Looking at reviews for several local vape shops, it's clear that many of them are small businesses that aren't exactly run like "tight ships". I would assume this place is no different. However, I think many of the negative reviews you see at various vape shops are likely overdramatized. I've been vaping forever, so I can't relate too much to new people looking for advice. However, to those looking for a place to stock up locally, this place was able to get the job done for me. Simple transaction: I call ahead asking if they have Horizon Falcon M1+ coils. Guy says yes. I show up 20ish minutes later. I would've bought 10 boxes, but they only had 4. No biggie! I ask to take all 4, and ask if they happen to have Aspire Breeze NXT coils. Despite those being tough to find recently, they DID have 3 boxes. I take all of those as well. Dude was friendly... said "Glad we could help you out with these. Sorry we didn't have more." I say "No worries, I'll just do the same thing and call ahead next time I need to restock." Again, simple. Was it as cheap as the online vendors I used to purchase from? No. Was I expecting it to be? No. Was I expecting a small independent shop to carry a buttload of one specific coil? I had some hope, but no I'm not surprised they only kept a few boxes of my favorite crap around. Frankly, I'm just glad someone keeps a decent supply on hand so that I didn't have to run all the way down to my last coil, and I didn't have to drive to the other side of the city either. After calling 2 other west side shops and hearing them explain how they didn't have squat in stock, I'd call THIS transaction a success. I'll be hitting them up in a few months to hopefully re-stock to a larger degree next time. No theatrics, no drama. read more

This vape shop excels with its wide variety of quality products. The staff are exceptionally informed about all their products. The customer service is above par. I have shopped at 4 other vape stores. The Vape Shop is the only place I shop at now. I will wait until they are open instead of settling for inferior products. Upstate NY has a handful of vape shops and out of all the ones I've been too, this one is the best, especially in the Rochester/Monroe County region. Their selection of juices, employee knowledge, and merchandise is top rate. The owner, Tony, is an extremely motivated person, in addition to being generally sharp and informed about many subjects, not just limited to vaping (ask him what his degree is in). Going to this shop, even if it's just to talk and vape, is usually time well spent. Personally, I believe this shop has the potential to be even better. The single thing that I believe holds them back is one of the co-owners. When I first found out that this specific employee was a co-owner, I couldn't believe it. I never caught his name or immediately forgot it after hearing it, but if you ever encounter this guy, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about. He's reckless, loud, occasionally gives bad advice, and fat enough to have his own gravity well. Occasionally, he's downright rude and acts like a complete dick to customers. This is a terrible personality when in a customer-facing role, but I digress. The day I found out he's a co-owner is the day he was riding one of those two wheeled electronic scooter/hovercraft contraptions around the shop and crashed multiple times, once behind the display shelf and knocking over several dozen glass vials of juice. Miraculously, none of them were broken. After they were cleaned up, he went right back to zooming around the shop. I made a few offhand remarks about his behavior to a few of the employees and that's when they told me he's a co-owner. When I voiced my disbelief, I received frustrated "there's nothing we can do about it" responses. Please don't let this single negative aspect discourage you from visiting the store. I wrote all this for awareness and thinly-veiled criticism for The Vape Shop to consider when thinking about the future. The shop is still pretty nice and has a great atmosphere. These guys are right near my house, so I went to them for info when I first began vaping. They were less than a half a mile from me, so it was just convenient. They definitely seemed wary when I said I was completely new to it and had NO idea what I was doing and they sort of quickly referred me to a cheap little vape and got me on my way. I didn't get too heavy into vaping because I wasn't happy with the tiny little weird device that they had suggested to me. I would take a giant pull on it and would feel absolutely nothing and exhale absolutely nothing. I was trying to explain this to one of the employees and was failing miserably. Being completely new to the vaping world, I had no idea how to articulate what I wanted other than "I hate this little thing, help, I want it to feel more like a cigarette." I was pretty sure that what I wanted was a more advanced device (again, at the time, I didn't know how to explain that I wanted a mod starter kit). He completely ignored what I was trying to explain to him and started steamrolling me, saying over and over and over how I needed nicotine because I was vaping at 0 nicotine. I kept insisting that I did NOT want nicotine, just a different, more advanced mod. I'd been off cigarettes for a long time and was trying to prevent a relapse by vaping- I didn't want to bring nicotine back into my body. I explained this thoroughly and he even went to far as to get frustrated and go to get me a mod and drip tip to try someone's vape that had nicotine in it. He got downright rude with me when I said no to the point that I just left the shop in a hurry and went home, nearly in tears over it. I don't know if it's because I'm a girl or because he just thinks he knew best, but he was a total blowhard bully and I actively avoided him anytime I came in after that. Over the next little while, my most pleasant interactions with them were when I simply needed coils. I started researching online to learn things for myself because whenever I would try to ask questions, the guys there were always just short and pretentious with me. Their house juices also taste like complete and total a**. I used to love one in particular, but now they're all just flavorless and awful. I don't know if they've changed something or what, but I've tossed about $40 worth of their various house juices because no matter what I try vaping it with, it tastes like flavorless candle wax. Lastly- their prices are STUPID. It completely takes advantage of people who are new to vaping, because wtf do we know about pricing if we're walking in, brand new and looking for help quitting smoking or staying off smoking? I stupidly trusted everything they said price wise and have spent an obscene amount of money there. I very recently had my last straw with them when I paid $60 for a $35 Smok tank. I had NO idea I was paying nearly double for it until I finally got my wits about me and looked online. Now I'll take some blame here- I'm a relatively intelligent human, and I know not to just blindly buy items without researching. However, the vape world can be kind of intimidating when you know nothing and just know that you don't want to be smoking anymore. I trusted that the owners and employees of this store were there to HELP PEOPLE QUIT SMOKING, as they advertise.....not take advantage of people monetarily who are seeking assistance. When I lost my second little starter mod, I went in to get a new one and paid what I THOUGHT was a decent price of about $150 after tax for a cheap mod, charger and 2 batteries. Come to find out, the mod was $30 online, the charger $10 and the batteries somewhere between $10-$15. I trusted this shop like an idiot and should've done my research. Y'all got a bunch of money from me and I hope you enjoy it, but I'll never step foot back in there. read more

They were very friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to make sure I was happy with the device I bought. Ever since I won't go anywhere else. I am actually signing up to yelp just to post this. The Vape Shop's homebrew eliquid has burned and clogged two clearomizers that i had no trouble with whatsoever using eliquid from eVo. Their "coffee" flavor tastes like the burnt remains of a pot that has been sitting heated for two days. It makes me sad because I'd love to buy local, but this stuff is abysmal and it's ruined my accessories. read more

Very clean very upscale look to the place. All the employees are super helpful without being pushy. They give you just what you need without the fluff. You can tell they enjoy what they do. TVs everywhere give you that inviting atmosphere that they don't want you to just buy and leave. They are inviting you to hang out and relax for awhile. They recently added some local clothing to the shop as well to support the local community. A definite stop if you are on the west side and have vaping needs. read more
