her negative vibes affect our positive ones. We most likely won't be back, if we do we'll make sure we sit with or ask for a different pourer! read more

Came here with a group of 8 to celebrate one of the couples' anniversary. We all sat at the blending counter and experimented with choosing a special blend for our group. We tried several different combos, settled on our favorite, and then the very friendly staff bottled our "friend blend" with a custom label, a photo of us 4 couples. First time at a Wine Bar/tasting room. It was quite fun and even though I didn't find anything that I really really liked, I did have fun trying 6 different wines. The two people running the shindig were wonderful and very pleasant. They even do blending nights where you find the right blend of 2 wines to create your own.
