Stopped by at this location on Monday 5/1 around 4:30ish. I understand theft is a huge issue, however there are ways to make sure you're doing your job while also making the customer feel comfortable. There was one female worker and the rest male. She made it extremely obvious that she was watching me just by where she was standing... And we made eye-contact. It took me maybe a minute just to grab what I needed to, and then walk up to the register. Tell me how she then decided to stand next to me and watch me pay for my ONE item with the other employee behind the register. Completely unnecessary to be doing all of that. The male who checked me out was very sweet and I reciprocated. She still stood there and stared... what more are you trying to look for while I'm putting my card into the machine? read more

I came by here while on a visit in this area. We came in about 7:30-ish after we had dinner. The place itself is very clean, well organized and we were greeted at the door by a nice friendly woman. I wanted to pick up a couple of Nature's Way items for someone and they had the item in stock. The prices were very good...about what I pay for in Atlanta, GA. Sometimes when I walk into a vitamin shoppe I'm intimidated by the amount of options & the silence among employees. This was NOT the case with this location. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the doors. I was also offered help for locating the supplements I was thinking about purchasing. An associate named Nicky helped teach me a bit about what supplement would help me reach my goals, and which I should avoid. I was very happy with my experience here, and will make a point to revisit this location instead of my "local" one. read more

GREAT SHOP, DISASTROUS EMPLOYEE - This is my go-to store for supplements in Astoria. However, staff member by the name of ASIF has REPEATEDLY, and with an attitude, demonstrated a reckless disregard for customers. In my years going to the store he's messed up personal data from my store account, been rude and dismissive and charged my card incorrectly. All done in a defiant way. I been introduced to vitamins as a teen so there would be no surprise now grown up I'd shop at a store like The Vitamin Shoppe. Of course, this is not the first time I've been in here but I'll provide my opinion in that it is a very organized shop. Depending on what someone is looking for the item is likely sitting on the proper categorized area on the shelves. And when I asked specifically for what I was looking for, more than once the staff are on point and know where it is. There is no pressure in buying, just browse what might you find nutritionally beneficial, the staff will ask if you need help and are quite knowledgeable but none of the hovering or pestering you. I like that I can just browse freely while already knowing what I want. Sigmund Freud's "ID" in me thinks it's Superman; in order to back that up I need vitamins and other drugs/chemicals that branches out beyond just vitamins from the super conglomerate chemical/drug companies. It fine that everyone including myself are in here looking for powdered chemicals or pills from laboratories to pay the high salary of the lab geeks Yes you can find a wide variety of different compounds and vitamins in the Vitamin Shoppe, they stock everything from sustaining your body, sleepy time, to energy boost, to horny goat weed, protein to get buff, stuff I never even heard of + not know it's purpose and of course -one of- my purposes to be in there: organic raw honey. And the price range is great, depending on the brand, specifically The Vitamin Shoppe's own personal brand, which is cheaper than the marketed name brands. 20%, 30%, 50%, hey get your fix on. Wait, so I can walk into a vitamin/medicine store and NOT get harassed by staff pouncing on me for commission dollars?! Awesome. Most Vitamin Shoppes I've ever been to have provided experiences eons better than their competition *lookin' at you GNC* and this location is no different. I came here on Friday wanting to surprise my boy with some joint/vitamin pills cuz I'm like, the best girlfriend in the world and shizz O:). I walked in frustrated with my experience at the GNC across the street and honestly, wasn't expecting this Vitamin Shoppe to be much different but at this point didn't want to spend any money at GNC. The first woman who I approached here was friendly enough, she brought me to the tart cherry/black cherry section - but when I asked her if they carried anything in tablet form and showed her a product on their mobile site that seemed good she said they didn't...despite the tablet bottles staring us right in the face next to the liquid concentrate bottles...mmmkay. I'm giving them 4 stars for the guy who assisted me shortly thereafter for researching the medicinal differences between sweet, black and tart cherries, checking to see if there was anything worth looking at in the homeopathic medicine shelf and for granting me the online price which was an $8 difference from the shelf retail price. He may not have been the most dynamic salesperson, but he was HELPFUL and if he didn't know something he didn't make something up he walked on over to his computer and looked it up using Vitamin Shoppe's digital database. 4 stars for helping me get what I was looking for, not trying to oversell me (as if that would work), matching their online sale-price and for getting me in and out of he store quickly - fantastic customer service! :D read more

I wrote a great review 2 years ago about this place. In the last year it has gone from fantastic to terrible. All of the old helpful staff have been replaced by old surly completely unhelpful staff. They cannot be bothered coming out from behind the counter to help. I don't even bother going here anymore and I regularly spent hundreds of dollars each time!! Worst customer service ever! I come here all the time and the sales person here especially the lady is rude, never said hi, never said thank you and doesn't even ask you if you have any questions, doesn't even look at you at the register and when you ask questions they don't know anything about their products! I'd rather take a train and go to Flatiron to go to other locations or go to GNC even they are a bit pricey at least they are all friendly! Great variety and quality products. Watch out for the sale items. They usually have some samples on display-- but not as many as GNC! Staff is generally friendly but there is one man who is always very creepy. I love going to get their Quest Bars after a good workout. Normally great service. Martha is the best but since change in management service has gone down. Have been in 2 times the last week and a bit and not great. Martha helped me like she always does but today she wasn't working. I was greeted from behind the counter and THAT WAS IT. The guy to busy on the computer and the girl was laying all over the counter. NO one came out to help me and I was THE ONLY PERSON IN THE STORE. Dropped the ball big time today.
