We went for lunch one day, and it was a good experience overall. We split a pot roast poutine and crème brûlée. The poutine was excellent, and the dessert was as good as anything in the area. It's good to have this place as another lunch option.

We used to eat here a lot before it closed so we were exited to see it open again. My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a weekday so it wasn't too busy and we were shown right to a table by the window. The dinning room has been beautifully refurbished and the ceilings are particularly stunning. Our sever was quick to arrive with waters and tell us about the specials. I chose the lunch special of the pot roast poutine and I was not disappointed. It was a decent sized portion for a lunch and the meat was so tender. I finished with a creme brûlée which was so tasty I didn't even stop to take a picture. If this is what's on offer at the new and improved White Inn I will be back for sure!

Beautiful property recently renovated to show the perfect blend of modern elegance and timeless beauty. Perfectly landscaped and a very inviting feel overall. As others have mentioned, I wouldn't come in for a quick meal as our food did take quite awhile to come out - but lucky for us we were visiting with family and had a lot to catch up on so we didn't mind waiting. Our party of 8 enjoyed everything we'd ordered - specifically the beef on weck and the braised short ribs. The service was good, fair prices and great cocktails. I took off one star because as a mother dining with young children I was a little annoyed there was no changing table in the bathroom. I had to change my child in the windowsill which is just a little off putting. Overall, would highly recommend and I would return if given the opportunity!

Very full bar; Guinness, Stella & Chautauqua on tap among others.

This has all the understated elegance the outside promises, without being stuffy. The bar/lounge has a laid-back energy: The patrons are a diverse crowd of Fredonia students, locals, and people celebrating a special evening. The dining room is on the other side of the lobby. The menu has seafood, steak, pasta, and is largely American cuisine. All items may be served in the bar, or boxed for take-out.

Wow! We stayed the night to celebrate our anniversary! Surely will be back next year and made dinner reservations for this coming week. What a gorgeous venue, beautifully appointed rooms beyond lovely. Separate heating zones for the bathroom & bedroom. $30 discount on dinner w our room reservation; complimentary self serve breakfast this morning. Can't say enough good about the White Inn. A perfect drive along Route 20.

Beautifully restored hotel, restaurant, and bar. It's going to be such a gift to Fredonia to have this inn. Even brand new, you'd think the staff has been working here for ages. They are awesome. Excellent burger, we ordered mid rare and got it. Can't wait to try more and more of the menu.

Beef on weck, a Western New York speciality. Those onion rings are the Real Deal.

This review is for both eating and staying at the White Inn. Lovely old building brought up to date in grand style. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. Friendly staff who seem to really like being part of a fine business. Notice: not all rooms are designated for pets. We had to upgrade to a more expensive room than we booked in order to accommodate our dogs. We got two complimentary cocktails at dinner as a sweetener. Full hot breakfast for guests on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Nice. Luxury sheets. Thanks.

Chautauqua County's upscale restaurants are few and far between. Located in Fredonia, the historic White Inn is a hotel with a restaurant that is serving above average food at a fair price in a location with atmosphere. Caldwell was our waitress and she was attentive yet not hovering. We both started with the French Onion Soup which was flavorful. My better half had the Broccoli Alfredo with chicken and I had a satisfying Wedge Salad. The very stylish dark wood bar on the west side of the lobby is an intimate alternative to the classy main dining room, as the menu is served there too. Just I had a draft and we split a carrot cake. Bill was $60 something plus tip. We wanted to take a peek at one if the totally renovated rooms, but the desk clerk said that unfortunately was not allowed.

Average hotel, you get what you pay for, can't really complain much. What I will complain about though, is that the lady at the front desk was not very knowledgeable about the rooms. We requested a room with USB charging ports (which is pretty common in hotel lamps), only to go up to the room and find out there was no USB charging ports. It was also apparently one of the newer renovated rooms, yet there were stains on the floor. We immediately went back down to change rooms and got an older room, but at least cleaner, however still no USB charging. Other than that, there's nothing else I can complain about. The beds were decently comfortable, you have toiletries like shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion all available in the bathroom, and you can call room service for extras. They however do not have slippers. There's also an ice bucket in the room to get ice from the ice machine, which is on every floor, along with vending machines. However there's only one water fountain, which is on the first floor. There is also a coffee machine with coffee and tea packets in the room. There is a closet by the door with a small safe. The TV also works fine. I believe they also have a pool and gym that we didn't visit. The continental breakfast (free) was small but acceptable, as you get what you paid for. They have things like toast, waffles, eggs, sausages, fruits, coffee, milk, cereal, juice. The dining area is quite nice, with a view of Lake Erie. The best part is probably the free parking and no absurd fees (at least when I visited). Overall, very decent hotel for the price. They just need to work on training the workers better, and maybe switching lamps with USB ports.

We stayed in the Foote suite, which was decorated in very soft yellow curtains and comforter. It also included two small chandeliers with adjustable lighting. It also included everything you need for the beach; towels, chairs, umbrella, blankets and books! We loved our lunch and looking for sea glass. We arrived right at 3 for our check in and received a warm welcome from Lesley complete with a review of the property and tour of the space. Very helpful to know where everything is right away! Plus - a welcome cocktail and sweet bread was waiting for us! Delicious! The room: we stayed in La Due, which had an amazingly comfortable king bed, ceiling fan, and tub/shower combo. No detail goes unnoticed in the room, the towels are soft and match the floor rugs beautifully. Robes are available for guests and plenty of outlet space for charging is around the room. A note to visitors: the shared refrigerator for guests is only a mini-fridge, so there isn't much storage space. We'd suggest planning ahead and bringing a cooler for any larger items you wanted to store - or calling ahead to see about options. When we wanted to chill champagne, Lesley was wonderful to assist us with an ice bucket and two glasses! I highly recommend a trip here - friendly, relaxing, and so comfortable!

The room: peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, cracks in the floor and cracks in the ceiling, and floors so warped it's like a little skate park. The shower is small and dingy, also unlit. There's a light over the sink, but it's doesn't really reach the shower, especially with the shower curtain closed. The concert let out around 10:30, and we took a stroll around the grounds to skip rocks and look at constellations. When we got back to the hotel, bar closed. 11 on a Saturday night. Also no food to be had. Sunday morning continental breakfast was paltry at best. Even the coffee sucks, watery and tasteless. All this for the bargain price of about $400/night. There was even a charming porch area outside the room. The front desk staff were very polite, helpful, and quick to address issues. We loved our maid, too. She took care of our every need and made sure our room was cleaned properly. At the end of our visit, we asked her what some of her favorite rooms in the hotel were. She showed us each room and we reserved one for our 2025 visit. NOTE: I see that some of the less-than-stellar reviews knock the hotel for its restaurant, The Heirloom Restaurant. I agree that the food and service at the Heirloom are not that great and don't meet expectations for such a grand hotel. But I shared that in a separate 3-star review for the restaurant.

I may be young but I'm a graduate student at SUNY Fredonia and would never dream of smoking in general, and definitely never inside! The room was very expensive for what you get. $400+ for 2 nights. Because of this extreme price I tried to be proactive and meal prep for myself to save on money. Just to get to my room and realize that there was no microwave like the website advertised. There's one in the lobby but with weird buttons that seem to be designed to only heat up the breakfast items they serve. It seems as if a glitch on the website caused issues and I was unaware of the reservations. Regardless, it was a mistake. When I reached out to the company, these rooms were somehow checked in with no guests and charged for full stays. You would think they would contact me or let me know there was a no show instead of charging for the full amount without any credit card authorization form. At first, they did not want to refund any of the money. Then they decided to charge me a no show fee for each room (4 rooms), still resulting in a charge of almost $500. You would think since we have been loyal regular customers with them, they would be a little more understanding and work with us. I guess it doesn't matter how much money you spend, they will still try to rip you off. Buyer beware...something is not right here.
