A small yet nice and well kept place. Came around here after my time in the gym for a post workout smoothie and was craving something chocolate. Their answer to that was the Thicker than a Snicker shake mixed with chocolate whey and banana, giving a nice blend of flavors which tasted pretty decent. Just ordered two juices and a bowl. The bowl potion was small, and hardly any acai inside. Was way too runny not thick like it should've been. Missing toppings and way too much granola. I'm sure if I would've got it in person maybe it would've been different. But poor quality and not worth it. The juices were just okay. Didn't taste very good or like they were fresh ingredients. Probably wouldn't order from here again. UPDATE: I had to dump out the carrot juice because it of a food safety issue. The juice I ordered was supposed to be orange ginger and carrot only. There were huge chunks of pulp and green particles inside. I make my own juice at home at times with an omega juicer. You must clean the screen properly between uses. You guys should be checking the juices before sending them, this is completely unacceptable. The juice could have pieces of kale or spinach floating around, of which is not supposed to be in there, and my husband is extremely allergic to those types of greens. Correction. 1 Very Berry açaí bowl please!!! My bowl had blueberry, strawberry, Banana and granola. I added honey because I feel like it makes the bowl better every time it was a good tasting bowl the ingredients were fresh and cut well. This place is nice and cozy with a small seating area if you would like to sit in. They offer a number of different items from smoothies, juices and much more. They have a bunch of healthy snack options but the ones that caught my eye were the vegan snacks on the counter. They had muffins, cookies, bars and more I couldn't help to but to grab a few of these. The carrot walnut muffin was so good soft and filled with some deliciousness glad I brought 2. I also got the red velvet bunt it looked so good but when we (my daughter and I) actually ate it it was so DRY. I had my go-to Very Berry bowl today and ended up being a bit too eager and spilt it all over my car! I had the remnants of the bowl and it still absolutely knocked my socks off! This review has been pending for a couple of months for me as I know they were working on a new staff to fix their ordering and pickup issues. Now this place has become our #1 go to spot after a grueling workout at Planet Fitness down the block. We place our orders on seamless to make sure they're ready for us. Stay away from this place! I went in thinking I'd grab a quick Açaí bowl, but when I got to the register, the price they charged didn't match the menu. When I pointed it out, they just shrugged and acted like it was normal for customers to pay more than what's listed. Super sketchy. If you're going to charge higher prices, at least update your menu or be upfront about it. I won't be coming back until they figure out how to treat their customers fairly. So I love how close I live to Fitrition, I stop by often to grab the Very Berry Acai bowl and add honey to it- it's always delicious. Plenty of fruit, especially compared to other places I've gone for bowls. It's always amazing, and every time the food and experience has been consistent. But today I did that really annoying thing customers sometimes do, and I asked the employee to try to recreate a shake that I love from another juice place. She could have been so annoyed with me, but was instead super kind and patient as we went thru the ingredients and picked out substitutions for the few items they didn't have. She even let me sample the shake before she poured the whole thing into the cup to make sure I liked it, and asked if I wanted her to add anything else. It was SO good. The only problem is now I'm gonna feel like a douche every time I go in since I'm probably going to keep asking for the same "secret recipe" shake. This storefront has been so many things in the past and it is interesting to see what genre this business owner created for its customers. Fitrition is one of those places that look like it will be a fixture on Steinway Street for a long while. It is small, but clean and the atmosphere is very appealing. I can't describe what the vibe was exactly, but it was a super chill place. If the store is empty, there is seating in the window space that makes for a great cozy, yet casual afternoon date/outing with a friend. There is even art on the wall that is available for purchase which is a perfect touch to offer guests. I ordered the Queens Bowl and I was very impressed by the presentation and how fresh the ingredients were. Even the aesthetic of the several options offered was very pleasing to the eye and improved the ordering experience. If I am ever in the area, I would come back here if I am ever in the mood for an açaí bowl. Being back in NYC , I just can't avoid the "on the go" attitude. "Thicker than a Snicker" ...it wasn't the name per se that got me to order but the way she said it with a slight smirk , expecting I reacted the same...I did But I didn't want basic peanut butter or the dairy, there had to be an alternative. Say no more, my fair lady offered , "we can switch the PB for some almond butter and you can get oatmilk instead of the other dairy". I was pretty excited for my "Thicker tha...you got it. Really cute healthy protein shake shop on Steinway! They have a bunch of options with cute names for shakes and drinks. They also have some baked goods. There's no calories listed for each item on the menu which was a slight drawback for me. They make each drink right when you order so it can take maybe 10 min to get your drink. I ordered the peaches and cream shake. It tasted pretty good although not as good as a real milkshake LOL. There was a strong cinnamon flavor that got in the way of the peach/vanilla flavor. My server probably just put too much. This shake replaced a meal for me (not sure if that's recommended though) and it was very filling. I was stuffed halfway through! read more

Today (6/25/22), I ordered a simple banana-strawberry smoothie. It it had no taste, it tasted like straight ice which was so weird because it's a hard thing to get wrong. While I'm a pretty easy pleaser with food, I could have blended ice at home instead if paying $8. I told the girl working there that it had no taste. She looked at me with distain and disgust, grabbed my drink and threw it in the trash forcefully with out saying a word. I waited. I didn't even know if she was making another, until the other guy working there brought me out another. This one tasted faintly of banana and nothing else. So strange. I cannot tolerate a bad attitude as any person with a brain would have complained if they were given ice.
