This is my 2nd review for The W Spa --- I just cannot say enough good things! When I find a place where the services are not only phenomenal but the customer service is out of this world as well, I just have to share. I've been a regular customer for 10+ years and have loved watching their business grow. I regularly see Kim W. for eyebrow waxing and she is so talented---a true artist! She always makes me feel comfortable, beautiful and happy. I look forward to my appointments with her not just because of how it makes me look but because I love just chatting with her! I've also tried the 'lash lift' with Kim and love it, I couldn't believe the difference it made. Last week I had my very first facial ever with Kim and I was totally blown away, as soon as it was over I was thinking of wanting to book another appointment. I did have a very slight problem and could not have asked for a more professional, courteous and caring resolution. I have found that you find out the true 'core beliefs' of a business when something doesn't go as expected and The W Spa has once again proven to me that they truly care about their customers. That kind of experience only reinforces my love and loyalty for them. Today I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage with Lisa Jo and I left feeling amazing. Lisa Jo is such a kind person, so genuine and caring and her massages are out of this world. Worth every penny! I also look forward to seeing Lisa Jo simply because she is so wonderful to talk with. I have compared their prices to other places and while I think some things are a bit more expensive there, I have found it to be worth it. The spa is beautiful, peaceful and immaculate. Relaxing experience. I had a spring facial : this was delightful! I felt refreshed and rejuvenated! I also got a massage which left me wishing for more. I asked for more pressure but didn't receive it. I'd say it was a pleasant experience but if you're looking for deep tissue or pressure release this likely isn't the place. If you're a first time client or even a regular client returning after a long time beware. First, I would like to say as an eyebrow artist the senior esthetician is great, she does a good job and is very personable so this review doesn't reflect the actual service but the spa. I have been going to The W Spa whenever I am in town since it was originally called The Waxing Studio, so we'll over 10 years. I am currently home and needed a waxing service so I booked my appointment. When I called to make my appointment, never once was I informed that I was being booked with a senior esthetician. Being booked with the senior esthetician means there is a price difference for brows, which should be communicated to the customer. Had I known I would've asked for someone else due to the price difference ($35 vs $28). I booked an eyebrow and a Brazilian which I've been having done for awhile. Brazilian is normally everything but for some reason they only do the front and charge you an extra $15 for the back, which is ridiculous for 4 strips of wax. Also, I've been having a Brazilian for well over 10 years and this is the first place I've been to that charges you for the back which is actually supposed to be part of a Brazilian wax. So I'm in the middle of my wax and she stopped the Brazilian after only doing the front area, when I inquired about the back she's like "oh that's an Australian". In my head I'm like wtf is an Australian but whatever I finished the wax (no mention of the price difference). After my appointment I googled what an Australian wax is and lone behold it doesn't exist. If you see the photo I included, a Brazilian is front and back. This "Australian" is a bs excuse for them to charge you extra money. Now mind you I have been living in California for four years...my esthetician charges $55 for a Brazilian, which includes front and back as it should and then $30 for a new brow and $25 for a touch up. When I went to check out, I expressed my displeasure and the person at the front desk didn't do anything in an attempt to make it right. So not only was I charged $35 for an eyebrow, I was also charged an extra $15 for an Australian. So what normally would be an $80 appointment suddenly turned into a $113 appointment. OH and the kicker is they're still using talc powder (aka baby powder) for the Brazilian/Bikini/Australian waxes despite the fact that it's known to cause cervical cancer. This is also something in the years I've been waxed that I have never had an esthetician do. They really need to look at how they do their waxing process because using talc powder is outdated. So if you've made it this far great, hopefully this makes you question if you want a service from them. I certainly won't be going back, they over charge and there is no customer service experience. There was nothing about this experience that made me want to come back or recommend them to a person I know. Shame too because they used to be a great place to go. read more

I have been to the W spa twice now. Once for a prenatal massage and then again postpartum for a belly mask and an express facial. If there is one thing that I have learned about the W spa is that they do not go above and beyond for their clients. I came here for my prenatal massage with my husband and we were 5 minutes late. When we arrived we had to fill out some paperwork which took an additional 5 minutes. By the time we got in for the massage- 15 minutes had passed since we arrived. We paid for the 60 minute massage but only got 45 minutes, 75%. It was disappointing that the spa was not more understanding for running late to appointments. They should really preface that you need to arrive 15 minutes early to get the entire 60 minute massage. The same experience happened to me the second time that I went there. I arrived exactly on time for my last session here and yet again they made me fill out paperwork and my massage was cut 15 minutes short to accommodate it and going to the back and getting undressed. Why is there no flexibility with the times?? I have a baby at home and I tired to get there early!! I was exactly on time and still didn't get a full service. To top it all off I got overcharged for my service. The desk attendant told me I could use it as a credit but since I am moving, I just want my money back. Quite frankly both massages were just less than mediocre and I don't think I would even go back if I was staying in Buffalo. It's been almost 2 weeks and they have still not reimbursed me. read more

This place was AMAZING. My husband and I have been to plenty of spas for relaxing massages..and this one by far, beats out the rest. They ushered us right into our rooms, no silly getting dressed into robes and sandals, and having to wait in another room. Gianna was a wonderful therapist, her technique was perfect. The isometric movements she used coupled with the perfect amount of pressure, made for the best massage I had. The vibe was also wonderful as my husband was right next to me, and I barely even heard Callie working on my husband. He also has nothing but great things to say about her! To start the receptionist was so incredibly friendly. She addressed all of my questions over the phone, greeted me walking in, and printed the brochure for me to take home (which I asked for). The second you step into the spa you get the instant sense of calming...between the scents, scenery, and music. The spa is incredible clean. The table was warmed to make the massage more comfortable. They used numerous hot towels and essential oils throughout the massage. My masseuse was Amanda. She saw that I signed up for a deep tissue massage and she made sure I knew what I signed up for lol. It was an intense massage for sure but it was oh so worth it. I already feel so much better. I also did an add on... The scalp massage. Don't miss out...it was so worth it. Best way to explain it...Tingle inspiring for sure. I came here because my normal masseuse cancelled last minute. The W spa was able to get me in next day and I called at 7pm. Yesterday the front desk receptionist did not know the answer to my question. She went into the back, found the solution and presented me with the correct answer. I went to get a massage. I booked at 90 minute massage and only received 60 minutes. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager has refused to call me back. Front desk did not apologize nor try to make me (the customer) happy. I had a gift card and they overcharged me on this. They made me pay PRIOR to my appointment instead of after the service was completed. I have MS and massages help my joints. Feel very upset how I am being treated there. read more

My sister and I went for our first ever facials on Wednesday to The W. Being "newbies" and not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised! We both got the 60 minute "luxury" facial at $95 (a little expensive plus you have to add a cash tip, but worth it!) done by Brittany and MaryKate. All the products are organic and you definitely get what you pay for. They take the time to ask you what you want out of the facial, relaxation/ pigment problems/ acne etc. you fill out some paper work and they customize the facial to your skin. Again I don't know if this is typical, forgive me! Anyways.....My skin legit felt like butter after and I felt like a puddle of mush from being so relaxed! I wasn't super impressed with the outside presentation and the sign could use some work ( I missed the entrance and had to turn around). I was also told my skin was dry and I need to moisturize more, so they showed me some products that might work. The same ones used on me during the facial, but at $78 For an itty bitty bottle I had to decline! Overall it was a great experience staff was friendly and welcoming. The W spa is such a gem. Though it is conveniently located on roll road in Clarence (close to Williamsville and East Amherst) once you walk through the door you feel like you have been transported to a hip oasis in the middle of suburbia. I had an appointment for an eyebrow waxing and my experience was so much more than I had hoped it would be. Andrea is a true artist! She not only gave me the best shape I've had in my life she also coached me on how to properly grow in my brows and apply makeup to make them look fuller until they grow in. Andrea was so knowledgable and sweet. I felt really comfortable with her. The spa was pristine: clean and decorated nicely. An unexpected bonus were the accessories and products for sale in the waiting/lounge area. Cute scarves, necklaces, and bags to browse as you wait for your appointment. I bought the brow pomade and powder that Andrea used simply because she made them look so good. Pricing is a little higher than you might expect to pay for a brow waxing but trust me when I say it's totally worth it! I live in the LA area now but will be trusting the w spa with my brows when I come back in town for my wedding in June :) read more

First let me say that Mahreen is amazing!! Unfortunately that's where it ends. A little while back I in person scheduled an appointment, went In and it wasn't on there books. Understood things happened. Then I scheduled a full eye lash filled and they only scheduled me for mini. Now again in person this past Wednesday night I scheduled another appointment for today at 1:30. Go in and it's not on the books with them again. The receptionist even called me a few minutes after I left Wednesday Night because by mistake she told me 1:45 and the appointment was for 1:30. It gets even better. Today appointment was already paid for. Not a gift card I paid Wednesday Night with my credit card. They won't credit me back. Andrea the owner says " we are human ". This place deserves 5/5 stars. The atmosphere is beyond relaxing and I loved the "quiet room" with snacks and water, where you got to relax before and after your service. One of the workers was even coming through to see if they could take an order of tea for you. My esthetician was knowledgeable and explained just enough to me, while allowing me to relax, and my pedicure lasted weeks. Had my brows waxed by Christina today. She did a great job and even filled in the ends (my brows are blond on the ends) with brow powder, which I've never attempted to do in the past. I was afraid if I filled in my brows I'd look like Uncle Leo when he drew on his brows after they were singed off and he was smooth as a seal... Remember that Seinfeld episode?! Then his doctor thought he was angry?? HAHAHA! Anyway, I digress... My filled in brows didn't look angry like Leo's. They looked beautiful. Christina's mad waxing skillz opened up my whole face and made me look even more gorgeous than normal (we're supposed to love ourselves, right??). This is truly a 5 star spa! I have been a loyal customer since the w spa opened, it has been so nice to see the beautiful remodel and expansion. The spa is so tranquil and luxurious! This is the only place I will trust to even come near my brows. I had done a lot of damage in the 90s to my brows and Andrea and Mahreen have coached them back to a beautiful state. I have had lash lifts done at other salons but absolutely none even come close to Mahreen's attention to detail. Not only would I never go anywhere else for eyebrow waxing, I also would go nowhere else for lash lifts. I am getting married in August and just had a bridal makeup trial run with Veronica, she made look like a star. Andrea, the owner with all the talents and skills, will be styling my hair. I won a gift card in a basket raffle this spring and finally had a chance to use it on Saturday. I tried to make an appointment online earlier in the week, but because I had never been there before I ended up having to call in and make an appointment. Fine, not really a big deal. I made a 9:00 am new brow appointment with Schylar. I arrived a few minutes early, but was seen almost immediately. The reception area was very comfortable and clean. I don't regularly wax my eyebrows, but I have a few times after a hair or nail appointment. It was definitely the most spa-like atmosphere, very relaxing. Schylar was very nice and personable. She let me add on a service and did it all in less than the 30 minutes a new brow is supposed to take. I don't have particularly sensitive skin so I didn't expect any problems, but my skin was perfectly fine afterwards. No irritation, minimal redness. I kind of liked the smell of the wax, reminded me of honey? Anyway, I really liked it here. I suppose the price was a little steep, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. (New brow wax $22, Touch up $17) Also good to note they take credit cards, but you can't pay gratuity with a card. I don't know that I'll ever be a regular wax consumer, but if I wanted something done I'd come back. read more

Just received a luxury facial from Julie at the Waxing Studio. She did a great job, and the products she used were amazing. The studio uses organic products, which not only are safe but they smell amazing. She even gave me a sample lotion to use! I made an appointment to have my eyebrows done because I received a coupon from them for $2.00 off because I hadn't been there for a while. The service was good. However, when I went to pay I was told I would be charged $2.00 extra because I hadn't been there for a while. So I get a coupon for $2.00 because I hadn't been there for a while but then they charge me $2.00 extra because I haven't been there for a while. The girl that did my eyebrows took about 10 minutes to clean up my brows. The service cost $20.00 plus tip. Summary: Regular cost for eyebrow clean up =$20.00 plus $2.00 tip + $2.00 penalty for not coming in sooner minus $2.00 discount = $22.00. Time to find a new place. read more
