Here, "going postal," is still a good thing. So, I was there after an appointment on the nearly deserted Island Beach, and needing to get something mailed immediately with today's postmark. I couldn't just put the letter through the slot and hope for the best. I requested that the stamped envelop be posted with the current date in bold ink. No problem. The acting postmaster himself took the letter and with precision and fury, dropped the handheld stamp canceller down on the upper right corner of the envelop. Wham! With printing as clear as a bell and black ink, the mission was accomplished. No fuss. No muss.

Easy in, easy out. 4 Stars instead of 5 because they do not have an automat at this location, and their hours are still very limited. I know that it is not the fault of the individual location, but these decisions are made by the central management.

The lobby area has plenty of room to get your packages shipped, collect your mail and get what you need done. There are usually two employees working to cut the line when it gets bustling in here. Bob, the employee working behind the counter, was so energetic and helpful!! Great customer service! I don't mail overnight packages often & usually I would pay $19.95, but he saved me $3 by offering me a different solution & it would still be overnighted & I'd still have the tracking. Even tho I dropped it off at 3:30pm today, he guaranteed me it will be there by noon tomorrow & said if not, I get a full refund. I've never been to a post office where the guy explained everything to me & helped me save a couple of bucks! I was also in and out in less than 5 min, no line! All pluses in my book! I've been living here two and a half years and there's lovely people that work at this post office…read more But today my experience with a man called "Kevin" was unbelievable. He was totally rude did not want to help me told me to go home and get on my computer and look it up. I've never seen him at this post office. I think he's filling in but maybe he works at the Lakehurst post office. Actually he shouldn't even be working at all. He doesn't know how to deal with the public and is rude. On his phone chatting laughing at me making a fool out of me. Then a lovely lady called Gloria helped me out ( hope I got her name right) she was a breath of fresh air. Help me out in every way possible did everything for me with no problem. She has helped me in the past at the Lakehurst post office. And I just want to say she's great and helpful and always been very kind to me when I needed her help. So Kevin... you need to go. People don't need arrogance and that's what you are full of arrogance. They need to get rid of you. You're no asset to the Post office.. Gloria again you are the best stay there forever!!
