As a resident of Cromwell, I've driven by Green Lotus many times, but today was the first time I decided to give it a try, and it was a great choice! I called Green Lotus late in the afternoon inquiring about an appointment for facial waxing either tonight or tomorrow night - and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in tonight. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from Monica, and she offered to hang up my coat and get me a drink. My appointment with Vanessa went very well - she introduced herself with a handshake and conversed with me throughout the appointment. I have some skin sensitivities and allergies, and Vanessa discussed these with me prior to my appointment and added them to my record. It even printed that I had an allergy on my receipt - so I'm very pleased to know they take that matter seriously! She really took her time and didn't rush through the service. If I were to describe both employees I dealt with, I'd say: Processional & Friendly. They both deserve a ton of credit for their great customer service - something that seems rare these days. The salon is very clean and the waxing room had soft, relaxing music in the background and a soothing fountain. I thought the price was reasonable and ended up booking a future appointment. I always see Rachel, who is friendly and great at what she does. I typically get a trim and permanent color - never anything drastic, like changing hair colors, but I did get bangs for the first time in many years at my last visit. Rachel listened to what I wanted and gave me realistic advice about what looks would work on me. She followed my directions in general but the bangs came out not quite to my liking. 6 weeks later, having grown out some, they look better. The pros for this salon: the prices are reasonable ($75 for a cut and color), they sell what their stylists use on site including brushes and blow dryers, they have male and female stylists which is good if you have a preference, and they take walk-ins. On the downside, they don't take credit cards (cash and checks only - archaic!), they close pretty early on Saturdays and the Saturday appointments fill up quickly - be sure to call at least a couple of days ahead, and the place isn't much to look at on the inside - cramped, no TVs, and could use some renovating. I have been moderately happy with the cuts and colors over the years. Sometimes I feel they have been too conservative when I clearly communicated wanting more dramatic color, for example - or the cut ended up being just a bit shorter than what I asked for. To her credit, Rachel will fine-tune the cut for several more minutes if you are picky like me and her blowouts are great.

I was evidently not explaining clearly enough to prior hairdressers what I wanted color-wise. I'm not 100% sure I even knew. What I wanted all along ... and never got ... is what Rachel did! She showed me color samples and got a sense of my taste from my reaction to various colors ... and then she whipped up the exact right highlights mix. The cut is excellent and precisely what I ask for. All three stylists at Salon Euphoria are friendly, professional, and seem to genuinely enjoy their work. As another reviewer noted, it's easy to miss ... they are located next to Farmers but are set back from the street. The salon is clean and they are very accommodating with appointment times. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and they could likely get away with charging more ... but I'm glad they don't because price is what drove me there in the first place. I've been there twice now, as has my sister after seeing what Rachel accomplished with my hair, and I'll be making regular visits going forward. Thank you, Rachel!

It's smaller than Salon Elite, and not as easy to find because it's tucked back from the road, but it's worth keeping an eye out for. :) I'm not someone who ever knows what I'm looking for when it comes to hair, makeup, clothes... I know when to trust the professionals! I tell Rachel to do what she thinks is best, and I am always thrilled with the results. They do take walk-ins, and they also take credit cards.

I actually hesitated to try a pedicure because I have gone to my normal nail place religiously for years and have been happy but Ratha blew my nail salon out of the water. The attention to detail, the care and consideration of my comfort, and the absolute gorgeous job she did was more than I could have ever hoped. Not to mention, this is the softest my feet have ever felt in years. Like butter! She was also lovely to work with. My massage with Courtney was also incredible. Again, massages are nothing new to me, so I sort of go into each massage knowing what to expect but Courtney melted me. I never fall asleep during a massage (maybe once in my entire life) and I was out like a light at some point. She was so careful of the space on my shoulder I told her about the recent surgery on, but didn't ignore it and deprive me of any of the shoulder massage piece. She accommodated my still-drying toe nails from pedicure prior (I didn't have any choice about timing; I added the pedicure on at the last minute and they were happy to work around my request). All in all, I was happy with scheduling, the services, and felt that pricing was more than fair for the quality of the services received. I waited in line, sitting in dirty waiting areas, only to get my hair abused by beauty school dropouts. One day, my wife convinced me to go to a "salon." Apparently, there are these places where you can set aside a time - called an "appointment" - to get your hair cut without waiting for 45 minutes. What a concept! I have been going to Spritz ever since that fateful day. Lisa is very professional, and the best part is, she takes her time with the hair cuts and gets it right. I've never had a bad hair cut at Spritz. We also bring in the kids to get their hair cut, and they do it at a reasonable price. If you're a guy, or a girl, or someone with kids, stop by Spritz...or better yet, make an appointment.
