Had the pleasure of attending a wedding at The Windmill Winery, while driving there I thought good gawd where are we headed, but once I got their I saw the appeal. This a great wedding venue, its just beautiful, from the grounds to the barn every detail is perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful if needed to know what direction to go in. The food was delish, to die for potatoes!!! So good! The Windmill Winery also has a great selection of their wines, the Symphony is my newest love! We held a wedding event in Windmill Winery this last weekend. The wedding venue is beautiful if you love a rustic look. The decor was perfect for one who loves this theme. The ceremony was outside with the reception inside the barn. The weather was pleasant. The barn really comes alive at night time. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend to hire a wedding planner (this seems to be a must which we did not do), not just a day of wedding coordinator. Our day of wedding coordinator unfortunately was a disappointment. I'm not sure why we were basically left to do everything on our own and mostly figure everything out on our own too. I did not realize that we had to set up EVERYTHING 3-4 hours before the wedding with little guidance. This is complicated given that the bride communicated all information to the day of wedding coordinator on how she wanted all set up, however, this information was not communicated to THE FAMILY who had to set everything up prior to the wedding. This sadly was a disappointment to the bride. There were several friends and family members who also commented to the bride's father and mother, commenting on how rude our "day of wedding coordinator" was to them. This was so disheartening to hear as we always treat everyone with respect and apparently this was not the case with this "day of wedding event coordinator" on how some of our guests were treated. I hope that in the future, this "day of wedding coordinator" can be more helpful to those who do want to hold their wedding here. The bottom line is...... hire a wedding planner who can lead you every step of the way. Unless you don't mind doing mostly EVERYTHING on your own just prior to the wedding. read more

What a dream. My wedding turned out beautifully and I couldn't have imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Karen was our coordinator and her communication was excellent from start to finish. Tana was extremely knowledgeable and really made us feel like more than just a number. The only reason The Windmill did not get a 5th star, is because we did have a negative experience with a different coordinator before getting paired with Karen. This coordinator did not prioritize communication and after following up with her over the course of two months, I finally had to loop a supervisor in to get an answer on a question I had been asking. Unfortunately, we did get an attitude from this coordinator afterwards. A few months later, I reached out again with another question, and I went another month without a response entirely. An all star vendor team is crucial when making a wedding come together. Once we were switched and got Karen as our coordinator, the rest of the planning went by without any hiccups. Absolutely astounding venue for both weddings and social gatherings! The staff here is both friendly and informative. The grounds are beautiful and full of adventure. Watch out for the smaller donkey, he is friendly but if you pet him, he wont let you stop. Even if that means a friendly nip! I am a dark wine fellow, I like bold taste. So if you like smokey wine, try the Dutchman's Bold, it'll give you hair on your chest. Over all I recommend the experience of driving down, trying the wines, and asking Karen for a history lesson. Utterly, stunningly, drop-dead beautiful. Florence is a bizarre little town with 9 prisons. Yes. 9. And many cops. And a prison"outlet" store. Woah. And then, randomly, on Butte Street, there is the Windmill Winery. I had the sheer and utter pleasure of attending a wedding there this weekend, and I have never in my life seen such a pristine, perfect place for a wedding. (And I was a wedding singer for 9 years, so I've seen many!) Brick arches, windmills, horse-drawn carriage, a pregnant donkey, a wine-tasting room converted from an old dairy barn, a lake with lily pads, flowers, tractors, old timey cars, a gorgeous massive red "reception" barn, beautiful walkways and lights in the trees, a fire pit, chandeliers, beautiful bathrooms and facilities all around. The wedding was incredibly professional and absolutely gorgeous. Afterward we wandered around the paths and a kind man in a big cowboy hat invited us into the wine tasting area. It was so utterly charming I couldn't stand it! Turns out this was the owner. He and his bubbly beautiful wife sat and chatted with us as if we were old friends. Their sheer joyous energy was such a pleasure to be around. I have been in the wedding industry for many years and most wedding vendors and reception locations are really jaded about weddings. And it shows. (I've been planning my own for a few months, and it's amazing how absolutely money-grubbing and emotionless vendors can be about something so beautiful.) But Harold and Katie Christ have put so much heart and soul into this venue, it's palpable. My friend's wedding was so professional and the energy of the place and the staff was professional, positive and really relaxed and enjoyable. We just loved wandering the grounds, the reception hall was perfect, the DJ was hilarious (wish I remembered his name - he was a very bizarre yet very talented guy.) And standing outside on the beautifully lit grounds, watching the bride and groom make smores in the big fire pit, and looking up at a billion Arizona stars you couldn't help but feel like you were far away from it all, and exactly where you wanted to be. So. Beautiful. I can't lie I got wedding reception envy! If you are thinking about a perfect place for your big day in the Arizona desert - look no further. You've found heaven. This was the first event I've attended at the Windmill Winery. It was an amazing facility. I officiated a wedding on a Sunday afternoon. The grounds, facilities, people and place were all top notch and perfect. Scenic, functional, and meticulous design has clearly gone into the setting making it perfect for outdoor weddings. The big barn is beautifully adorned for receptions. And the people were both professional and courteous in every interaction. I cannot speak to the pricing since I wasn't the person renting the facility. But as an active participant (officiant) at a wedding, I was very impressed. read more

This venue was the absolute best choice for my wedding. Everything from their open houses, to the rehearsal, ceremony and reception. From the minute we stepped onto the venue the owner greeted us and started giving us a tour. The cake, DJ and food is all included in the price which is SO helpful that those are already taken care of. At their open houses you can choose from their vendors which one you would like to go with so you can choose the one that best fits your style and wedding. You even get an event manager to work with you each step of the way. Karen did a fantastic job making sure every detail i wanted was taken care of and regularly checked in with me to see if i needed anything. She also made the night go so smoothly and made sure everything went as planned. 10/10 recommend this venue you will not regret it!!! read more

If I could give no stars I would!! My daughter's wedding was just last weekend. It was planned for over a year. I'm not even sure where to start on the lack of professionalism from this establishment. I am extremely disappointed, especially with such a beautiful location and venue. Don't let the pictures fool you besides the caterer and DJ the rest of the staff was horrible, rude and just despicable. Knowing that a wedding is a special occasion for the bride and groom along with their guest, you would think they would know how to handle anything and make it that special day. This was far from the truth with this place. The lack of responses and numerous attempts to contact the coordinator from signing to days before the event was atrocious and uncalled for. Rest assure if you missed a payment they got ahold of you. Again as I mentioned I am the father of the bride. During the rehearsal the coordinator ask my daughter while I'm standing next to her, " since you are walking down the isle alone and no one is giving you away". At that point I stopped her and explained who I was. But seriously are you kidding me.... from day one the venue knew who I was. Strike ONE Upon arrival my daughter and her soon to be husband were detained to look over papers and sign which delayed the event, causing them money and time with the photographer. Not to mention delayed the whole event. Keep in mind we pay for a set time from start to end. Strike TWO Due to guest who showed up as a surprise too my daughter; they were over head count. The coordinator and owner decided to interupt the photo shoot in the bridal bungalow to talk about money and how they would make sure they are paid. Seriously. Strike Three It was explained to the coordinator that we would need another table, that's it, no table cloth, decorations etc. Her response "That's not my job" ( All this took place again during photo shoot of my daughter getting ready in the bridal bungalow ). Needless to say the brides maid had some words, and called the main number. Further more the coordinator continued to have attitude. Strike Four We had numerous guest tell us that the staff and coordinator were extremely rude during the event. In one example we had snacks out before the dinner. A guest went to get some noticing they were being cleaned up and ask if they could have some before it was put away. Staffs response "No, dinner will be served soon" and took it away. Are we children ruining our appetite? Strike FIVE Since there was an over head count and me being the father, the one who put the deposit down on my credit card. I was hunted down to pay the tab. No biggie but they cornered me coming out of the bathroom, stopped me on the dance floor, again from the bathroom and also while I was talking to other guest. How embarrassing, not to mention we still had 2 hours remaining in the event. Tell me one time, the coordinator and night manager hunted me down. Strike SIX That was really not the worse, and I feel like we are playing baseball with all these strikes. :) The night manager was driving around on his golf cart yelling to the guest that they have to leave and get off premises. This happens minutes after 10pm. The staffed rushed every guest out and forced people to grab what wasn't the venues and remove it. Strike SEVEN Part of the event, they were suppose to get the classic car for four hours. Guess what didn't happen! Yup you guessed right no car. Excuse: we forgot to tell them and it was to late. WOW Great job coordinator! Strike EIGHT I called two days after the event to express my concerns, I barely got an apology, but was told the staff is trained to make sure they got paid. How many strikes so far? Some items had to be left behind and we were told to pick em up between 10-1pm. When we arrived the items were no where to be found, no one knew where they were. Searching for these items we found them in an old shed thrown in the corner. Needless to say please read other reviews as it seems our issues are not the first time something like this happened. read more

The grounds are beautiful and our coordinator, Karen, was out of this world amazing. She was so courteous and quick to answer any of our many questions throughout the whole process. We had the Lake house at the Windmill Winery and it was a gorgeous venue. A true oasis in the desert of AZ. They were extremely flexible in that they allowed us to alter some of the payment times so we could pay just a little later than they usually allow, which really made this wedding possible. Some things to note: -I found out the day before the wedding the coordinator I was communicating with the whole time would not be there the day of. That was strange and made me feel uncomfortable, but her replacement was wonderful. I could have done without the worry, but all in all it went well. -I don't know if this was the Windmill or the caterer, Kiss the Chef's, fault, but there was a huge mix up in that I wasn't put down as a client for the caterer! This was a huge stress. -My coordinator was very slow to respond to some of my emails, and I would send multiple ones sometimes before I got a response. At least one was never responded to at all. All in all, amazing venue, full of beauty and charm. I would recommend it to any bride who wants their wedding day to be a dream come true. read more

This place is beautiful, our friends wedding was so nice. However, Stephanie the wedding coordinator was so awful to the bride and the bridesmaids. She was not helpful, made this very stressful and was extremely rude the the bridal party. Every piece of information given to us about the rehearsal dinner was wrong, we showed up to the venue in the morning to be told we can't be there, but we were told we could. After looking at over 10 different venues we picked The Windmill Winery, The Barn and it was everything we were looking for. The outside ceremony part was very beautiful and the Barn was so cool and amazing. Working with the staff there was a breeze. Our wedding coordinator was Karen and she was so helpful and was able to answer all of our many questions right away. We were so excited to have our wedding here and then Covid happened. We got married on March 23, 2020 right in the beginning of Covid and the staff was in constant contact with us and updated us on everything. 2 days before the wedding we were made aware that due to certain new mandates we were not able to have the receptions and the ceremony had to be less than 50 people. The staff was so helpful and still made our ceremony very special. One year later we were able to have our reception and it was amazing. Writing this review as a guests point of view. We recently attended a wedding here in April and really enjoyed ourselves. The bride and groom were both vegan and as such wished to serve a vegan menu. I was skeptical at first, but was very pleasantly suppressed with both he food and the cup cakes that were served. The backdrop was stunning in both the wedding and the reception, and the cocktail hour even had some neat lawn games to play while the wedding party was taking photos. There was a small jungle gym area for the smaller children to keep busy with as well, which ended up being a life saver for our 2 year old niece. We did not have much interaction with the staff other then the DJ who was entertaining, and did a good job keeping the party going thru-out the evening. Would be happy to attend another wedding here in the future. read more

We attended a wedding of some friends in the barn, and it was the most beautiful wedding I had attended. Woohoo! As good as it gets! My wife and I were married at the Windmill Winery on 11/19/2011. Everything from beginning to end is 5 stars. Katie and Harold are two of the nicest people that you will probably ever meet. They offered us a variety of wedding packages to pick from - which were very affordable in comparison. The property has a unique, rustic charm. Pathways, sitting areas, old John Deere tractors, old cars, animals, a playground for the kids. They really have something to offer everyone. The barn is over 100 years old and they moved it to Florence, AZ from Wisonsin. The barn is stunning. When you first enter this barn you are on sensory overload! They also have a large fire pit outside, which we paid extra to use at our wedding. You must experience this place for yourself. If your searching for a destination for your wedding, I would highly recommend that you give them a call and arrange for a visit. After our wedding, we had so many people tell us that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. Several people asked my wife if she cared if they were to get married at the Windmill. It is about an hour away from Phoenix, but well worth the drive. And there is a Holiday Inn very close that will offer you a discount on your wedding party. They even included a free shuttle from the hotel to the Windmill at no extra charge. If your going to stop in for the experience and try some wine - make sure you try the Dutchman Red. Very tasty!!! read more

UPDATED to a 1 star because even after my expressed concerns and being upset the venue still hasn't decided to reach out to talk. I was told to call the office manager myself, while owner KATIE sits and hides like usual. I will start by saying, the wedding went well and we had little to no hiccups throughout the day, but PLEASE make sure you document or record all conversations you have with this venue as one person will tell you one thing and another will say something else. We did a tour and wanted to wait until the next open house Monday to show my fiancé, but the sales girl pushed us into booking right away or "you'll lose your date", we felt pressured into booking before my fiancé and his family even got to see the venue. BEWARE OF THE TOUR pay very close attention to everything they say and ASK QUESTIONS, although they will make it seem like a lot of stuff they're showing you is included it isn't, and don't let them fool you into thinking they will get a liquor license. We booked almost two years in advance and they still had no liquor license at the time of our event. For the bar you only get 3 options of beer & wine it's not even a full beer/wine bar! I requested heavy mikes hards, by time I even got a drink they were almost out. You have to pay for the bonfire which isn't told during your tour, and the firewood they use better have diamonds in it for how much they want to charge you for just 2 hours. You have to give them your guest count 30 days after signing contract & if it's more you pay $80 per person over if it's less you get no money back. Soda is $1 for a can and you cant bring your own in, so please don't let them fool you into thinking ANY drinks are free. The only "free" drinks are the water they allow YOU to bring and the drink choices the caterer gives you. During contract signing they told us that we can do your rehearsal Friday morning but then when we got our wedding coordinator 6 months before our wedding(yeah only 6 months before) they tell you it's Monday-Thursday. Until the 6 month mark it's hard to get in contact with anyone, and hold on tight if you get forwarded to the owner Katie who threatened to CANCEL my wedding because my mom was upset the sales girl had lied about something for the 200th time, I guess you're not allowed to speak on anything that's upsetting to you, even if it's their sales girls fault that they lied. Katie completely turned the whole situation onto us and said my mom was "the worst mother of the bride" she's ever had to deal with and nothing could ever make us happy. You know what would make me happy? You and your sales girls not lying. They WILL nickel and dime you for everything! We wanted more barrels that we weren't using for the love sign and were told if we didn't use them for the sign we had to pay to put them somewhere else or we could just deal with the sign. They rush you to pick your vendors as soon as you pick your date and then the vendors also don't answer your questions or concerns because "the date is still really far away" Our caterer changed halfway through our process and we couldn't get in contact with anyone for 2 months. we finally had to contact the owner of the venue before we got an answer as to why the caterer wasn't contacting us. Again no one told us this when it happened we had to find out ourselves that the caterer merged with another comoYou have to go to the linen supplier yourself and don't count on anyone there knowing anything or answering any questions, we finally chose our linen color and then couldn't get in contact with anyone on how much extra changing the color of table cloth would be, and the day of the event we noticed the tablecloths were wrong anyways.... we were told by the owner herself that changing tablecloth color is only a $1 upcharge and it ended up being $25-$28 a table once the charges came through. Another thing the owner didn't take accountability for, told us she never said that BUT we had three people with us who said they heard the same thing. No one will talk on the phone they all want to email because it's "easier" or because you can't chew them out as bad on email, No one will meet outside the windmill so count on dealing with everything over email or making a 2 hour there and back drive just to talk to someone. I just want everyone to be warned on what they will do, and all the lies we encountered so you can all know what you're getting yourself into. The venue price seems great at first until you have to add everything on. The cake options they had were two vendors, we chose ours and I will omit the name because the cake was amazing BUT they forgot our glitter on the cupcakes and we had to pay extra for them to do that. They say they will give you enough cake and cupcakes for the guest count, we had 100 and after counting they only gave us 60 cupcakes. I just really want to warn people about this venue and the people who are involved in this lying money pit. read more

My husband and I were recently married at The Windmill. We chose the Big Barn venue and we booked around 10 months ahead of our wedding date. We were so pleased with the value, the quality of service, the food, the DJ, etc. I'm getting ahead of myself so let me break this down... First and foremost, my husband and I were coming down from Alaska to be married at The Windmill. We knew we wanted to have our wedding somewhere around the Phoenix area and we were willing to travel a little further to get what we wanted out of our wedding. This is my first and only wedding, however, I almost feel guilty for how easy and fun it really was. Price: If you want to have a thrifty yet big wedding, this is the place. If you look at their pricing documents you can chose a date (or day of the week) that will save you a few dollars. When we were in planning mode, my husband and I were looking at booking a cheap venue, renting all the services separately, and doing most of the work ourselves. Not only was this venue ASTONISHINGLY low-priced compared to the 20K all-inclusive venues back in Phoenix, but it is completely up to you what you'd like to pay for. We booked an extra hour at the venue for the end of the night, we added a bon fire, we did appetizers before dinner and brought out "second appetizers" later in the night after people started dancing and drinking and having a good time, we opted for a hosted bar and added a few of their supplied decorations. Even though we went "all out" with the extras, we still payed a fraction of what we would have paid in Phoenix, even if we did most of the work ourselves. Recommended vendors: The only recommended vendor we didn't use was their photographers. The caterer (Kiss the Chef), the DJ (Joel w/ Elagant Ent.), the horse and carriage drivers, the florist (Sarah's Gardens), the bakery (Lesley's Creative Cakes) had obviously worked together numerous times and they do it seamlessly. They all know what is allowed at the venue and what is not, they all know where one person's job ends and another person's job begins, they know how to get to the venue and they know when they need to leave. When it came to the wedding day I had absolutely nothing to do but enjoy myself, my new husband, and my guests. The planner: I was assigned a wedding planner who works for the venue as part of the package deal with The Windmill. If it were an optional thing I probably never would have asked for it but I am so glad they didn't give me the option. Karen started working with me a few months before the wedding to make sure I met all their deadlines for deposits and decisions (like what extras we wanted and how we wanted to do the bar). She knew that we were travelling from a long ways away so she met with us (and I'm pretty sure it was her day off) to give us a tour of the venue a few days before the wedding. We did the tour in lieu of a wedding rehearsal because nobody was in town yet but I truly appreciated it. Karen made sure everyone was where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. She took care of the walking order for the ceremony, she made sure my husband and I ate during the reception, and she made sure all the vendors had their questions answered so nobody had to bother Brian or myself. Simply put, she was AMAZING. What they don't tell you: Some of the most pleasing things I found on the grounds weren't advertised. There was a small playground area for kids near the barn. I was happy that there was a place for them to go blow off some steam before the ceremony. There were lots of little details around too, like old tractors and farming equipment. There were even a couple donkeys and roosters which only added to the magic of the venue. I will go back and visit this place whenever I can. I'll go sit in the tasting room or have a sandwich if they're serving lunch. I would have spent a whole week there if they had a place to sleep on site. Our nephew had his wedding here and it was Perfectly Perfect! So Beautiful!! This little Prison town is so deceptive!! but we are not discussing the town but the venue. All I can say is Oh My Gosh! It's like I don't know what to say if you live in Phoenix its only an hour drive. (we live in San Diego so we had to stay in the town of Florence in the Holiday Inn which was- so way better than expected) If you decide to get married here you and your guests will not be disappointed! They had their reception in the Barn which had beautiful lights strung- it was like Disneyland at Christmas. Everyone we talked to just LOVED it! read more

Our experience at the Winery was incredible. We booked the barn for our daughter's wedding 11 months prior to the event, and the staff made it a very easy process. Yes, it's pricy but all wedding venues are. With a full array of vendors to choose from and an excellent coordinator (thanks Whitney!), it took all of the stress out of the wedding day which is really what matters. I almost downgraded to four stars because we changed coordinators two months prior to the wedding. Whitney was so incredible coming in to take the role, she earned the 5th star for this review. I got married here on 02/20/15. Venue was the arches and reception was in the big barn. My fiancé and I fell in love with this venue as soon as we stepped foot into the property. We were sold that day and did not even bother to look at another venue. The staff was great and super helpful throughout the planning process and our wedding coordinator, Shauna was great. We went with gold star catering and ellagant entertainment. We got so many compliments on how great the food and DJ were. The day was absolutely perfect and there is not one thing I could find to complain about. My husband and I keep talking about how perfect the day was and every guest we have spoken with after the wedding had gushed about how much they loved the venue and how perfect the wedding was. I could not be happier. I'm almost sad the day is done and over with :0(. We will be visiting the windmill again and again just to enjoy some of their delicious wines and delicious dinners available Thursday's. Great job Windmill. I was recently married at the Windmill Winery and could not have been happier with the overall experience! I have been in and witnessed a lot of weddings lately, and I've seen the good and the bad when it comes to wedding venues. The Windmill Winery is absolutely at the top of the list for superior customer service, the amazing and unique experience they offer, and the value. I would highly recommend using this venue if you want a beautiful and unforgettable experience. The staff (Katie, Harold, Karen, Jenny) went far and above the call of duty to ensure we were pleased with our wedding. I can't say enough about The Windmill Winery! Also, they do wine tastings and seasonal events so even if you're not getting married, you should sign up for their emails and attend one of their fun events!!! read more

My friend got married here, the staff was great, the service and food were great! If I can I'd come back here again, the only thing that kinda sucked is that they waitress took our plates before we were done eating, without even asking anyone if they were done. But other than that little moment everyone else was nice, courteous and helpful. A+ read more

Please take the time and effort to read this review in its entirety. Here are some key points: 1. Venue was beautiful 2. Event Coordinator was rude, gave us false information and unorganized. BTW: Do not leave your vehicles unattended after the event despite whatever your coordinator tells you. 3. We were very rushed by the staff 4. Food was excellent I first want to point out that my wife and paid for this wedding out of our own pockets so this review is coming straight from the person who paid for the wedding and not my parents or a relative. I also would like to add that we preplanned this wedding with the Windmill Winery 13 months before the wedding. We were originally assigned to Whitney as our wedding coordinator. We tried to get a hold of her on several occasions but received spotty responses or no response at all. We have never had a wedding before so we just chalked it up to 'we did not understand the process' and we still had enough time. About 2-3 months before the venue, we still had not heard anything. We finally called a couple of times and finally got a hold of someone saying that Whitney was no longer there and we had a new coordinator named Dayleen. ***NO ONE CALLED US TO LET US KNOW***. We set up a meeting with Dayleen to go over everything. In our meeting, Dayleen just went through a checklist of everything we were doing a made several comments saying that "we were easy to deal with" and "this wedding should be very easy to put together". We asked if we should do an actual rehersal with our family at the venue just so everyone knows what to do. She mentioned that since our wedding party was so small, we did not need to do a run through. Despite the location of Florence, the day of the wedding was beautiful and the Lake House looked awesome. We got ready in our separate women and gentlemen's quarters. Fifteen minutes after the ceremony, Dayleen (wedding coordinator) walked up to me (the groom); while I was getting pictures with a few guest and said "you need to clean out the gentleman's quarters". I said ok. She coninued to stand there and look at me with a blank stare, so I asked "right now" and she said "yes". I had a small wedding party so I told her I would try to find some people to help out. She just walked off. I thought her timing was terrible as we were still getting pictures done and talking to family. I reapproached her and "said listen, I am getting pictures done and talking with family. I am not going to deal with this right now, you need to go figure it out." Dayleen approached several of my family members and said that I yelled (which did not happen) at her and was angry. Several people approached me at once asking me why I was angry. I was not angry and was just telling her that she needed to help figure it out. We did what she requested immediately. I approached her later in the evening an apologized if I came across as angry. However, even after I apologized, she STILL complained to some of my guests that about the same interaction. Completely unprofessional! Our overall reception was very rushed by the staff and it did not help that the DJ made a mistake announcement the venue was coming to close at 8:30 PM while we paid for it to go until 10 PM. Our wedding coordinator also told us that we could leave our cars there overnight and we could retrieve them in the morning. We arrived the next morning and they were having a cowboy church event that they blocked our cars in. Some members of the wedding party had flights to catch and had to wait several hours to get there vehicles. When I called the place the first time to get a hold of someone to get the cars, a woman answered and was completely unprofessional and rude. I called back and spoke to a different woman and had to demand us to be able to get our cars. The owner called me and said "well we do have other events". No apologies were ever made by the staff for mistakes. Location was beautiful. We ended up making it an awesome wedding for us and our guests despite the coordinator. We just got married at The Lakehouse at Windmill Winery on 2/16/2020 and had the best experience! The three things that come to mind when I think of Windmill are: excellent customer service, clear communication, and flexibility. From our initial tour through the end of our wedding, we were blown away with Tana (our event coordinator), her team, and all that Windmill offers in their packages. I feel like we got the wedding of our dreams on a reasonable budget and the planning process was incredibly smooth. Unlike many wedding venues, Windmill provides so much in their packages and takes care of so much of the set up and clean up, making our day feel seamless and easy. My husband has 2 kids and Tana did everything to make sure they felt included by and ensuring our reception was family-friendly through her ideas and support and by bringing them special drinks during our reception. Our guests had a blast during our reception adventuring around the property, playing games (cornhole), and roasting marshmallows at the fire. During set up, we realized that we forgot our table numbers for the reception and after one quick phone call to Tana she sprang into action, printing perfect replacements for each table (and didn't charge us for the supplies or her time!). I felt like our money was spent well choosing Windmill as our venue and I'm incredibly grateful for our experience! Thank you, Windmill Team! read more

i really cant say enough positive things about this place. I worked with the fabulous Cynthia and she really did everything possible to make my event perfect!! I kinda selfishly don't wanna rave too much about this fantastic venue for fear it'll make it harder to book for future events read more

I had a friend get married here last night. What a beautiful place. HOWEVER, there was a salmanila episode from a wedding they had on March 19th, that's over two weeks ago, that left 22 people very ill! So what happened to my friends wedding? Well 30 minutes before she is supposed to walk down the isle they tell her they can not serve and food or drinks to her guests.!!! Yes, you read that right! The reception of her dreams in the bug barn of her dreams was not going to be able to happen. The team did however to a very great job of managing to move the whole wedding to a restraunt down the road to serve the food, and converted the patio into their dance floor. I am glad that she had an amazing photographer and DJ that accommodated her move right along with her and helped move table and decorations and so much more. I am very disappointed and saddened that this happened and that the bride did not know sooner. All I know is she better be getting ALL OF HER MONEY BACK! read more

i was recently married here.9/14/2013.. im going to be brutally honest.. this was a disaster from day 1. we were one of the last if not LAST people to be able to be married in the Wine Bar area. I felt like i was second best to the "big barn bride" i was made to feel my $5000 was below them. I was given 3 different coordinators from Feb 13 to Aug 13, because they all quit working there. Now... i understand that maybe this is out of their hands.. but it made every step tough, emails were lost, (i saved mine) agreements were not kept. I had to be very flexible to accommodate the big barn bride at all times. I wasn't allowed to have photos taken by certain things, i wasn't able to just walk out of a the bridal cottage because "we don't want to inconvenience the big barn bride who wasn't in there, and her things that were. she rented the cottage, its hers so you are not able to step out of the door" so i was taken from my bridal room, to the back of the bridal cottage (the office) to stand and wait in the heat.. but because the big barn bride was taking photographs.. i had to be taken back to the bridal room so she didn't see me... then not even 5 min later.. i was walked back over to the office area because she was done with her pictures. Mind you during this entire time my guests have arrived, they all have seen me at this point.. to include my fiance.. so the first look walking down the aisle was gone.. the one thing he asked for .. i dont want to see her before the wedding.. that was the ONLY tradition we wanted. During the ceremony..the groom, grooms men and my girls were not in the right order, the bridesmaids were not handed their flowers. I was told upon asking.."where are their bouquets?" the answer was..."oh well i guess they forgot to grab them".. Isn't that what your there for? to line everyone up in order, make sure they are on time, maybe see they don't have the bouquets. and hand them to them.. if its not .. then wouldn't you do it out of sheer courtesy? once the main manager (Katie) saw the girls didn't have bouquets.. her jaw dropped and my coordinator was dismissed.. i didn't see her the rest of the night, until i started packing up decorations and she handed me a bottle of wine.. to top it off.. nobody did anything about the cock fight that was happening in the drive way... it wasnt until in the middle of my ceremony when i said.. someone kill that turkey! and a laugh.. (movie quote) then out of the corner of my eye.. i see the owner running over to sho them away.. (thank you sir.. you saved the last 5 minutes of my wedding video) at two months before the wedding they literally told me if i didn't want to get married at the time of day they picked out (because any earlier time would have interfered with the big barn bride) i could take my money elsewhere. I was in tears the entire time i had to speak to them, i was nervous opening up emails from them because i was so worried they were going to cancel on me.. i wasn't asking for things to be above and beyond i was just asking for courtesy. i would have done anything for the other bride to have her day be special too.. when i found the booth at the January phoenix bridal show i knew this is where i wanted to be married.. it was and is an absolutely beautiful location..i should have listened to a few people who used to work there (a manager, photographer and a cake decorator) say i shouldn't.. now i know why.. maybe for 2 thousand more ($7000 is the price for the big barn) dollars i would have been treated better.. but i didn't want that large of a wedding.. i just wanted something small. intimate, and quaint.. closest friends and family.. i could have filled the big barn to the brim with people but it wasn't what i wanted. but i did and still do feel like i was second best and that i was a burden on them. but on that note...there are certain people i want to give a 5 star rating to. The bar staff.. the bar staff was an absolute joy! they helped with clean up because they saw me doing it. (cleaning the dishes from the table) Specifically would like to say thank you to Chris specifically.. You made my sister in law feel so special when you helped her carry water bottles! The DJ. DJ Ramsey Saba, you got everyone out of your seat.. I LOVED the music you put together! and thank you thank you for making us a wedding copy.. now we will have the music every anniversary to come. the Caterer: 5 star catering and Chef Le.. the food was amazing.. The bakery Lesley's cakes.. Absolutely fantastic! I had my wedding this past weekend at the Windmill Winery. I was so beyond happy with how it turned out! Everything went as planned, and we had so much support along the way. Our coordinator, Shauna, was absolutely amazing. They helped us with set up and turning on our electric candles, helping us stay on schedule, and making us feel so special on our special day! I seriously cannot thank the Windmill enough!! We had a blast, and I would recommend them over and over again!!!! read more

The windmill winery is a beautiful place for the wedding. My daughter Crystal was just married at the windmill in April 2015. I would recommend Something old and Something new , the florist designs by Kathy she is amazing. The only down fall was their DJ,they use a vendor that is part of the package...His name was Wil, one of the few that they use. He did a terrible job as a DJ. He was not prepared.We asked for several songs to be played on a list given to him, only 3 songs that were part of the wedding actually were played. He was given a video to play before the groom and bride entrance, and you could not hear it and he tried to redo it 3 times ,it was a disaster, and the sound system for the reception, the speakers also had some static. Even though everything about the wedding went well this was still a hugh problem when you spend $$$$$$$$ you want it to be right for the perfect day. If I had to do it over I would find my own DJ...So I have to give the winery a low rating because this vendor is part of their package. Kathy read more

My hubby and I were in town to visit my grandchildren and great grandchildren who live in Coolidge. My middle grandson treated us to a wine tasting at the Windmill - and we were blown away. Now - we are wine snobs due to my hubby having been in the fine business for 25 years in Scottsdale, AZ, and Sarasota, FL. We spent lots of time in Napa and Sonoma Valley comped by all the finest wineries. Having said all that - we were absoluttely WOWED by the entire setting. Lush, green oasis, manicured lawns, metal art, pond with wildlife, trees, trees, trees - a true sanctuary in the middle of the dry brown desert. The small rustic tasting room was welcoming and Bethany, our "Tasting-Tender" was a delight - personable and knowledgeable - and gave a nice history of the evolutions, expansions and transformations of the facility over the years which was quite interesting. We found the wines to be unexpectedly solid with some nice complexity -very definitely drinkable (I am a died-in-the-wool Napa Valley Cab drinker). We had wanted to do a self-tour of the property but it just happened to be their "wedding consultation" day. However, Bethany surprised us with a fantastic horse-drawn-carriage ride throughout the facility at N/C - of course we tipped our driver, Jeff, and Lincoln, the horse, got our admiration for his ability to turn on a dime! Lovely, lovely perfectly designed venue for any kind of party......and since they have plans to build an Inn on-site next year - we are already making plans to reserve a room. Napa Valley - you got nothin' on the Windmill, let me tell you! We will make it a stop for all of our visits. read more
