Being in western New York, I felt it was only right to go with the Beef on Weck with a blue cheese apple vineagarette salad. The sandwich was excellent. Definitely a staple of the area. The salad was very enjoyable, with the apples and blue cheese pairing well. 5/5 Service Staff were friendly and attentive. They came by multiple times to check on refills and satisfaction. 5/5 Ambiance A restaurant in a haunted hotel? What is not to like. 5/5 If you are in the area and you haven't given The White Inn a try, stop by and see for yourself.

Although our server was pleasant, the service was extremely slow. We were rarely checked on and were never asked if we wanted additional drinks or anything else. Our food arrived over an hour after we were seated, and everything was cold. I ordered the pork belly, which was tough and chewy, almost like leather. My entrée was so overly salty that it was completely inedible. My wife ordered the signature dish Lamp Lighter Chicken; the potatoes were also excessively salty, and the chicken itself was very dry. We informed our server, and while my entrée was comped, the manager never came to our table to apologize or even acknowledge the issues. I've been dining at the White Inn for many years, but sadly, this was my first and last visit under the new ownership.

Average hotel, you get what you pay for, can't really complain much. What I will complain about though, is that the lady at the front desk was not very knowledgeable about the rooms. We requested a room with USB charging ports (which is pretty common in hotel lamps), only to go up to the room and find out there was no USB charging ports. It was also apparently one of the newer renovated rooms, yet there were stains on the floor. We immediately went back down to change rooms and got an older room, but at least cleaner, however still no USB charging. Other than that, there's nothing else I can complain about. The beds were decently comfortable, you have toiletries like shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion all available in the bathroom, and you can call room service for extras. They however do not have slippers. There's also an ice bucket in the room to get ice from the ice machine, which is on every floor, along with vending machines. However there's only one water fountain, which is on the first floor. There is also a coffee machine with coffee and tea packets in the room. There is a closet by the door with a small safe. The TV also works fine. I believe they also have a pool and gym that we didn't visit. The continental breakfast (free) was small but acceptable, as you get what you paid for. They have things like toast, waffles, eggs, sausages, fruits, coffee, milk, cereal, juice. The dining area is quite nice, with a view of Lake Erie. The best part is probably the free parking and no absurd fees (at least when I visited). Overall, very decent hotel for the price. They just need to work on training the workers better, and maybe switching lamps with USB ports.

The only buttons that worked on the TV were off/on and volume. For the price we paid I expected much nicer. Breakfast was ok.

We stayed in the Foote suite, which was decorated in very soft yellow curtains and comforter. It also included two small chandeliers with adjustable lighting. The bathroom looked completely renovated with comfortable tiling and a nice big shower. We also purchased the lunch package which included two sandwiches, a choice of side, water bottles and cookie! It also included everything you need for the beach; towels, chairs, umbrella, blankets and books! We loved our lunch and looking for sea glass. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet get away, or anniversary celebration!

We arrived right at 3 for our check in and received a warm welcome from Lesley complete with a review of the property and tour of the space. Very helpful to know where everything is right away! Plus - a welcome cocktail and sweet bread was waiting for us! Delicious! The room: we stayed in La Due, which had an amazingly comfortable king bed, ceiling fan, and tub/shower combo. No detail goes unnoticed in the room, the towels are soft and match the floor rugs beautifully. Robes are available for guests and plenty of outlet space for charging is around the room. A note to visitors: the shared refrigerator for guests is only a mini-fridge, so there isn't much storage space. We'd suggest planning ahead and bringing a cooler for any larger items you wanted to store - or calling ahead to see about options. When we wanted to chill champagne, Lesley was wonderful to assist us with an ice bucket and two glasses! I highly recommend a trip here - friendly, relaxing, and so comfortable!

The room: peeling wallpaper, chipped paint, cracks in the floor and cracks in the ceiling, and floors so warped it's like a little skate park. The shower is small and dingy, also unlit. There's a light over the sink, but it's doesn't really reach the shower, especially with the shower curtain closed. The concert let out around 10:30, and we took a stroll around the grounds to skip rocks and look at constellations. When we got back to the hotel, bar closed. 11 on a Saturday night. Also no food to be had. Sunday morning continental breakfast was paltry at best. Even the coffee sucks, watery and tasteless. All this for the bargain price of about $400/night. For two of the crappiest double beds I've ever slept on. All that money is for the location.

Grant, Teddy Roosevelt, and Bill Clinton walked and stayed. We had a fantastic room at the end on the 2nd floor. It had been updated (see photos) and had a great view of the lake. There was even a charming porch area outside the room. The front desk staff were very polite, helpful, and quick to address issues. We loved our maid, too. She took care of our every need and made sure our room was cleaned properly. At the end of our visit, we asked her what some of her favorite rooms in the hotel were. She showed us each room and we reserved one for our 2025 visit. NOTE: I see that some of the less-than-stellar reviews knock the hotel for its restaurant, The Heirloom Restaurant. I agree that the food and service at the Heirloom are not that great and don't meet expectations for such a grand hotel. But I shared that in a separate 3-star review for the restaurant.

I may be young but I'm a graduate student at SUNY Fredonia and would never dream of smoking in general, and definitely never inside! The room was very expensive for what you get. $400+ for 2 nights. Because of this extreme price I tried to be proactive and meal prep for myself to save on money. Just to get to my room and realize that there was no microwave like the website advertised. There's one in the lobby but with weird buttons that seem to be designed to only heat up the breakfast items they serve. And with no elevator in this building I was not carrying my piping hot food back up the stairs every meal. The beds are comfy and they give plenty of pillows but there's so many noises in the room I could barely sleep. The air conditioner sounds like it's going to break down any minute and the walls are paper thin so I heard my neighbors every move all night. Next time I'll pay the extra $80 to stay across the street at the Best Western. Room is very outdated as well with stained and gross carpet and water stains in the bathroom.

The hotels are disgusting, but there is nothing else in the area, so they price gauge since you have no other options. It seems as if a glitch on the website caused issues and I was unaware of the reservations. Regardless, it was a mistake. When I reached out to the company, these rooms were somehow checked in with no guests and charged for full stays. You would think they would contact me or let me know there was a no show instead of charging for the full amount without any credit card authorization form. At first, they did not want to refund any of the money. Then they decided to charge me a no show fee for each room (4 rooms), still resulting in a charge of almost $500. You would think since we have been loyal regular customers with them, they would be a little more understanding and work with us. I guess it doesn't matter how much money you spend, they will still try to rip you off. Buyer beware...something is not right here.
