Though I'm not vegan, I keep unintentionally eating vegan food here in Manchester - it's much more…read moreavailable/prominent than back in the US. I got lost looking for the restaurant after my phone died but finally found my friend at the top of the steps leading down to Earth. Service is set up like a cafeteria, and for just £7 you can pick 4 items from the line (up to 2 "mains".) I think everything in the line and dessert counter is vegan - I was struggling to find dairy/egg items in the menu. I feel like it's more palatable for them to sell themselves as a vegetarian rather than vegan restaurant. I picked up a hearty bean chili atop quinoa, braised cabbage, and a beautiful mushroom pie, in addition to a lime/lemongrass bottled drink and coffee/walnut cake. Portion sizes were huge and you feel very healthy eating the food - the bean chili could have used more seasoning, but the savory mushroom pie was divine! Creamy, savory, and textural, I was surprised at how well they veganized this classic. The cabbage was like tame sauerkraut, which cut the richness of the pie well. The cake was mildly sweet but had a wonderful bitter aftertaste, the scent of ground coffee lingering in my palate long after I finished the last bite. I had a taste of my friend's raw blueberry cheesecake and we had quite a bit of fun trying to guess what they made it out of. It was alright - I would've wanted to try the raw tiramisu, if they had it.

This place was intimate, romantic, and had great vibes and atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our…read moretime here, and the food was top notch for vegans in the UK!

We had SUCH fond memories of this place from a few years ago when we gave it a stellar 5 star…read morereview. This time it simply disappointed in almost every way. The service was OK, the food offerings just not enticing at all (we ended up with Caesar salads as the main, and stopped to buy some food at a Sainsbury's local and take it back to our hotel room. The cost of cocktails and mocktails was absurd. Mrs G got a mocktail that was totally tasteless for £9.50. I had a margarita that tasted good but the glass was 80% filled with the biggest block of ice that I have ever seen - for £14.50!!!! Advice - stick with beer or wine and don't even consider cocktails!!! The place is still attractive but the fact that it was virtually empty on a Friday evening at 7-8pm is maybe explained by all the foregoing??

We tried several different dishes like the Buttermilk-fried chicken, sourdough bread, mash potatoes, french fries, baked broccoli and Slow-cooked beef cheek. My favorite was the buttermilk fried chicken. Definitely can't go wrong with that. All of it was delish. So much flavor and good size to share with 3 people. We also got Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. So yummy! Definitely give it a shot.

These guys had an excellent and a vast selection for any beer fan! All styles and with something tasty for everyone! The Indian street food was a very interesting twist to a regular food offering at breweries. Lots of fantastic veggie options and I really loved that they have so many small (inexpensive) dishes which are perfect for sharing with your group! Have fun!

When you first arrive, the waiter will sit you down on a table and then you order by scanning a QR code or going to the bar area. Didn't make a lunch reservation in advance but was still able to get a good table. - Bundo Chaat - Probably one of the best reinvented Indian dishes I've ever had and is a MUST at Bundobust. The crispy samosa pastry mixed in with the creamy yogurt and slightly hot chili sauce is maybe one of the best dishes I've ever had. Usually I'm not a huge fan of cold food, but this was actually so unbelievably good, like eating an unhealthy salad. The potatoes and chickpeas on top were also fantastic. - Chole Saag - Not as big of a fan but still great nonethless. It's kind of exactly what you would expect: chickpea and spinach curry paired with some kind of bread. I will say that for the price, it is incredibly nice and generous that they give you the puri on the side because usually at other Indian places in London, you do need to order it as an extra. Overall, absolutely fantastic place to eat while in Manchester. Do not sleep on the Bundo Chaat at all, probably one of the best Indian foods I've ever had. Also during the weekday they have a lunch deal where's its 2 for £9 which is honestly super nice of them to do and also very filling too.

There's seating outside too which will be great in the spring! The space is quite small but the high ceiling helps. The food counter offers hot quiches in various flavours. There are also 2-3 different hot meals such as vegetable chilli and 2-3 different soups on offer on a daily-changing menu. The soups are quite large for £1.95 and served with two slices of delicious freshly baked bread. I tried the Thai Noodle Broth and it was so fresh and fragrant. There's also a salad bar offering more colourful and exotic flavours than the average canteen. There are also the usual fancy juices or you could save a few pennies and go for the infused tap water for free! It gets 5 stars as it a pretty fancy place to pop in for a cheap lunch. They are open early so you can also try their breakfast with many items less than £2.50. Spanish eggs and veggie chorizo with gluten free toast, anyone? There's also nice coffee and cake!

The atmosphere is always very relaxed and informal, unexpectedly quiet, noise is reduced to a minimum. The most suitable place to meet up with other academics. Normally I go there to get lunch when I'm too lazy to cook but still I feel like having healthy food. They usually propose a choice of three different soups of the day, some of them are very original (carrot and orange is highly recommended!) and pleasantly thick. They are served with brown or white bread and are also very cheap (~2£). Among the other products I cannot help talking about their quiches with fancy salads sides. They're a bit more expensive (slightly more than 5£) but the price is definitely worthy it. They also have cakes and fruit, and takeaway options are always available. Staff is lovely and I've never had to queue. Also Greenhouse opens very early in the morning, which is great if you want to get a nourishing and healthy breakfast before a hard work day :)
