This historic home rests in an ideal downtown location. A great setup for an adult weekend, but also fun for a family get away!

I stayed there this past saturday night, checking in at eleven pm. It was a total disaster to say…read morethe least. To start, we got in a room and the tv did not work. I called down the room service and she tells me that she's going to send someone up, twenty minutes later I called down... and she says, come on down, we're just going to change your room. I get all the way down there, just to move 2 rooms down after packing everything up and going down eleven floors, instead of them bringing ME up a new card for a new room. That is poor customer service. Let me be clear. They were not busy. I woke up at nine a m with a paper under my door. I received a charge of $585!!!!! Now let me just tell you, i went in my room and went right to sleep, because I was exhausted for my day of travel. This letter told me that I had been smoking in the room and charged me this amount. I immediately called down a customer service and was told that they would take it off when the manager came in at eleven o'clock. I was somewhat relieved at this, so I went on with my morning and got ready and went down and waited. The manager assured me that they would not charge my card and that I had not been charged yet. They went ahead and charged my card for the room. I checked my card and I had only been charged for the room and a $50 charge for a deposit. I left and went on with my day with a receipt, feeling confident that the manager had done her job. A couple hours later, I looked at my bank account, and I saw that I was charged after all . $585!!!!!! More . 4 hours later! I don't know if she thought I wouldn't see it or what! I called and she swore to me that I was in charge. So I sent her a snapshot and called her a liar. So then she told me that it would be removed and it would take 5 to 10 days! Can you believe that? They charge my card for something.I did not do five hundred and eighty five dollars and then tell me, it's going to take five to ten days to remove it! To top it off yesterday, i opened my bank account to see another $530 charge! This hotel has charged me $125 for a room, $54 for deposit and $530 that now they are SWEARING they have not charged me and calling ME A LIAR!!!! Let me be VERY CLEAR.... LET ME BE VERY CLEAR THEY HAVE CHARGED ME $1,294 !!!!!!! Seriously!!!!! THIS HOTEL HAS COST ME $300 IN OVERDRAFT NOW. I filed with my bank so they have put a stop to it. I want everyone to know how bad they are!!!!!!

I normally don't look view on Marriott because I'm pretty consistent wherever I travel. However,…read moreyou might wanna think twice before booking this location. There's a lot of construction going on in the area so a lot of remodeling going on in and out of the hotel. Additionally, I had researched a king room, but they said there was a block of rooms that mysteriously showed up taking away my room and me and my wife had to settle for a double. I settled for some points to makeup for the "error". I'm also used to have a doorman at major city hotels of which there was none and so we had to rely on the kindness of the valet to get us a cart and helpunload all of our bags. On a plus side, the rooms were clean all the amenities worked. The bathroom set up was a little odd, however with the toilet right under and adjacthe sink so I can't say I've seen that one before. Also some standing water in the shower when in use. However, I did sleep very well. The blackout curtains were excellent then AC wasn't annoying making tons of noise. Finally, the presidential breakfast or whatever you call it area was nice as a sharply dressed, older gentleman, assisting patrons and helping keep the area clean. And also the hotel gym was pretty good with plenty of space and decent equipment. Overall, I wont book here again, but it's not a bad hotel just a little below the normal Marriott standard I'm used too.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of downtown Indy. Room was clean and it was quiet. They had a group in…read morethe bar and it was very crowded. They did not have enough staff to accommodate the crowd. However, my turkey burger was great! My room was set to 65 degrees and it was a little chilly. So I changed the temp only to find out that the heating system has been turned off because it's Spring. Well, I'm from Michigan and Indy is not that far. So while it may be 89 degrees during the day, I know that it could SNOW as well. They were kind enough to bring me a heater, and that made the room better. Before checking out of the hotel, I went to the Fat Rooster which is what the hotel uses for Room Service. I wanted to pick up the food and I didn't see espresso on the menu. I went down for an egg sandwich which was $17; But they had a buffet for $21 so I got that instead. While I waited for my omelette, I toasted some bread. Well I went to add butter, and the bread was moldy! I told the lady who was on omelettes and she apologized profusely. She went and told the guy in the back. Why did the guy start arguing with her that he doesn't critique her. I mean SIR! You have ONE JOB and you're getting upset?? Anywho that kinda spoiled my appetite. All in all not a bad place to stay, but I won't eat at the Fat Rooster ever again.

This is a beautiful hotel aesthetic wise, but there were some things that did NOT sit too well with…read moreme. First off were the elevators. I don't know what company built them, or if they are just old, but no one and I mean NO ONE should EVER have to wait 10-15 minutes (not exaggerating at all!) for a freaking elevator! The fact that there were at least five elevators and they were ALL SLOW, pissed me off the entire weekend! Secondly, the bed in my room was terrible! The pillows were comfy, but the bed itself was uncomfortable. I had to take a Tylenol pm just to fall asleep, otherwise I would still be up! It wasn't soft at all, and usually hotels have memory foam mattress toppers.....this one didn't. And what's up with not having toothpaste in the bathroom? Now normally I bring my own, but I forgot to bring some so I assumed I could get some from the hotel...negative! So I had to leave out to get some......which leaves me to my third point.....the parking!!!! As much as it costs to stay here parking should be VALIDATED! I literally spent $46 x3 while parking in that garage, and $15 x2 the couple of times I had to leave out and come back. The method in how you pay, and how to get in and out of the garage was time consuming. You had to dial a number to get the gate to open, then they send you a bill via text. I spent more money on parking this weekend than I spent on anything else! I gave this property three stars because of how pretty it is on the inside, but if the aesthetics were not great, I would probably give less stars..... And I almost forgot.....The handle in the shower to turn the water on in the shower literally came off once I tried to turn the water on! I had to play maintenance woman to get it back on! Why it was loose in the first place I haven't the slightest clue, but an expensive hotel as the Hyatt Regency nothing should be falling off and apart like that. I would recommend this place, but proceed with caution....park on the street if it's free, otherwise have a separate account with money in it for parking.

However, the shower water pressure was good so I can't complain much. The gym was great. They have peloton bikes and an assortment of dumbbells and kettle bells. The pool area looked to be very small and full of kids. There was no hot tub sadly. The con was Alex at the front desk. He checked me in and was awfully rude and condescending. I chose not to take it personally because he was the same way towards his coworker, Francis?, and towards the guests who approached him after me. He did not show anything close to the disposition you'd want for an employee in hospitality.

When we arrived, we were surprised to see it is right across the street from Gainbridge Fieldhouse! It was perfect. If you are there for the game, a lot of other perks you may want could be put aside. We arrived a few hours early and were able to valet and check in! Valet and hotel staff were very, very nice and helpful. Our room was clean. It is just a tad outdated but fine. Our room had a full kitchen, which could be nice for a longer stay. We ate downstairs at Pier 48 Fish House, which is attached to the hotel. The food was good. I had a delicious fruited mule (lychee). We were walking distance to many sites and restaurants. There is a small indoor pool that can be very crowded and loud due to the acoustics. There were a ton of kids in the pool and splashing water out and I saw a child slip and fall (glad it was not a grandparent!). The breakfast options are well-rounded. There are a lot of areas to eat inside the hotel area and outside on the patio. It was not crowded at all. Our Fever game was at noon so we were able to leave our car with valet. We borrowed the key to pack our things in the trunk. The game ended and we were well on our way by 3pm when the clock would have reset to be charged another day. The only drawback was the night noise. All during the night, you could hear traffic (like motorcycles and engines). We did have a room facing the street so maybe forego the view and face a back alley. It woke us up several times. This is a perfect spot for the game and for a family!
