It is spread over three floors and has many different rooms all playing various sorts of music that suit all tastes. Last year they had a very good female artist playing guitar and singing then in the next room it was 80's Old Skool!! The staff are very helpful and door staff friendly, I have rarely seen any trouble or 'incidents' at Sugar Mill, the people that go in there are generally over 21 and just want to have a good night.

Prices vary but the most expensive is a pint at around £4: Cheapest £1. they range from strong to OMG! Beer £1.20 a pint, spirits are 45p a shot Food is available upstairs and downstairs, along with bottles of house wine - a vegetarian selection too. Chip butty 50p There is a bus service for students from the Uni. Lots of students go but any age is welcome. It's for the misfits really who don't fit into the regular club scene. Great friendly place. Punks, Skaters, Goths etc. On warm nights there is an outdoor area with shelters a bit like bike sheds. The boast is you can get in, get drunk, eat and get a taxi home for under £20. Hotels are cheap if you live somewhere else.

With 3 rooms the music is from funky house in the main room to my particular favouirte in the back room. I have had some of the best nights out in this club. Door fee from £5 and drinks are not be badly priced. They no longer hold their cabaret and karaoke nights in the club as these are now held in 1 of their pre bar, The Yorkshireman - but this is a fab night out for all. I remember when PJ & Duncan (Ant & Dec), Mandy Dingle (Lisa Rielly) and a few other famous (or not so famous) faces have passed through those doors! Oh those Thursday nights when it was 10p a pint, it would have been rude not to go!! Saldy Tower is no more - it did briefly open again but failed misserably as it tried to go 'up market' and become a members only, however i only know 1 person who went! Clubs, not just in Hull, haved changed vastly over the years and i think it would take a lot to re-vamp this building and take it back to it's hay day and bring it into the 21st century!

Musicians can also rent out the club to perform their own music and then they earn the fee that people pay to get in (usually a pound or 2). It hosts alternative music and has a huge following of Adelphi lovers. I dont think theres a cloak room and it's not so clean, so dont bring your best coat, it may end up on the floor! Punters were chatty and friendly. The assorted real ales are superb. recently they open new rooms upstairs doubling the size but downstairs it is dark and dingy with a snug. Black paintwork and nicotine walls. Black Boy dates back to the 1330s, though the first reference to licenced premises on the site was in 1729. Most now is 17th and 18th century. Ye Olde Black Boy is the definitive genuine traditional Olde English pub and of course it has a ghost. it is a little slave boy (hence the name) who was a servant there before the abolishion. Well worth a look!
