The shows are original works and include drama and comedy -- often with music. This past weekend I saw "Survivors of the Fire," which was about the great Hinkley fire. Really a creative and well done show. A memorable experience. Upcoming shows are "Till Death," and "Joyful Noise." If you're looking for a really sweet and different date night and enjoy small theater and original story telling, grab a seat here! This company lives and breaths this stuff. They even run kids theater camps in the summer. Online ticket ordering is easy, parking is close and on the street. Every production begins with free treats and coffee in the lower level will-call area. The best part is you get to support small theater, relevant storytelling, and an original experience.

The seats are extremely tight, not much leg room and a bit uncomfortable after a while. I feel like the guides weren't very helpful at getting people to their seats. I I'm still not sure where they label the sections, I had to ask several people and that made some other people realize they were in the wrong seats/section. The lobby opens 1 hr before the show but the doors to be seated don't open until 30 min prior. I suggest getting there 15-20 min before the show starts for smoother entry. You will still have time to grab a drink and find your seats without the hassle of the pre show crowd. It was so chaotic. The drinks are spendy for what you get but they don't take tips so I guess it somewhat evens out. You can request a lid for your drink which for me is a must in these crowded spaces. Not my fav theatre but the if there's a play I'd like to see, I'd go here!

The restrooms were clean when I visited at the start of the evening. I'd come back for shows considering it's so small. The only complaint, exit was slow and crowded even though there were plenty of exit options but they were kept close, leaving one bottle-neck exit out the main doors.

There is no designated parking area but there is paid street parking (free on Sundays and after 10pm) as well as plenty of paid parking lots and ramps nearby. There is a slightly raised platform with a railing that I always try to snag a spot at as it offers a great view (especially for us short people). Most of my pics are taken from that exact spot. The floor can get pretty cramped but most of the crowds I've encountered have been very friendly. The theater itself is old but beautiful. The upstairs area shows exposed beams and bricks which I think adds to the charm!

Seats are comfortable and have good leg room and not really a bad seat in the place. I also love the addition of the concert hall for smaller events. Staff are always helpful and friendly. The bars always do a fun drink that rotates for the show at the time. Do yourself a favor and pre-order a drink for intermission if you plan to have refreshments at that time. The one drawback here is parking. The ramps aren't super close (although, they're within an easy walk) and street parking in this area is always chaos, so give yourself plenty of time before your show to find space. If you haven't had the chance to enjoy and event here, get yourself to the Ordway!

It's definitely my preferred theater in the Cities!…read more Parking is a bit of a toss-up...here are my go-tos: hope for a miracle and get street parking, pay a little more and get a spot in a nearby garage, get a bite beforehand at the St. Paul Grill and use their Valet :) The space itself is very modern and clean! I actually like that it is updated and not a "historic" theater. You don't have steep staircases, old bathrooms, or impossibly tight leg room! Tickets are usually reasonably priced, and my favorite "cheat code" is to buy the "limited view" seats in the front corners, as they are significantly discounted, and often only have a minimal disruption in the view. Staff is always friendly and excited to welcome you to the show! They have snacks, coffee, and alcoholic drinks available for purchase, but often frown upon you bringing it into the theater with you, so plan ahead and get there before the show to enjoy!

The theater is unassuming, on a little strip mall, where there's plenty of parking ... and once inside...it's magic! The stage makes great use of space and very creative with the set and lighting. Seating is excellent... not a bad seat in the house. I didn't know photos weren't allowed, the one picture I took and posted of the set was when I walked in. Oops I turned off my phone after that was announced. I loved the play and the theater. I plan to come back again and again! Oh, we are still in COVID times, so everyone in the audience need to wear a mask.

The theater offers concessions and beverages to consume during the shows, however this has been suspended during the pandemic. From the street the theater is part of a strip mall on Osseo and isn't anything remarkable. Parking is plentiful and fairly well lit. The theater still requires proof of vac, and that patrons wear masks. Being in a high risk category, I appreciate the precautions! Yellow Tree is a great local theater worthy of your attention! Majority of the seats have a warning on their website that the legroom is nonexistent. There are some blind spots to be aware of, and the box seating definitely misses much of the side stage. We used A View From My Seat to see what each seat is like before we booked seats for Cursed Child, and am so glad we did. It was like sorting through a landmine trying to find a seat that had decent views in our price point and getting an aisle spot to the legroom didn't affect us as much. Definitely do your research before picking a seat here!

When you walk in you are immersed in historical beauty from the stunning chandelier to the detailed woodwork. We are so fortunate that we have the privilege to have such a preserved historical theater. Now mind you it is historical, so the seats can be a bit tight if you are working with winter jackets and football sized men. The bathrooms are certainly a bit of a game here if you are here for a show that has a intermission. The security line at the front door can be a bit challenging on a cold winter day, but there are additional entrances through the skyway and side entrance. The lobby has many bars that are very quick every time we go. If you do pay on a card, they automatically add a 18% tip.
