I'm not a totally picky person, but I can get pretty anxious about wanting to control everything and "run the show." From the beginning, Chad and the event center staff were very communicative in the process of quotes, contracts, and booking. We were able to have a wonderful wedding at a completely reasonable price, which is nearly impossible in the area. All-inclusive is the way to go! Did not have to worry about a thing. The only extras we had to pay for were cake, photographer, flowers, and smaller things that we wanted like guestbook. The day-of wedding staff was AMAZING. I do not give compliments lightly. I grew up in theatre and they were like the most perfect stage managers any cast or director could ask for. I did not have to worry about a THING. Even the things that I forgot, I just asked if they could do (like I decided not to change for my send-off because I was having too much fun), and they did it with the most efficiency and grace. I cannot say enough good things about them for day-of coordination. Planning a wedding was still stressful (obviously), but there were so few things I had to worry about before because of their comprehensive bridal packet. During, I literally felt like my most trusted companions were taking care of everything with the same care I would give. The food was incredible. Guests were raving about the food and drinks. We requested steak and different sides, and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals of my life. Then, they packed up the leftovers for us and we got to enjoy them all over again the next day! The owner has Disney event training, and it truly shows. They have weddings down to a formula without everyone feeling like they followed a formula. Our wedding felt unique and our own. We're very grateful to the owner and staff.

They made us feel so special and so effortlessly happy. We felt like royalty!! I mean they took care of EVERYTHING you could possibly imagine for you!! Even things I didn't think of! On top of that, the venue is just perfect. It's beautiful and they make it so easy to really bring your entire vision to life! Not to mention.... THE FOOD! The food is outstanding! Every single one of our guests came back to tell us how lovely the evening was, how beautiful the venue is, and how delicious the food is!! I HIGHLY recommend this venue! **big plus for us too was that they made sure we always had a drink if needed AND they packed up food and cake for us to enjoy after and the next days! We appreciated that SO much because my husband and I really didn't have the time to eat all the food in the moment!!**

This place has incredibly beautiful grounds, especially with the lights lit up at night, and the house has a cool retro vibe. The cottage and the room above the barn are extra cute! The staff was wonderful, and everything was done to perfection! From the house to the parking and set-up... everything went smooth. There were about 200 guests and there was enough room for everyone to spread out so that we didn't feel crowded. The house and the grounds were clean and comfortable. We also had the opportunity to spend the night, and we absolutely loved it! The owners thought of everything! I highly recommend this venue for your special event! You won't be disappointed!

After 15 minutes we get the wine. Again, it's maybe 2 tables of people. We get our 3rd appetizer over 60 minutes later. We ordered another bottle of wine, the most expensive, along with 3 more appetizers. The appetizers came out a little quicker. It took us 30 minutes for the check and to get the card back. It's a Friday, there is a cover band and it got pretty crowded. My problem is, there were 2 people serving and one of the servers, our server, is now bartending! There were 2 other people when we got there, who I assumed were the owners. 2 people can not handle a Friday night crowd on their own. Service was sloooooow. Atmosphere and food were very good. I actually felt bad for the servers. Shame on the management!

The Northshore Harbor Center is Slidell's answer to the Pontchartrain Center…read more I attended a dance recital at this venue a few months ago. While the dance recital was 92.7% pure hell, the venue itself was pretty nice. The parking area is very large and convenient. Most of the parking is on rocks instead of concrete, so your car will get dirty. If you are a clean freak, I suggest trying for one of the coveted paved spots. The setup is very similar to the main floor of the Pontchartrain Center. There was a large stage, plentiful floor seating and additional stadium style seating in the rear. I could see how this venue would work well for several different types of events. The facility seems relatively new, and as a result, it was very clean. The bathrooms were well designed and had no issue handling the large crowd of dance moms and dejected looking dudes. Outside there is a nice man made lake. I assume it is some sort of retention pond, but there were ducks in it. Everyone loves ducks. Another big plus for the facility is that it is located on the Northshore. That means I no longer have to drive all the way to Kenner to be shaken down by the dance mafia. I can experience that lovely fleecing in the comfort of my own home parish. In summary, this is a good venue for events. While dance recitals are pretty brutal, the venue did a good job hosting.

Prior to that it was a school cafeteria which had the same problem. The Mandeville City Hall is not only well organized as a precinct, but if you do have to wait it is surrounded by gardens which make your wait a bit more pleasant. The commissioners are very friendly and personable. they are also very good with kids and will help keep them entertained while you cast your ballot. I actually don't live in the incorporated city, so I can't comment on their government practices, but as the place I vote, this place is great.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel…read more Upon arrival, the front desk attendant was repeatedly hacking and coughing and appeared visibly ill. It was not the first impression I expected when checking into a hotel. Unfortunately, the room itself was also disappointing. The carpet was dirty, there was an old cough drop and a granola bar underneath the bed, and the air vent blew dust into the room when it turned on. These issues made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned before our stay. To make matters worse, there was a wedding taking place at the hotel, and the reception appeared to be directly outside our room. The music was extremely loud and continued until around 9:30 p.m. Traveling with a small child, this made bedtime difficult and significantly impacted our experience. The restaurant experience was equally frustrating. I ordered chicken tenders for my child, but they arrived covered in a spicy buffalo-style sauce, making them inedible for a young child. I charged the meal to my room and only discovered several days later, after requesting an itemized receipt, that a 22% tip charge had been added. I was never informed of this 22% tip charge when ordering. When I called to ask about it, the manager explained that the 22% charge was for room service tip. However, the food was never delivered to my room. I was required to walk to the restaurant and pick it up myself. While I didn't mind retrieving the food, I do mind being charged a substantial tip for a service that wasn't provided. To make matters worse, my hands were full carrying three drinks and a bag of food back to the room, and one of the overfilled drinks spilled along the way. I also spoke directly with the hotel manager regarding the 22% tip charge. I explained that I was never informed ahead of time that this charge would be added and that the food was not actually delivered to my room. Instead, I had to walk to the restaurant and pick it up myself. The manager did not seem concerned that I was being charged what was described as a room service fee without receiving traditional room service. What bothered me most was not just the charge itself, but the lack of transparency and the apparent unwillingness to acknowledge why a guest might find that frustrating. If they had actually delivered the food themself I would have tipped more. The combination of the dirty room, excessive noise, unexpected charges, and poor dining experience made for a very disappointing stay. I would not stay here again and would not recommend either the hotel or the restaurant.
