HMJ comes back saying they can't find siding to tie into our existing, wants to do a new quote to replace all the siding on the entire side of the house. Upsell? Not what we want so a different contractor found compatible siding and did the job. Two months later HMJ is trying to charge for the "service" of dropping off samples of siding that wouldn't fit. Clarification: our contract was to replace a portion of siding with new siding that was compatible with our existing siding. HMJ dropped off a sample of INCOMPATIBLE siding and in the same email telling us about the drop-off, told us they couldn't do the partial replacement that was in our contract; instead replacing all the siding would be necessary. That's not what we wanted and told them that, in writing. Now they're trying to charge us for dropping off a sample of a product they knew wouldn't work for the contracted repair.
