This has been a nightmare. I left a urine sample which was supposed to be sent to the laboratory to run a culture. They lost it. I left another urine sample and waited and finally received a call from my urologist putting me on antibiotics for two weeks. I left another urine sample and she called back and said I must change to FOSFOMYCIN.... Which I did I have been trying to set an appointment for the last three days!! either nobody answers; or I am put on Held for over an hour. This is wrong wrong wrong. read more

As an existing patient, I've been calling for 3 weeks to try to get a routine procedure scheduled. There is either no answer or no response. Only once could I get a live human who said someone would call me back in a few days, and no one did (after 7 business days). As of today, I have been able to leave 2 voicemails, otherwise, I had to wait on hold with music playing for more than 45 minutes before I gave up. This is completely unacceptable patient care. I have had trouble getting a prompt response in the past as well, even when I explained I was in great pain, but this lack of response takes the cake. The doctor I see has been pleasant and competent in terms of surgical procedures, but there is no follow-up after procedures (everything is on you as the patient), and her attention and advice has been cursory. Otherwise, the front desk staff has been okay, and I didn't have to wait too long to be seen once I arrived. read more

Went seeking a second opinion about a potential external port for my dad. Dr.Tran and the staff were wonderful and he ended up healing on his own and is independent now, not on catheter. I totally recommend, this group is not just interested in surgeries that can leave one catheter dependent. They do routine call check ups and are always friendly and there is not much of a wait to get in either. I'm surprised they don't have better yelp reviews. read more

I have Interstitial Cystitis. I went in for a procedure to fill my bladder with steroids using a catheter. The nurse was to put 2 syringes in me. When she put the catheter in me she tore my urethra. I thought I would pass out! She only got 1 in me and I told her I couldn't take anymore. She told me to get dressed because she needed the room for next patient. I told her I couldn't even walk that I was burning like fire not knowing what happened. I got dressed and limped out to my car. I made it about 1/2 mile down road, got out and peed blood for a half hour, tried to call them and they are closed from 12:00-1:30. I got back in truck and made it to emergency room in Leesburg. I bleed for another 3 hours until they got it under control as well as my blood pressure. I received bill from Hospital and paid doctor, then I received bill from hospital. I felt they should pay this bill seeing that they caused it! I called them many times. I spoke to Office manager 1 time! She gave me the runaround. Every time I call they have an excuse. I would not recommend this bunch!!!! Be careful before you use them. . read more

I tried to make an appointment with the Lansdowne office and the office staff put me in as a totally different first name than my actual legal name not to mention that I am trans and my chosen name is none of the above names that were listed and this is a breach of HIPPA. They attributed it to an office error but that I should now trust my cancer care of my urology with a staff that had made a clerical error and were now astonished that I wanted to cancel my appointment. I recognize that office staff are not paid enough but if the doctor is good enough they should have office staff that are trained well enough to bring in the clientele to recognize them as being good doctors, otherwise the doctor's will not be getting very many patients as the patients that need the care and will go to other doctor's due to the lack of trust and patience will go elsewhere. read more

My GP referred me to Dr. O'Connor due to some fluctuation in my PSA over 18 months. Dr. O'Connor and I met and went over the symptoms (PSA was over 5 but considered "normal" for my age. As a precaution for a man in his 70's he recommended a DRE which I agreed was prudent based on our discussion. He found a large palpable mass on my prostate and recommended I have a biopsy which his office schedule the next week. The mass was malignant in 6 of 8 tissue samples taken. At the visit where we reviewed the biopsies Dr. O'Connor patiently went over the finding and laid out my alternatives in a clear time related way. I chose surgery and he said his colleague, Dr. Christine Tran, was one of the most talented surgeons to come out of the Cleveland Clinic. Dr Tran removed my prostate 3 weeks later with almost no consequential impacts. I have had none of the common issues with continence or normal function. These two remarkable specialist along with my GP, Dr. Nagell, saved my life. The post surgery biopsies had the magic negative margins descriptor while noting the cancer was graded an 8 on the Gleason scale. In plain English it was an aggressive cancer that had not metastasized and it was completely removed with no impacts to the normal functioning of my biology. I heartily recommend them all and a special thanks to Dr. Tran who is one hell of a skilled surgeon. read more

The treatment (or lack thereof) I received at this office was incomprehensible. I was given a prescription that I had warned the np and dr that I had an adverse reaction to several years prior. When I called them to request they change the prescription and that I was disappointed that my charts were not thoroughly reviewed they told me I would need to come back in for another appointment to do that. After multiple phone calls I was able to get them to prescribe a different medication. I am beyond frustrated at the negligence I experienced here and the staff of nurses who were rude and short with me over the phone. I would not recommend this establishment to any one. read more

Although Dr Roberts and desk staff were great the 8 days' time to get a lab result back was terrible service. The lab result came back to them 2 days after test but it took them 7 days to enter the results in the patient portal. After 2 phone calls they finally entered info but never called me back. read more

I advise against using The Urology Group. Days after surgery, my stent came out and stones blocked my kidney function. I was rushed to emergency and placed in Acute Care. I narrowly missed having to go on dialysis. The response from The Urology Group was to pass me on to another Urologist within their group for another surgery- I felt my fear and suffering was inconsequential to them. I finally got my quality of life back with Dr. Kambiz Tajkarimi, he manages his solo private practice, and is only obligated to his patients. No group or organization pressures him for productivity. read more

Went to this office for 6 years on and off, because of chronic bladder issues. Horrible horrible horrible time. I Never get the prescriptions the first time, I've seen 2 nurse practitioners who were completely wrong, and a Dr. Who looked at me like a deer in headlights. If you are a women, forget it!! They have no clue!! Gave me two rounds of antibiotics, and when I got a yeast infection from them, they refused to treat. Worst experiences I have had, be warned. Not there to help people, just make money. Made me suffer all weekend because they are idiots. Go to Reston, Janice Arnold, although maybe not that personable, is a much more capable Dr. With a clue about women. If it is more convenient, just think about it being a complete waste of time, hundreds of dollars of bills, and no answers later, you'll agree! read more

I am still trying to get ANY response from the Urology Group regarding some important VA Disability claim paperwork that hasn't been signed by Doctor Kevin P. O'Connor. They are all being incredibly disrespectful to me and I have no idea why. I guess my next step is to file a complaint with Medicare because they billed them for my visit and didn't fulfill the commitment to complete the forms. read more

Three operations over three years and no solution to urinary retention. Final operation by Dr. Pruna ended up with severe pain from a bladder spasm, about which I had no clue could occur. Dr. Purna's final analysis was that I had a blockage that would require complicated surgery. Referred to Dr. O'Brien by Nurse Parker. Diagnosis was that there was no blockage ("tract could not be more open"} but the problem was poor contraction, for which there was no treatment. Since the final analysis was predicated on a cystoscopy which I observed along with Dr. O'Brian, that diagnosis had a lot of credibility. I would recommend O'Brian but not Dr. Pruna. read more

Dr.Pruna saw me after my PCP could not cure my persistent UTIs after 5 rounds of cipro. He was on time, efficient, took a thorough history, and requested followup ultrasounds to ensure kidneys/bladder weren't causing the problem. He also suggested two supplements, one new one with way higher doses of cranberry than available at most pharmacies, and more Vit. C to address the problem preventatively, immediately. At follow up visit, he thoroughly explained the ultrasound report line by line, and, upon my request, took added time to review my meds list and give recommendations for my PCP to consider. I did have to ask for this follow up visit (not scheduled automatically by them when report came in), but I easily got the appointment.
