Stumbled upon this cozy little shop today and oh. Em. GEE!!! The owners are local and the wife…read moreowner's mama (that makes sense, right?) was working. She could not have been more kind and warm; I'm so sad I didn't get her and the owners' names (but her daughter also owns the jewelry store across the street!!). Olive & Slate is a must-shop. Instantly the scent of one of their candles hits your senses and you're drawn in. They sell these awesome robot pieces made of metal and tin and are painted and out together by locals. They also sell flour towels with amazing quips on them (see pics below - they're only $7!!), and Mud Pie products that you canNOT love without. You gotta go visit. BRING YOUR MONEY! Buyer's remorse is NOT a factor here!

There are numerous items (like coffee mugs) styled with clever sayings. There are candles and pots, note pads, and ceramics. Near the entrance is a 3' long "Woodie" station wagon car filled with products. I've never seen anything like it! The mix is eclectic, but somehow the owner has a good sense of style and taste to make it look like it goes together. She was glad to assist if I had anything in particular that I was looking for too! Just another cool shop to stop by when downtown in Muncie! Review #2620

I also saw some signs, not currently in use. that mention reopen in the Spring. The big news is they are shutting it down and will be relocating. Will be open a few more weeks for 2022 and plan to reopen elsewhere next Spring. The business owners live here and are selling the property. So my experience was not the full effect this establishment once had, but nonetheless wow! All used/recycled home and garden decor, and TONS of clothing. Good stuff, and they are taking big discounts now to reduce the inventory. They also had some mums for only four bucks a pop so I grabbed one along with a belt and two scarves. The owner was super friendly on showing me around and filling me in on their plans. I notified Yelp the (502) number currently shown is no longer valid- if you look at my pictures there are two different local numbers shown. So if you were planning to check this shop out, delay no longer - but call first for open times and status. Glad I had the chance to get over here when I did.

We have unique items in our home from the store and have found great gifts there. If you are traveling on US40 or on 70, it is worth the stop at this one of a kind store! The owner is just phenomenal. The warm and helpful atmosphere of the store is everything right about Hoosier hospitality and small town life. Centerville is so lucky to have this local shop as apart of their community!
