We got a room at one of the houses at the property. Upon entry the room was noticeably dirty (lots of dust, unknown black things stuck to the carpeting, stink bugs everywhere). As we were going to sleep we discovered a dead bat in the lamp next to our bed. We left immediately, didn't even stay the night. The front desk did issue a full refund immediately which was greatly appreciated and why I'm giving two stars instead of one read more

The place is a dump! Description of the inn shows beautiful rooms with spa tubs, robes and balconies, we had none of these. We were given a grosse, smelly room with 0 amenities. The bed was like a rock as were the pillow. We had to step over paint cans to get into our room. Breakfast was alright but nothing special, and after serving yourself and cleaning your own dishes away the have a tip jar on the table as you leave! I had just ok experience, i was charged before i even left my place . When i arrived there and was checking in ; the old guy wanted me to charge again and i told him u guys already charged me . Then, he said ," we never do that . You have to trust me or leave !" ( in front of other custumers plus i kept showing him my bank statement which apparently says WHITE ROSE INN !!) but still he was arguing so later his wife showed up and accepted that she charged me . Their site clearly says $12 for extra bed , and they dont even know abt it . Beautiful property! Great pool! Just off the shopping strip so it's a close walk to Wis Dells night life and souvenir stores. Nice and quiet location with a great restaurant across the street. (Food is for Bed and Breakfast patrons) We stayed in the motel which was a tad dated but clean, (could use more modern comforters) the bed was very comfy. The owners and workers were all very friendly and happy to be there. I can't wait to come back again. I am so glad to have discovered this place. read more

I've been going to the Dells since I was a child and I had never heard of this property before. Everyone is familiar with the waterpark resorts, or the "cheapies" as I call them, but this is a total hidden gem! My boyfriend is from out of state and I wanted to give him a Dells experience, so I typed in B&B, a shot in the dark, and this came up. The location is very easy to get to, up the street from Nig's. White Rose has the main house then a few smaller houses on the property. We stayed at the Gate House "Gardener's Room" on the 1st floor, and let me tell you, it is completely worth it! Wonderful whirlpool for two, very nice to relax with a glass of wine, loved the bath products. A separate shower with jets from all directions. The room was very cozy, but it was summer so we didn't get to use the cute fireplace. Very large comfy king sized bed. It was wonderful to sit on the porch with some wine and view the river on the side. In the Gate House there are two rooms in the building. We didn't hear our upstairs neighbor and you just come and go as you please. For the most part it was total privacy and seclusion, which we wanted, and being so close to the strip, it did not have the Dells feel or sound. Just a very peaceful time. I would absolutely recommend the White Rose Inn, and for the full experience, splurge and stay at the Gate House. It IS worth the money, whether it's an overnight get away or for your honeymoon, you will not be disappointed! I hope we'll be back next year. *We didn't eat at the B&B as I couldn't have my boyfriend leave without trying Paul Bunyans, so I am unable to comment on the breakfast part of it. read more

This is a very unique property, which we enjoyed even though it didn't quite live up to our expectations. The White Rose Inn is actually a complex of 7 different buildings - -6 interesting, historic houses and one two story motel that cuts through the middle of the property. We stayed in the Sherman House, a beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright style house that overlooks the river just a couple blocks away from downtown. We were in the Dell View room, which was quite nice, although the whirlpool was small and the shower was even smaller. While we enjoyed our stay, the White Rose Inn didn't "wow" us with its customer service or with its breakfast, which was honestly not much better than what one would get at a 2 1/2 star hotel. The person managing the property seemed very nice, although it looked like she could use some help. If I were the owner, I would re-name the motel, as it's seriously hurting the White Rose Inn brand, as can be seen by a number of one and two star reviews from people who stayed in the motel. . read more

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay in the Sherman House, Summer Room. Our hosts were friendly, the house was interesting, and the location was terrific. It had all of the charm and character you would expect of a good B&B. The breakfast was good, too! The challenges: beds weren't all too comfortable, the wifi was marginal and the comings & goings of other guests was a little noisy. Still, we would stay there again in a heartbeat and we've recommended it to our friends and family. read more

After 10 days on the road, due to snow in Wyoming and not prepared, we changed our itinerary and arrived here in the Wisconsin Dells. After a few rounds of mini-golf and dinner, we decided to stay the night...but where? At 7:00pm? We Yelped "hotels" and came across the White Rose Inn. Not requiring pools, waterparks, etc, we were charmed by the 100 year old homes that make up the Inn. For $80, our room overlooks the Wisconsin River and a beautiful sunset. The spring flowers are blooming on the grounds, and although there is no A/C, we opened the windows and turned on the ceiling fan for a comfortable evening. Hubby sat in the sun room reading while I opted to sit here looking out at the sunset, writing this review. I wouldn't recommend bringing children here, and I can't say if the prices will go up once Memorial Weekend arrives. But today, and now, this is as good as it gets....and that's pretty damn good :) read more

Staying over for one night before heading to MN. We have stayed in the bed and breakfast before and loved it. This visit we are in the motel part with our 2 kids ages 9 and 11. As with most kids, they couldn't wait to go into the pool. Everything was fine until they decided to throw quarters in and search for them. The owner (I'm presuming) asked " are you throwing stuff into my pool?" in a not very nice tone. We explained and all he said was they clog my filter. Ok, whatever. As we are pretty much the only customers here a little kindness would have gone a long way. read more

We stayed at The White Rose about five years ago and loved it. The suites were great, the bathrooms phenomenal, the showers were the best I've ever been in. Fast-forward to 5 minutes ago... I called to make a reservation, at first the man who answered (who later offered up the information that he was the manager) started out ok. When we talked about the rooms I asked about the room we stayed in years ago. When he told me the price ($155, which judging from other recent reviews they shouldn't be able to charge much more than $75 a night) mentioned that a lady I spoke to earlier quoted a different price. That's when things got crazy!!! He countered with an offer of $125 for the room, which I was considering until he opened his mouth again. When I began to question him he started laying out the benefits of the room rapidly, and then told me I needed to make up my mind. He interrupted me three or four times to say the clock is ticking, I had to hurry up, that he had been on the phone wasting his time for 10 minutes with me now (I checked the time on my phone at that point and it said 4:44). I began to ask him a question (in transparency it was how a manager could talk to a returning guest like that) and he hung up on me. I called back and got the lady I spoke to earlier. She was apologetic, and gave me a better price ($110). But there are other places in the Dells or a short drive away. Since it is the off-season, and there's less traffic, I'll have no problem finding a place, while The White Rose will struggle to find someone to fill that room. I will never stay there again. I will ensure everyone I knows will not stay here again. I will repost this in every place I can, and I will continue to repost how bad my experience was to ensure that everyone knows how bad this experience was. Maybe you will learn to talk to me and other guests like the people that keep your doors open. read more

Finding a hotel in the Wisconsin Dells, late on a Friday night, in March, during the state hockey tournaments, can prove to be quite the task. All we needed was 2 rooms, 4 beds, and 2 showers for a short, overnight stay. For those of you who don't realize, Wisconsin Dells is known for many things, but their amusement parks and water parks are proven to be the most successful. But, in the off-season, you'll find, abandoned storefronts, closed hotels and minimal businesses with regular hours. After reviewing a few hotels that sounded decent on Yelp, we contacted those hotels, and, of course, no vacancies. So, we cruised around, looking at all the abandoned hotels and with discouragement, started to give up. But, finally, we saw a lighted "vacancies" sign in the office window of the White Rose Hotel. The location is entirely white painted and very clean looking. Thankfully, the gentlemen behind the office counter could fulfill our needs of the 2 rooms, 4 beds and 2 showers for a very minimal price. He even gave us touristy information to look over. We got to our room, and it was very clean, a bit outdated, but the bathroom and shower were exceptionally clean. Nice white towels were provided, as well as a refrigerator, TV, and even a microwave. We had to sign a contract that said if there was ever a smell of cigarette smoke in the room, $1,000 would be debited from our credit card. No problem. Because it is a bed and breakfast as well as a hotel, breakfast is served from 8-10:00 a.m. during the week in the Secret Garden Cafe in the White Rose mansion (a blue Victorian house where the office is also located) for $8.95 + tax for adults and $5.00 + tax for kids 5 and under. Complimentary coffee is available 7:30 a.m. from the Secret Garden Cafe on Sat. & Sun. and in the office during the week. They are a smoke free environment (hence the $1,000 contract). They feature wireless Internet throughout the property and data ports in the Sherman House living room and porch. We slept tight. In the morning, in our friend's room, they didn't have any cold water in their shower, so they just didn't take a shower since we were headed to a water park anyways...no big deal. When we went to check out, the woman said she would gladly refund the entire room, but we said no, that wasn't necessary or fair. She then offered us an "exchange" of wristbands for Mt. Olympus indoor water park and indoor amusement park for all of us for $5 each. What a deal! The couple who owned the place was from Australia. Very, nice people and an exceptional hotel for a small fee. I felt clean and safe staying there with my family. I will most definitely stay there again the next time I visit Wisconsin Dells during the winter months. Thank you, White Rose Inn. read more

Excellent place to stay at. We were in one of the newer rooms (Maid's Quarters) and we liked everything about it except that it got a little cold. We ended up fixing it for ourselves but then it got too hot. I'm inclined to not blame them for this because we went there in the end of May and you don't expect it to be as cold as it was that day. Had the loft room and it was worth every penny!!! it was cozy and loved the hot tub and the little window between the bedroom and bathroom, so quaint with a dvd player and a little selection of dvds and bathrobes. breakfast was DELICIOUS, pool wasnt anything massive but did the job and its right by all the fun stuff and has close ample parking. whoever owns/runs this place is also very kind and fielded the calls. our shower was not hot and within minutes a man helped us out and was very friendly and chatty with us-would definitely stay again! read more

We went to this Inn for our anniversary. We stayed in the Master Suite. It was a very lovely room, right next to the gardens. There was a little outdoor wedding while we were there, and everyone looked so pretty. The atmosphere is very relaxing, and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. A great alternative to the hustle-and-bustle of the waterparks. We'll definately visit again. read more

This is going to be difficult, Considering the 20 years of business my Father-in-Law has done with the White Rose inn, and to add the 6 years of consecutive business I myself have done. This past trip to the Inn has soured my taste, and my business will no longer go to them. After having good service and clean rooms in the past, along with this visit. We were swept out of the "Terrace Hill" House by Stretch. who is one of the owners. Check out was at 11 o'clock. With my family we have a 4 month old baby, along with an 11 year old daughter. @ 11:10 Stretch was IN the house watching us as we were getting our final things together (bottles, and baby things, along with a few little odds and ends). He literally told us, ( in a very rude and almost yelling manor) that check out was at 11, it is now 11:10 and you need to leave so GET OUT... I was in awe. Never have I seen such intolerance of someones time. We had asked earlier for a later check out time, because my self and buddy were golfing in the morning, and didn't want to have to rush out. However we were also denied that. I can seriously not believe this, I will no longer recommend the White Rose Inn to anyone in my family friends or network. I know there are alot of other places to rent in the dells, and my family and myself do love coming there. I just can not believe how rudely we were treated...!!!! read more

Old. Not CLEAN. Pool was cold and was full of bugs. Room is outdated. Old tv. Pillows are like laying on a bath towel. The beds are junk. We came into room to find it not ready. Coffee left over in the pot. The new coffe packets thre was 2 already opened. The office smells like someone died. The owners are not to smart . Jist bad service. Over priced. Came here for our anniversary getaway and stayed in the Master Suite in the White Rose building. It was the only room on the property with a king size bed. We had a cozy and romantic time. The room was clean and well appointed. The have a basic tv but it didn't matter to us. It is a short walk from the River Walk and many places to shop and eat. You get left alone in the house which was perfectly fine, and the breakfast the next day was home cooked and plentiful. My only gripe is it is October and heat was on despite mild outside temperatures. There was no thermostat in the room, so we ended up sleeping with the window open, which meant we heard the drunk people rolling out of the Riverwalk Pub at closing time. Despite that, we would probably stay there again. read more

We stayed at in the Gardener room at the b&b. Loved this room. The staff were great. Clean place, no issues at all. Included breakfast which was good. I highly recommend this b&b. The whole facilities are about a block from the center of the main tourist strip. Perfect walking distance. Plus reserved parking right in front of your door. read more
