I'm so glad I checked Yelp before leaving the Glebe market area...and wish Ozzie's used Yelp more frequently! This little gem could easily be missed, but wow would you be missing out on some great food. I got the Glebe Goodness Bowl with chicken and it was the most deliciously satisfying lunch I've had in ages. Not to mention the open window seating with warm sunshine creeping in. Although my hunger was completely satisfied with the bowl, I had to close the meal with something, and opted for their chai tea. Wow, it didn't disappoint either! Comforting flavor, zesty spice, creamy texture...perfection! I only wish this was a place I could visit more often, as it was definitely worth trying more on the menu. The Glebe Goodness Bowl was delicious and filling - just the right amount of brown rice and delicious roast veg with kale. The nuts add a great texture and the turmeric tahini dressing was en point. Love when I find good plant based dishes. Thumbs up also for their chai tea. It was great to sit at the bench on a glorious autumn day but the sun did get a bit intense. The owner read my first review and asked me to come back in and give it another try so I popped in here yesterday with a friend and boy was I impressed! The service was 100 times better. When I asked about the muesli he tried to explain it to me then just gave me a little to try which was really nice of him- we took a seat and ordered the bircher, tomato & ricotta bruschetta, a flat white and an iced tea. The iced tea not only looked gorgeous but had a really lovely rose infused taste. I think it was a jasmine based tea with rose petals too- very cute, tasty & light pink in colour. The bircher was delish. Came with a rhubarb compote and a yoghurt. Flat white was great too- temp maybe a little cold but otherwise all flavours were nice and subtle. Very tasty. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had! Seating can be a bit tricky at times, so I tend to just get take away. You can easily boil in the sun on a hot day so take care in where you sit. The food is absolutely delicious and well worth a visit. Bit of a downer is that they only take cash, thankfully 7/11 is across the road with an ATM machine. read more

The staff are just wonderfully friendly even though the cafe was packed and it took us 10 mins to be seated. Their breakfast plate is great and very filling! All their food seems fresh and well made. However, I wasn't a huge fan of the Rose-berry non-dairy smoothie that I ordered which I think was a bit overpriced (at $8.50). I wouldn't recommend that if you want something sweet. But if you like superfood smoothies and green smoothies (they had one of those too) then I'm sure you'll like it. In summary, it's a very "aesthetic", tiny cafe with a cute vibe that suits Glebe perfectly. It's a great place to go for lunch after a day at the markets. If it wasn't for this place we wouldn't have wandered down to Glebe from the CBD. Make sure you do because Glebe is definitely one of the coolest suburbs in Sydney. Wedge Espresso is a hole-in-the-wall breakfast/brunch place that could be a bit hard to find if you're just looking on the main street. Its unique longitudinal benches that face the road makes for an interesting perspective as you're dining. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating as well. This is the perfect place to people watch as you're drinking coffee watching people walk and drive past while you're curing your hangover from the night before. Try the homemade juices in the bottles, not only are they yum, they are also YUM. (yes, you know the difference.) I got the Glebe super bowl with extra chicken and salmon, and they were pretty generous with the serving. Not only was the whole salad fresh and delicious, it was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. It's no wonder this place is rated so highly, it is amazing and so deserving of its praise. Will definitely come back! read more

I had a hard time deciding what to rate this place, tossing up on either 3 or 4 stars. I loved the venue - cozy little espresso bar with more room then I had thought after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures. Corrugated metal along the walls and large open windows with benches that allow a pleasant view of the street scape, great for people watching. The service - great, in a word. The guy that served us was very friendly, happy to talk, and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. Food - I shared the fig and ricotta on sourdough, and it was quite good. I am not sure if it was coincidence, but both of us felt slightly queasy after the snack. As for the coffee: Coffee: Double macchiato Bean: 5 senses Crema: Not bad, could have come through the froth a little stronger 7/10 Overall Taste: Slightly bitter, under-expressed? 6.5/10 Served in: Small glass (+1) Preparation: Apart from the slightly bitter taste it was reasonably well prepared, a nice amount of milk (i.e. not too much), as I mentioned above the crema and froth were a little too layered for my liking, I prefer when the crema really comes through the froth. Apparently from reading other reviews they have some single origin espresso's which I did not try - the service and venue were good enough that I would happily return with a friend and try this next time. read more

Now I don't normally subject myself to so obviously an indie-prolific establishment such as this place but at the time I did require some more than decent food to sustain me through an upcoming 4hr appointment and this cafe was the most convenient, nearby appropriate spot. When I walked in the crowd was expected and half full, but enough space where I didn't have to sit at the people-watching seats. I ordered an Iced Milo and The Henry. The sandwich was well enough, except I misinterpreted that chipotle mayo bite cause it was hotter than expected for someone with zero spicy tolerance. Spicy fans would call it tame, spice wise. Anywho what I'm saying is the don't not order The Henry just because I'm spice bias cause it is nice...sans the spice. And the rocket, I excluded that out too. I pretty much deconstructed a panini to how I make it at home folks so order what you want. Just not my crowd, but food was adequate when I had time to spend. read more

It is the first time that I have been back to The Wedge since it was sold, and in most instances that would mean that I was in for a poor shadow of the cafes former glory. In this case, that could not be further from the truth. The new owners and staff have taken up the mantle and moved ahead, not backwards. They should great passion for what they do, and for the community that they serve. It is great to see. It is also great to see that they are really paying attention to what their customers want by specifically choosing the Tightrope over other options. More so, thanks to the support of Sample Coffee Roasters, they have a great selection of singles on hand. Now all they need is to update their grinder... :-) read more

It may be unfair of me to review this place, as it only opened its doors to the public at the beginning of this week, but I'm going to touch on it now and return later, if only to get the word out. Wedge is positioned in an awkward little corridor 'building' just off Glebe Point Rd, directly opposite Glebe Public School. They make no apologies for the space and use it well, with a long bench and cream stools lining their large, open bi-fold windows. Their style is stark and trendy, and a seat at this bar is a voyeuristic dream as you watch Glebe pass by your peeping window. The food menu is as petite as the shop itself, made up of a couple of sandwiches , toasts and a bircher. Their drinks menu is far more extensive, with coffee beans by 5 Senses and 'artisan' teas by Tea Craft. I had the Iced Tea (a blend of Ceylon OP, Hibiscus, Rose Buds, Rose Petals and Silver Jasmine sweetened and served over ice - $5) which was very nice, although I wouldn't recommend ordering it if you're thirsty as it could make for one expensive single gulp. LIVE UPDATE: I'm sat at Wedge's big bench seat watching the Glebe Point and Cowper Road pedestrian traffic go by, with a latte in one hand and a pulled pork sambo with spring onion, mint, coriander, salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil in the other. That's right kidlets, this shizz is going down right now, this is live Yelp reporting where you hear it here first, *as it happens*: - One girl just trotted down the back and claimed the vacant couch corner. A dude who had his eye on it is looking disappointed. - Some guy just sipped on a cappucino, closed his eyes and whispered "Mmm, nuttty" to himself. He doesn't know there's a bubble of froth on his mustache. - A guy who looks homeless just walked past and gave a girl at the bench seat a newspaper saying "There you go love". She was, of course, reading a newspaper at the time, rendering this gift lovely, but wholly redundant. - Some young guy in tight jeans and a cable knit sweater is shooting the breeze with the dudes working the counter 'n' coffee, he looks like a friend of theirs but maybe he's just chatty. I'm unsure as to whether he will order anything. - A stressed-looking girl next to me is drawing a map of Australia with a Coca Cola bottle inside it with lots of arrows and captions. She's probably in marketing. - Two girls get a big beautiful bowl of bircher and a serve of brushetta. I get a whiff of garlic as it goes by. Excellent. That's it for now. Yes yes! I have a new favourite breakfast. The Wedge "Breakfast Plate" is decadent, yet healthy. It was EXACTLY what I wanted on a hungover Saturday morning last weekend. Avocado on toast (with plenty of olive oil, sea salt & pepper), a boiled egg (not too hard boiled), prosciutto, fresh chopped tomato .... and a side of Bircher muesli. It was absolutely bloody fantastic. Truly. Simple ingredients - but everything was oh-so-fresh, and nicely presented. The rest of the menu looked great too, and I will definitely be back. Glebe side-street magic. It's a very funky cafe fit-out: but because it's a little wedge-shaped shop, it's sometimes hard to nab a table at this place (I have tried and failed, in the past). You can sit on the bar and look out onto the street, or find a rustic looking little table. The coffee was solid and professional, and the service was friendly without being overbearing. read more

I was scouting out some good places for espresso and this fell into my radar. I have to say it took me a few crosses to find it, it's tucked away down the side of Cowper St rather than on Glebe Pt Rd. Two people out the back were flat chat getting coffees out but having said that the coffee was really good - not as strong as I normally have it, but nicely done nonetheless. After reading some of the reviews here I had the pulled pork sandwich and yes, its as good as others have said. Marinated pork, mint and lovely bread with large chunks of grain throughout. No butter but olive oil instead. Very good. I'll be back and bringing others just for the food. Friendly service. If its windy you might get a barrage of papers and light soil on you as the design of the place tend to acts like a wind tunnel. I do like how most of it is set up to face out onto the street. read more

I went to Wedge after several people told me it was one of the best brunch spots in Sydney. I'll keep this review short, as Yelpers have commented on how amazing the food is - and it is. I had the roast chicken sandwich with the iced tea. The chicken was well cooked and perfectly seasoned, and the bread was scrumptious and crispy. The food came very quickly! Also, our waitress was a very lovely and patient girl. What I was rather unimpressed with was the general cleanliness of the place. I asked for water and a very dirty bottle of water with equally dirty glasses. Thankfully my iced tea came with a straw! The tables were not wiped with a rag after patrons left, and there was a general mess about the cafe. Despite the excellent food, I would have second thoughts about going back due to the general hygiene of the place. read more

This place is a true gem! I've been here before for coffee which was good but the food is also delicious and relatively healthy in a trendy way. I highly recommend the white beans dish which is a large serving of white beans in a tomato sauce with some chunky chorizo. Served with sourdough. Yum! My husband and I love wedge espresso - it's probably our favorite breakfast place in all of Sydney. They have great food, though the menu is fairly short - the quality is high. It's a small place, so you have to wait sometimes - but the staff is wonderful and the food makes me happy every time. The breakfast plate and the pulled pork sandwich are our favorites. read more

Had breakfast here with my family early on a Sunday morning and it was just perfection. The service, atmosphere, menu and food were all perfect. Wedge is such a cute hole in the wall cafe and I will most definitely be back to eat the rest of the menu and people watch. I woke up hungover and was in desperate need of food before hitting up the Glebe Markets (this place is right across the street) and their brekkie roll and a couple of flat whites got me right. Super fan here. It's so great to have a proper espresso bar in Glebe. I don't want to repeat what others have said, but this is truly a fantastic place to spend time in, either perched up on the stools, or tucked away in the back corner. Great for people watching, socialising or reading the paper. One thing I've recently discovered is their food menu. I love the pulled pork sandwich, but have found out they now have a new menu. One of the best breakfast places in Glebe for sure. The sandwiches and salads are on another level and the coffee is top notch.

The Wedge is not f'ing around with their chai lattes. Comes in an *actual* chai teapot, infusing the steamed milk with its luscious combo of spices, coming complete with a strainer on the side to pour your tea through, catching all of the *actual* real spices that make this tea incredible. A small side pot of warmed honey to stir into the the best chai latte in town completes the experience. Other coffee shops selling that powdered, overly-sweet crapola that masquerades as "chai tea" should hang their heads in shame! read more

It's nice to see that even a hole in the wall is being filled with amazing things in Glebe. This coffee shop is indeed carved out of the side of a building but it works. It's cute. This place seems to have a following and their coffee is good but I want more sweets on the menu. Finally went in after years of walking past and I was sincerely blown away by the food and the super friendly staff. I ordered the ginger cold press juice and vegetable scramble with chorizo in a hope to boost my immune system and it worked as a I felt super vital after my visit. It was my first trip to Wedge Espresso today & I was not disappointed. The service was great with a small but varied menu and changes welcomed by the staff. My lunch choice - The Henry - delicious! My dining companion had the cheese sandwich but dropped the meat to turn it vego & added a few more pickles. The coffee was great, as was the old-style lemonade which was a raspberry mix today. Wow! Really great coffee! The cafe has a funky vibe and relaxed atmosphere. We had a very late lunch, and the chefs & staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Salads were very tasty.
