I was told by hairstylist Jennifer in confidence that what I wanted can be easily done. 5 hours later and my hair was fried (had to cut more than two inches) and it had turned green/blue. And looked so disgusting that I had to keep my hair up or braided to not draw attention. The entire appointment Jennifer was rude and making excuses for the AWFUL things she was doing to my hair. She got to the point of cutting random chunks of my hair. I was naive and thought it was my fault based on the fact I had never lightened my hair before. She was blaming the way my hair was colored (wasn't colored), the way my hair was cut, and any other excuse she could pull. I later found out that this woman specializes in MENS HAIRCUTS. and had never mentioned to me once about how uncomfortable she was or unconfident that she could do a good job. She kept me under the dryer for almost 40 minutes with bleach and foil in my hair. And toward the end of the appointment admitted defeat by saying "I don't care what clients think of their hair, as long as I like it I know I did a good job." It's safe to say I got a refund from the owner who again, was incredibly nice. I'm just baffled that this other professional did not mention her uncertainty once and royally messed up my completely healthy hair. I was able to fix it at Beautiful People salon in Cromwell (see my review on their page to see final results). I will never be asking for Jennifer again, and am so disappointed with how unprofessional the entire experience was.

She must have used a very strong developer (or something) because what I walked out with was ORANGE, BRASSY hair. Not to mention that my hair STARTED SMOKING when Kelly Marie had it in the foils. I alerted her, she made a face like, "Oh no," unfolded the foil, took a look & just closed it back up & left it on for another 15 or so minutes...what in the world?! End result, the entire top of my head lost about 8 inches and then they had the nerve to charge me $200+ for it! I was realistic in my color choice & was still staying in the "dark" color family so why did I walk out with orange, brassy hair? When I say orange...I mean literally orange. I was too nice since I saw Kellys eyes get watery when I told her it wasn't what I wanted and I didn't notice the fall out until I got home. The next day, I went back and had Sammy Jo try to fix it. She applied a nice color that quickly washed off after my 1st wash. All I was left with was dried, orange, shreds of long and short brillo-like hair. Only if you don't like your hair, then you can give them a try. Maybe they'll do a nice job with cuts but I woudn't trust them with color or anything that involves chemicals.

As a resident of Cromwell, I've driven by Green Lotus many times, but today was the first time I decided to give it a try, and it was a great choice! I called Green Lotus late in the afternoon inquiring about an appointment for facial waxing either tonight or tomorrow night - and surprisingly, they were able to fit me in tonight. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile from Monica, and she offered to hang up my coat and get me a drink. My appointment with Vanessa went very well - she introduced herself with a handshake and conversed with me throughout the appointment. I have some skin sensitivities and allergies, and Vanessa discussed these with me prior to my appointment and added them to my record. It even printed that I had an allergy on my receipt - so I'm very pleased to know they take that matter seriously! She really took her time and didn't rush through the service. If I were to describe both employees I dealt with, I'd say: Processional & Friendly. They both deserve a ton of credit for their great customer service - something that seems rare these days. The salon is very clean and the waxing room had soft, relaxing music in the background and a soothing fountain. I thought the price was reasonable and ended up booking a future appointment. I should have called but everything happened so quickly that I honestly was not thinking about the days appointments. I was unable to pick up my phone when they called but when I realized what had happened I called right back from the hospital. They do not answer their phone so I left a message and sent an email explaining what happened, I received no response and they charged me $185.00 for missing the appt. My message stated that I understood I would need to pay a cancellation fee and asked if under the circumstances if they could refund part of the $185.00 Well as I said there was no response. I would have been a very good client for these people as I would have utilized a number of their services on an ongoing basis. I did make a mistake but I think this is a very bad way to do business and a terrible way to take advantage of someone. Sometimes things just happen!

She was calm and patient and kind to our son, who was definitely nervous, but made the experience so much easier for him. Thank you Lauren for your fastidious attention to detail & the time you spent lightening and toning my hair. I came in and it was exceptionally clean and all I told her in terms of direction is that I wanted to feel really different when I walked out. I showed her one photo and told her I trusted her judgement and for the most part I didn't really look again until the end .. (we agreed on the length vibe together) but I appreciated her professionalism and her kindness and genuine honesty in what looked good (and what the color needed to be) :) spent a little bit of time letting the color lift & we rinsed (& she decided it needed to be toned a little) & I just appreciated everything about this experience and how I feel now. I left so much lighter than I came in and I can't thank you enough. Okay so I changed this to four stars and I'll tell you why... Basically I was happy but I washed my hair and I just didn't vibe with it in the end. I ended up going to another salon (today) and having a balayage done.
