I can't really say whether these guys are especially good at getting loans. They did succeed getting me a mortgage for a home purchase (I appreciate that).
What makes them stand out from other brokers, in my experience, is their condescending and rude attitude.
Your mortgage broker is someone who's holding all of your financial information and tax returns. They're helping you with your most expensive asset, your house. You hope they'll be courteous and professional, right?
The Willsons were working on a refinance for my home. The house appraised $300k below the Zestimate. I know the real estate market pretty well. I was concerned that the appraisal was off because my house was messy during the inspection.
The Willsons did not lift a finger to address my concerns. They had a take-it-or-leave-it attitude.
Now, maybe they were right. Maybe my house was worth less than I thought. I can be wrong sometimes. I took some extra time to investigate.
And I guess the Willsons didn't like that, because their emails turned pretty rude at that point.
Jeff accused me of "dragging my feet" on the refi. He also criticized me based on what I do for a living "I know you are a ______ so I'm sure that you ______."
I was thinking, "hey man, why are you getting so personal?"
And then Jeff "fired" me, even though I'd invested $750 in the process.
I let the Willsons know I didn't think I was being treated well. I waited a day. No response.
Now, maybe I wasn't an ideal client. Maybe I was too slow. I get it. But at least I was courteous and polite.
So I'm posting this review because I figure if you're here on Yelp, you want to know. Especially before you start handing them your personal information.
In my opinion, there's plenty of other mortgage brokers choose from. Why go with someone with a bad attitude? read more
