I have been to this Pub twice for a meal now once in the summer for a Birthday and once in the Winter for Christmas Dinner, Both times have been excellent. The Service is unrushed but very well presented and very accommodating,
The decor is a traditional country Pub, with a mixture of old furniture, open fires and curiosities. In the summer I cannot remember exactly what I had but one thing I did have for my starter was Black Pudding on a Pea & Mint Puree with a Scallop on top, and it was excellent. I had a traditional Christmas Dinner the other night which was brilliant, the atmosphere was brilliant, the staff were friendly and helpful.
I had a fishcake Starter, followed by Turkey with all the trimmings, very generous portions, and I followed it with a Cheese course. I also recommend the home produced ale. The pricing is spot on, and I really can't fault the experience.
Not true ala carte, but a lot better than bog standard pub grub. read more
