I took my engagement ring here to be resized, and was told the best route based on my knuckle:finger size ratio was to put an expandable insert in the ring rather than resize the ring itself. I wasn't crazy about it, but they seemed to feel confident that it was the only way to get it onto my finger and not have it spin. We went to pick it up 2 weeks later and it was way too small to fit on my finger. They seemed inconvenienced that they were going to have to do more work on it, and didn't verify the size at all. We got it back another week later, and within a day of having it, it BROKE while I was taking it off. I took it to another jeweler who put it under a magnifier to see what had happened to cause the break and he told me "it's really, really not good." It had dark bubbles, holes, and was only soldered on the edges rather than all the way through. (See images) He had to hack off the entire bottom of my brand new engagement ring (sobs) and build an entirely new one from scratch. The work at the Vault cost $100, and the other jeweler told me he would charge $300 for the same work, but to be aware that "you get what you pay for." My fiancé took the ring and magnified photos back to the Vault and was given a contrite apology by the owner and a full refund, which was obviously the only possible solution. But it came after a lot of stress and the destruction of my ring. Moral of the story: the Vault may be great for purchasing new jewelry, but I don't feel they gave me or my jewelry the care it deserved. I wouldn't recommend bringing your jewelry here for repairs or resizing. read more

So much appreciation for the Vault. About 3 months ago I had accidentally smashed my ring while moving. Heartbroken and living in Las Vegas I was so afraid to take it to another jeweler. We flew into Fresno for a wedding and walked into the Vault as soon as they open. I think they saw the desperation on my face when handing them my bent ring. The friendly gentleman in the shop took my worries away and said that they would fix it. 2 hours later I got the call that it was fixed. He explained that he spent an hour fixing it himself. Although the Internet has many more options, my fiancé and I wanted to buy our wedding bands locally. We tried the usual chains in Fashion Fair. The Vault is a fancy place and looked too upscale for our tiny budget, but it's independently and locally owned, so I gave it a try. I cannot say enough about Gary, the owner, and Liz, one of the salespeople. They were beyond helpful in finding us titanium bands that matched (easy) and came in widths narrow enough for my small hands (difficult). After we didn't find anything suitable in the store, Liz took my phone number. She broke out the catalogs, went nuts with bookmarks, and called me back. I must have gone in four more times before choosing. In a place full of precious gems and luxury watches, I felt that I got first-class, personalized service in spite of my final bill: $90.00. I later brought in a sterling silver pendant to be made into a lapel pin for my fiancé's wedding tuxedo. Again, a small job, but Gary was great about having Liz call with a quote ($25) and ordering high-quality parts. The result was exactly what I wanted. Ashley was there to answer every question, she was friendly and knowledgeable. I had several pieces that needed sizing, I had rings divided, stones replaced in a bracelet, links taken from a tennis bracelet, an infinity ring made from and earring I had and my wedding ring added to and purchased new bands to match! these guys just made my day! i got my new watch in and have only today to get the band adjusted since i have such tiny wrists, otherwise i'd have to wait a week and a half before i have the time. i normally take my watch down to the sears or another shop and pay a fortune, to wait a while for it to get done by a not so friendly guy who always tells me i am uneducated on how to wear a watch and that i have no business wearing the one i bought. yes there is probably a proper way to have a watch fitted to ones wrist but at the same time i am the one wearing the watch so i prefer to be comfortable. here the gentleman assessed how many links would need to be taken out to size it down to how i like to wear it (i normally like to wear them fairly loose) and presto perfect fit. i expected to pay a fee for the service but he said no fee just have a nice day and send people his way. i have to say that i would have gladly paid a service fee but it made my day that i got my new watch, was able to get it sized down without being badgered about it and paying an arm and a leg. i definitely will be going to The Vault from now on to get my watches assessed/fixed and adjusted. read more

I brought in a wedding ring that I needed resized. The jeweler looked at the ring and gave us a price and a time frame of two weeks. The ring was to be given to my son to propose to his girlfriend friend in three weeks so we had time. Two weeks to the day they called for us to pick up the ring. When we arrive they took it out of the envelope and presented it to us. It appeared that the sales associate was ready to charge us when my wife questioned the sizing and the sales person sized the ring. It was the same size and no work was done? When the jeweler was asked why he said " he couldn't do it". It would have been nice to know this much earlier as we may have been able to take it somewhere else in time. Poor customer service. Bought my wedding ring guard here. (A guard is a ring with two bands, between which you insert your engagement ring). They said they will call me when they're done adjusting the size. I came in for pick up and the engagement ring would not fit - the two bands were too close. (No big deal, easy to adjust). The store associate, (Bill, I think), told me to hang on just a second. He disappeared into the back room and left the door open. I started hearing a little hammer bang against metal. He came back out and said he fixed the ring. It fit, I was satisfied and left. As soon as I drove out, I noticed a crack (a full fracture) on the bottom of one of the bands. Called back and they said they'll fix it for free (duh). A week later I picked it up and it was soldered pretty good, but a tiny glimpse of the crack still remained. I let it go because my wedding was coming up. I still don't understand why an associate (who is not a jeweler and who should be a butcher) would dare touch a ring that's already been sold. Please make sure an actual jeweler attempts to do work on your ring. read more
