He got to the bottom of an issue that we had with ceiling cracks where he not only fixed the crack, but braced the drywall so that the ceiling was even again - it looks brand new now! With his work, he shows that he cares about the final product for the customer while showing the need for perfection and pride in his work. We would definitely recommend Jason to anyone for any major painting job.

He takes the time to do the job the right way, not the down and dirty quick way so he can be done with you and on to his next job. Jason painted about 90% of our home's interior. There was a lot of damage from ice dams from the bad winter we had. Jason covered all the stains on our walls and actually repaired all of our damaged wood trim. Some of that damage was from previous owners who left many holes in the wood. There were numerous cracks from age and settling. Jason fixed them all so well they can no longer be seen. He also sunk nail heads that had popped through the wood. Jason actually also repaired numerous imperfections in our walls - from water damage and from many holes left from improperly hung wall items from previous owners. Jason covered everything in every room of our house. It actually looked like we were in an Ebola isolation ward. I say this as a compliment since Jason took remarkable steps to protect our furnishings. So, if you want a job that is done right, Jason is your man. Painting is not an inexpensive undertaking. However, be assured that you will get more than your moneys worth from Jason. It is abundantly apparent that he believes in the philosophy of delivering more than one promises.

Our very tired 1980s kitchen was desperately in need of an update. We finally got around to getting…read morethe abysmal backsplash replaced and the light fixtures updated, but our oak cabinets were drab and dated. We didn't have the budget for a full kitchen renovation so we knew painting the cabinets was the way to go. When we purchased the house, we had the delusion that we'd paint the cabinets ourselves, but as the months went by, we knew we lacked the time or skill to complete the project and had to call in the professionals. 518 Painters was one of three quotes we obtained. We found 518 Painters solely through web research. It did take a couple of calls to hear back, but we soon after we set up a time for an estimate. Juan's estimate was competitive (and he got back to us with the quote within a few days) -- about on par with one quote and less than our highest quote -- and he had sooner availability than the other company. He gave us a date about six weeks out. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication with a start date and an issue with a family emergency that pushed it back a couple more weeks than we had originally discussed, but once Juan started on our kitchen, his communication was excellent. Juan showed up on time every day, bright and early. He checked in every day either in person or through text. He talked to me in detail about the products he'd be using and any concerns/questions I had about them. He sealed off the kitchen in a way that kept our pets out, but allowed us access when needed (a zipper in the plastic drape at the door, so helpful). He was also pleasant to deal with -- friendly and upbeat. He made sure the door was locked when he left each day, and I trusted him in our home. When we realized, unfortunately after the project was complete, that the paint color on the cabinets did not seem right (turns out, paint store made a mistake and provided the wrong shade of paint!), Juan came back and repainted as soon as he could. He took responsibility and made good on his end of the bargain to be sure we were completely happy. Yes, this is the right thing to do, but home ownership has taught me that not every person will stand by their work. Juan does stand by his work 100%. If there's any area of his painting that you want fixed/adjusted, he'll immediately take care of it. He also promises to come back and do touch ups any time there is a scratch or nic in the paint. He cleans up well when he's finished and your home is not left a mess. Further, Juan took it even a step further to make sure that our kitchen painting project looked its best. Painting the cabinets required the removal of a vinyl baseboard the prior homeowners had installed around the island. Since the color of the vinyl would not match with the new paint color we chose, Juan suggested putting in wooden base moulding, and offered to do this work himself (and at no additional cost!). I am so pleased that he suggested this because it looks so much better than what was there before. Having our kitchen cabinets repainted was a big financial investment for us, but I am happy to say that it was fully worth it. Our kitchen looks 100x better. As the project has only just been completed, I can't yet speak to how the paint job will stand the test of time, but for now, it looks great. I am glad we chose Juan and 518 Painters to help us bring our kitchen into this decade. He is truly an excellent choice if you are looking for someone to update your kitchen cabinets!

Wayne powerwashed and stained the exterior of my Adirondack style home on Lake Nancy in July 2023…read more From the day he quoted the job until the day the work was completed, Wayne did what he said he would do. The weather was rainy and he was very careful to ensure that stain wasn't applied while the house was still damp. There were no drips anywhere. The stain was applied evenly and thoroughly. Tarps and masking tape were used where needed. Great atttention to detail. His staff was courteous and reliable. I am very pleased with the job and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any painting job. If you hire Wayne, you won't be disappointed. Diane B.

Scammy. Wayne came and quoted my job, and was originally…read moresupposed to do it in October 2022, then it was pushed off till Spring, which spring turned into August. I was MORE than patient with him. He finally came to my house to do the job, after numerous no shows that past week and a half. When he arrived he asked to come out to review what we wanted to do, and it was filled with bait and switches. He was impatient, rude and off putting immediately if I tried asking any questions, and threatened to leave. He refused to do the work we originally agreed on which was the areas of the front of the house visible from the street or even have a conversation/work with me on what I wanted. I kindly reminded him we can calmly talk things through to get on the same page, and work things out, after all, it had been over a YEAR since I was quoted. I reminded him that the thinking was that if we were renting a lift, that we would do all the areas that would require it, so that we didn't have to rent it again... Logical, right? I even broke down and offered to pay more to have the section I wanted to be painted... This was when he admitted he didn't rent the lift like he was supposed to. At that point, I ended up going along with what he said he would do because I had waited so long and needed it done. Then, he told me that the paint was not included and I needed to pay for it separately, which was not notated anywhere in the quote that it was the clients responsibility. The quote gave the totals in the column, and gave the grand total at the bottom of the amount we agreed to including the paint, and then I realized the total at the bottom didn't even add up to any of the amounts given, it was very obscure, and disorganized leaving me, the client, feeling like he was trying to take advantage of me. Any attempt to discuss with him to review the quotes, problem solve, see if there was misunderstandings lead to hyper defensiveness, rude behavior, and again threaten to leave. After numerous times to sooth him I just let him go. He even got mad at me for even asking if I could pick the color of white for my own house, and threatened to leave over that! Not multiple colors, one color. If he had made a mistake and admitted it, and we could have talked it out and fixed it, and came to resolution. The whole experience was terrible, and completely unprofessional. We had agreed to do a portion of the house this year, and the other portion in the next year or two, and then at the end he admitted he didn't want to do the job because he didn't want to only do half. I told him I wish he had told be before and I would have changed plans, and not waited a year longer than we originally talked about. I do not appreciate dishonesty, and being dragged along just to be treated rudely to get out of a job. Simply communicate well. I would definitely not recommend him. After a year of waiting to have my house painted, I will probably have to wait till next year to get someone that available. To say the least, I'm livid.
