Everything is way over priced. I priced 2 supplements. Then checked at Down to Earth market. The vitamin shoppe was $5 plus MORE than the Down to Earth prices. I couldn't believe my ears today. All 4 workers were hanging around the cash registers at Ala Moana Vitamin Shoppe and l actually asked where all the customers were. I trying to figure it out after I started doing my purchase I gave them my new number took about 10 minutes for me to keep repeating my number and my new number then I mentioned maybe I should have just left my number the same at the store, it seems like it took kind of a long time and then number 855 the new local young lady said "maybe I'm hanging around the wrong group". It's right then I look back and I say to myself I should have just left the store but instead I tried to purchase four items for $121 and my purchase wasn't going through and I was going over and over with my PIN. Can you guys address this? There was no one in the store except for a security guard but after he left everybody started coming around the cash register. Being a GNC person for years I was skeptical about this store got a long time. I signed up for their emails which I would receive weekly and finally started to compare products and prices. My first purchase from this store was a ISO100 Protein Powder for post workouts, it was the cheapest I ever saw for this particular supplement. That what made me really take a good look at The Vitamin Shoppe's other products. The kicker was that while looking Online I saw that they had a sale, buy one and get 50% if the 2nd one. That's not the end of the deal, I could apply an additional discount code to take more off the purchase which made my purchase unbelievably cheap! You can only do this ONLINE as the store will not honor the a discount code if it's on sale. Also you can have it shipped or pick up your order at the store, they will send you an confirmation email and an additional email with your order ready for pick up. A ID is required for in store pick up. I love how clean, organized and the large variety of products they offer. Also the well labeled shelves to make searching for items easy. The staff I encountered was very helpful and knowledgeable. Like any business this might not apply to every visit, everyone might not have the same experience, hopefully not. I came by this afternoon to pick up an order that I had placed online. Currently there is a promotion on selective items of 20% off online but it could also be shipped or picked up in a store near you. It didn't take long for my order to be ready and so I did the method of curbside pick up in which calling them was so convenient so that they could bring the items that I have purchased toward my car. And if you are ordering and picking up an item do the curbside method, they encourage you to pull over where the trolley is usually parked which is between Starbucks and AT&T and voila! Your order is complete. I just love the convenience of curbside pick up that way it saves me time to run other errands. I kind a wish I had looked in the vitamin shop but of course that will be next time. The person who I spoke to on the phone with this morning was very friendly and very knowledgeable about my order and making sure that they prepare it as soon as possible so that I could pick it up right away. Word of advice, if you are picking up any supplements I will definitely order it online and pick up in store or ship at your house, whatever your preference is...But pick up is best if you don't want to wait for the item 3 to 5 business days to ship + you will only qualify for free shipping on orders over $50. The products i go there to get are always out of stock and they take forever to restock their shelves. But that's not why thus specific store gets only 1 star. I can currently count on 2 fingers the decent/helpful/pleasant employees they have. Besides that, the rest of the employees don't no sh*t about sh*t, aggressively rude/obnoxious/annoying, sassy/grouchy, dense, or all the above. I actually decided to take time and effort outta my busy life to bring this up to attention because today I literally did the 180. I walked within 20 ft of the store and did the 180 because I'm so turned off by my experiences everytime I go to that store. I see a certain employee(s) I cringe. Just thinking about him/her/them makes me roll my eyes/gag/etc. And from wat I was told who the "boss" is was the one who tried to get the only decent employee at the time fired. Online shopping is too convenient, especially during those lockdowns we experienced last spring and late summer of 2020. This time I felt like going in person, it's nice to interact with people instead of online shopping lol. Vitamin shoppe use to be located on Kapiolani Blvd downstairs of Nordstrom, that use to be easier to get to, expecially because it was a block away from 24 Hour Fitness. But they've relocated in the Ala Moana Center which is still convenient, but the ease of parking is a bit challenging now that it's street level next to so many other stores, regardless, I continue to be a loyal customer over thier competitors. I've ran out of preworkout and luckily today was the last day to use thier 25% off coupon. Found what I needed and by surprise the sales associate who I've never seen before, she asked me a few more questions than the other regular staff, talk about going the extra mile. For example, would I like to use my rewards today or stack them on future visit, had she not asked me today, I wouldn't have known I had a reward to use! This place gets 4 stars for being bold enough to go into a location that fronts a major street, but has no significant foot traffic. I hope they generate tons of business, because the convenience factor for ME is HUGE! When I was treating people to quit smoking, my office was right across the street from Shokudo in the big dental office on the ground floor. After an hour of intense laser treatments and coaching, I would walk them right across the street to buy their vitamin regimen. Now I visit the place at least once a month to grab my monthly protein, amino, fish oils, and glucosamine stash. I have also recently been turned on to a pre-workout supplement that gives me intense focus and energy. PM me if you want info. The service is always generally good there. The staff is really knowledgable about the different sports supplements and vitamins. You can park upstairs in the Nordstrom parking lot and walk your "healthy-booty body" right on in to get a dose of the good stuff." I placed an online order, couldn't pick the item up in time but called the store to see if they could put it on hold for a few extra days. The worker said they would, no problem. I went to pick up the item(s) 2 days later and the employee flat out said "whoever you spoke to, lied." My items were put back, they said 'no' to the price I got online through their own site (and the item was way more expensive to purchase in store.) It was a very annoying situation. Vitamin shoppe is one of my favorite places to shop for sports supplements and general health supplements. I'm a little biased, I actually worked at this store about 7 years ago before moving on to my current career. I still shop at this store even tho they have entirely different workers from when I worked there and I have no connection. They have a vast selection of different supplements/brands and their prices are lower from what I've seen at gnc or other stores. My favorite thing about going into the vitamin shoppe is their approach to customer service. The workers generally greet you upon entering the store and leave it at that. They don't follow or hover around you while your browsing or use pressure tactics to sell certain supplements. If you ask them or look confused they are more than happy to help you find what you are looking for. They have a free card membership that gives you kickbacks at the end of the year based on how much points you accumulated through the prior year. I actually had over a $100 coupon which I used to buy more supplements. Great store and great place to get high quality supplements. read more

On a whim, I came here in hopes of finding a bottle of organic unrefined coconut oil. I knew little of this store, and never seemed to notice it.... it's right outside the mall, and next to a bunch of restaurants I've been to. I wanted to give oil pulling a try, after hearing about it through some friends. They told me that Whole Foods should carry the oil I needed, but that was so very inconvenient for me. I am not going all the way to Kahala Mall for this special item. Prior to the Vitamin Shoppe, I had visited Vim N Vigor, which is another health and supplement store in Ala Moana. I had found coconut oil in there, but the price was a little high for me, due to the larger size of the bottle.. which I didn't really intend on getting. I was looking for a smaller bottle and a specific brand as well.... so I left Vim N Vigor empty handed. Somewhat disappointed and exhausted, I came here and was helped immediately. Whoever assisted me was very knowledgeable of the products. I managed to find the EXACT brand and size of organic unrefined coconut oil I wanted. I was so excited to go home and try it out that at the mention of signing up for a membership card, I declined, thinking that the process would take too long haha. I'll get one the next time I come back, cause I'm pretty sure I will once I've used up the bottle of coconut oil. I didn't really get the chance to browse around in detail, but this store was filled with a variety of health products. I really like this location at Ala Moana. The sales associates are really helpful and knowledgeable and have turned me on to two great products that have now become daily supplements in our household. The first is a great kids' multivitamin called Greens Today that is made of whole foods and packs some major superfoods into one little chewable tablet. The associates here also helped me to find a great calcium supplement for myself, called Adora (in MILK chocolate). I hate taking calcium horse pills or chewing that awful tasting viactive, but this calcium chocolate disc is the solution to awful calcium supplements. As The King of Vita, I felt the need to write a post. Pros: Good selection of merchandise right next to Ala Moana. Stafff is typically friendly and will remember your name if you spend too much here. It's a bad thing really... Cons: Sales for prime products are far and few. The store doesn't open until 9:30, so you early folks are out of luck. Post work out stop? Spend too much and they start sending you certificates you can redeem at the end of the year. Overall a great place with good service and products. read more

The reason I'm taking off 2 stars is because they're not always stocked with the whole variety (be it flavors, or doses, etc.) I was looking for a specific diuretic that they didn't have, and I was looking for a specific size of protein powder which they didn't have. I bought a pre-workout performing in Hance meant supplement and was told but the cashier that as long as it is in good condition by the expiry shouldn't date they would replace it well I brought in my supplement that I bought because it was not even close to being expired but the vitamin shop refuse to give me a new one or refund me the money that I spent. I can't understand how they could have no guarantee for an expiration date of an item that they sell so I will be going back to GNC where they back up all their products. read more

I placed one for pick-up at their new Ala Moana Shopping Center location and while the order was confirmed online, I didn't receive a store pick up confirmation . I called online customer service and despite having my credit card charged and the email, they said they had no record and to call the store. THIS IS MY SHOPPE. The Vitamin Shoppe is so good to its loyal customers, and I think that its much more service and health focused than its competitor, GNC. GNC overwhelms you right when you walk in with their commission driven sales staff, while the Vitamin Shoppe is always just politely waiting to answer your questions. I go here almost every week. They have great promotions, good TwoFer deals, and the staff all seem to love their jobs. Once I walked in and everyone (the staff) was doing calisthenics in a circle. Like morning stretches. Have you ever seen a retail store where they did team exercises together? It was adorable and they invited me to join in. They are also very non-judgey. Sometimes, when asking about health products or supplements, it can get a little awkward. The Vitamin Shoppe seems to encourage the sales team to be neutral and factual about all of their products, without trying to overly influence your purchase. They also keep their juices, waters, and sports drinks COLD which is great when you are on your way to the gym. No one else does that! I love Vitamin Shoppe. read more

I go to this VS because it's convenient. My first choice would be the one in Aiea. I've been here several times to buy specific items. My review is based on my store experience, not the items or the availability, because VS has a lot to choose from. I was there 2 weeks ago, in a rush with my sunglasses on. And out rushed a female worker from the back somewhere, yelling "Hello...!" I was taken aback and to be honest, the first thing that popped in my head was: I bet she thinks I'm a shop lifter! Geez, really? And to test my now self-made social profiling shopping experience, I was observing how she glanced over at me while speaking with another employee. Fine. Whatever. I'm not there for you anyway. So I walked out. Didn't buy anything. Most recently, I was there and the same helpful employee directed me where to find what I was looking for. I brought my items to the counter to purchase and there were 3 employees chatting away. The only female employee was busy flirting with her 2 male coworkers, so she didn't bother to greet or acknowledge me. OK. Next. I had a discount that was received via email so I pulled it up on my phone. The scanner could easily reach me but this chick took my phone from my hand (you don't ever take anything from a customer unless they hand it to you. If you need to take the phone because you're an idiot and can't pick up your scanner, then you should ask first) and I had my earphones on-and stretched it so the earbuds popped off my ears. "Oh, I didn't know it was attached to your head..." What a stupid pos. It was a series of things gone bad in those hellacious few minutes but I really wanted to reach across and pull her fake eyelashes off her eyes because I think they were impeding her vision.
