We got chicken and ribs "as wet as you could make them". They were both dry, and the chicken particularly dry. Looked good though. There was a (one, 1) small container of BBQ sauce. The food was really good and was delivered on time. The reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because we catered an event for 100 people and Serving utensils and a salad bowl were not included. We didn't realize this and weren't asked if we needed them, but their website does mention that these items are sold separately in the FAQs when checking afterwards. Just seems odd if you're spending over $1,000 they don't include these items which costs $5, and when catering companies seem to include them. So our fault, but something to be aware of. read more

I contracted with Chiavetta's to cater our wedding. They were more than accommodating to work with us to get the buffet package that we wanted. They were responsive and fair in price. They were more than willing to adjust things as COVID changed up all of the plans we all had. We had Chiavetta's cater our wedding at Emery Park and it was perfect! More than we expected. We ordered a BBQ menu of BBQ chicken, grilled veggies, smashed potatoes, salad and dinner rolls. During the ordering process they were very flexible and made it work for us. We also added china service. They set the tables pretty quickly and everything looked great. The staff was friendly. Everyone loved the food. They even cut the cake for us and did everything to ensure things were going well. The price was affordable too. We spent about $2400 to feed about 120 people. We ordered Chiavetta's chicken for 40 people in early September for a backyard do. We threw out at least 2/3 of it. I understand Chiavetta's is popular and that vinegar is a component of their marinade for utility chicken. However, the chicken delivered tasted ONLY of vinegar and was, simply put, inedible. Luckily, we had lots of homemade backyard picnic dishes and desserts and lots of family fun. I contacted Chiavettas and was advised that many people referred to Chiavetta's as "vinegar chicken" and liked it. Chiavetta's response made no indication that just maybe this batch was soaking in vinegar for 72 hours or 100 hours, or the like. I cannot believe that Chiavetta's survived and grew by selling vinegar delivered by way of chicken flesh. It was disappointing that Chiavetta did not seem to want to explore the fact that perhaps this was a bad batch. I first tried Chiavetta's Marinade while visiting family in Rochester, NY. I was hooked from the first bite. Living in South Florida, I never had anything like this vinegar based marinade and couldn't find it anywhere down here. On my last visit to NY, I picked up a few bottles and brought them back down. My friends at the firehouse were blown away by the flavor it gave or grilled chicken legs and thighs. We will soon be ordering a box of 12 to divide among the crew. read more

For starters, the food was absolutely amazing! Everything was piping hot and cooked perfectly, everyone had a wonderful meal. On top of that i had mistakenly thought their location was on bryant in downtown buffalo only to realize it was near derby. That being said the staff waited for me even after closing hours! Very disappointed in my experience with this company. My husband has occasionally called in an order to their Brant location when we're hosting a particular couple that likes "vinegar chicken". When I went to pick up the order I was told by the young man doing the grilling that he was just finishing up my order and it would be a few minutes. He never asked who I was or what I was waiting for but I figured I must have been the last order for pick-up as it was 2:10PM. I waited around outside for over 15 minutes and then sat some more in the office area after he brought the finished chicken inside to box it with my sides or so I thought. After I'd already been waiting inside patiently another customer walked in and stood there with his money out. When the worker came out of the back preparation area with several boxes he went right up to the man who had only been waiting a couple of minutes and took care of him right away!! Gee I don't know-maybe because I'm a woman I didn't have anything better to do but wait around while the men conducted their business? Anyway this jerk then told me my balance was over $200.00 and I said for 4 1/2 chickens and a couple of sides? Obviously he was too stupid to ask what my order was when I first arrived and my food was sitting in the back the whole time while I waited for 20 minutes!! No satisfaction when my husband called the next Monday either-the owner tried to make excuses like maybe the man was finishing my order when he didn't even ask what my order was when I first spoke with him on arrival and anyway if that was my order why did the idiot then say I owed him that much money? How they handled this was a good indication of their customer service. I'm sure they don't care that we won't be back but we have told this story to everyone we know In the hope that they can avoid a similar disappointing experience. There's too many places in the Southtowns to pick up good food and still be treated with courtesy-I never give my money to the places with poor customer service and encourage others to do the same. read more
