The White pheasant is located conveniently just off of the Main Street of Cookstown on the burn road. They offer all types off food from an Ulster fry to Sirloin steak. Many years ago under different management the White Pheasant was a great wee restaurant. Not anymore. Ordered Cod and chips. Have had worse chips but that's not exactly a compliment. The fish consisted of a small frozen, greasy fish portion. Impossible to tell if it was cod because the main flavour was grease. It wasn't cheap either, £6.20 for poorly cooked frozen fish and chips. When paying I was asked if everything was ok? I don't know why staff ask if they don't want the truth. Got a dirty look for my honesty. Very poor food, very poor customer service. Used to have Saturday lunch here with friends when I was secondary school! Apart from having a facelift and looking more modern it still has the same good country food! Highly recommended if you fancy something nice on a Saturday or indeed any day of the week! read more
