As I was checking out he advised me that since was buying two products that I get a third one for half off. Such a great deal as I was able to get a container of protein at half the price. This is THE only place I go to for supplements. It has become my go to place in Astoria. The staff is super knowledgeable and trustworthy. They listen to your concerns and give you products that are going to actually help you achieve your goals. They don't try to just sell you and I appreciate that. The store is super organized, clean and stocked with a lot of different options -even clean/vegan proteins which is a nice choice to have. The prices are highly competitive and they usually have some type of promotion or discount that you can take advantage of, not to mention they price match their competition. I went here price exploring. It has a high price point for many products, but also some cheaper products as well. I was trying to find something comparable to a product I've seen online and this guy was trying to explain to me how bigger and larger companies that they carry in this store are better and therefore I should buy those products. Skip the two GNCs further on Steinway and come here. The staff and clientele definitely lean towards the bodybuilding crowd but that doesn't mean they're unfriendly, it does mean they're knowledgeable about the products they stock. My husband spent 96 dollars on two items in here. When he tried to return a beta-alaine because it gave him an itchy rash, he was asked if the bottle was opened. He was refused a refund and refused a store credit. We will never shop here again. Even the "Vitamin Shoppe" shop on corner of 71 Continental and Queens Blvd gives you a full refund with receipt if a product doesn't work well. Horrible crappy place! I've had good experiences in the past and I'm a frequent customer but what I went through with this shop has made me to make an account here and write a review on yelp for the first time ever. I asked if they had CNP Propeptide in the store and they gave me the one that was on display on the counter which was the only one they had and seemed like they desperately wanted to get rid of it. Besides it looking dirty and worn out I didn't mind it. I opened it up at my house and the seal was open half way!! The seal had a clear crease in it clearly indicating that it's been open and used before. I went the next day to return it and one of their employees Matt his name was there. On their return policy it states that if the supplement has been tampered or opened and wasn't visible at the time of purchase I can return it for a full refund. Matt told me that he can't accept it because it's been tampered and I told him that it was tampered and I only noticed it later on when I opened it at my house. I then showed it in the receipt where it states about tampered supplements being purchased but not visible at the time. He told me to come again the next day where his manager would be there. I agreed and went the next day. It was three men one of them must've been the manager. All three of them were trying to convince me that sometimes the seal opens up when you open the cap. When I repeatedly told them that I opened it and it was open halfway. They still had me on trying to believe that I ripped open the lead halfway open as I was trying to open the cap which is ridiculous. You lost another loyal customer and by the looks of your ratings and your behavior towards customers this store won't take too long to close down. Be weary and always check your supplements are sealed shut before you it's too late. read more
